  • Confirmed my early assessment scan for 14th sept this morning so will be 9 weeks 6 days. Pretty certain of my dates as my cycle is normally spot on. Only have 4 weeks 3 days to go - not that I am counting or anything :-)

    Hi All

i had an early scan today as I had some bleeding yesterday, everything is fine and I am 10wks today....How do I change my EDD on the list as I am now officially due on the 12th march.

The Boys have 3wks left of school hols so I will be 13wks pg when they go back, I can't wait to be able to tell everyone. My friend who is 23wk told me today she is having a girl (she has 1 girl 8yrs) her dh was quite hoping for a boy really so I think he is privately a bit gutted....I'm sure when baby Megan arrives he will be chuffed to bits.
I also recieved some bad news today, my friend who was due her baby on Monday had to go into hospital friday with some problems, whilst there she found out the baby had died and she had to give birth to him stillborn on saturday, he is undergoing test now to find out what happened. I feel awful for her, it is such a rare thing to happen, and it took her 8yrs to conceive, she has no other children.

    Mel x

Right, MFD, sprog should be head down/bum up and back front. Candygirl, I'm rather hoping she point herself in the right direction as I've heard back to back labours are more painful, I mean the word painful does not appeal but when accompanied by more.... *whimper*

I am not scrubbing anyone's floors end of story ;-) I will however sit on my gym ball as soon as Himself has been brave enough to blow it up properly (he's convinced it's going to burst!) atm I sit on it and sink down halfway! Unfortunately we don't have any chairs I can sit on backwards, just armchairs and er, I'm not quite that bendy! I've also been doing yoga so I'm grumpy that all that time spent on my hands and knees was wasted! lol

My friend leant me a load of pregnancy books when I got my bfp, I started reading them and got scared so I've stopped ever since! So no recommendations from me! Although, I did win Myleene Klass' book and I did actually really like that :-)

Blooming? What's that? I haven't bloomed yet, felt sick all the bloody way through, I think I might actually look like a bottle of gaviscon I drink that much and now the blimming baby is facing the wrong way! I'm going on strike! ;-)

Btw another vote for ribena and coke for morning sickness btw they were absolute saviours for the first, well, many weeks ;-)

Yet another huge essay from me, sorry chaps!
Comping, freebieing and trying to pay the mortgage off early!

As much as I feel for you with the bad skin, I'm so ruddy glad someone else is going through it as well :rotfl:
I was lucky as a teenager too and now they're out to get me!
I dont want to overwash my skin, as that will make it worse but I do find my skin is getting a tad greasy, which will mean I either live with being a spooty oik, or I buy a different face wash for a different skin type, and then in 2 months my skin will setlle down and it will be neither of the two, and face wash number 3.....

Sorry, I am not on this thread (yet), but I do have greasy skin (I am 28!!!) and always suffer from spots. What I found helps me is baby wipes!!!! I always have a box in my car, and I use it as soon as I feel my skin gets greasy and I can swear it helps... I can sometimes look decent now... Not always, but few days a month, I am not too bad! Scared what is going to happen when I will get pg!

  • Hi all. Wow, lots to catch up on! We’ve been decorating and sorting stuff out (now that I no longer need to hoard all Poppy’s old clothes) so lappy has been in hiding for the last few days!

Elle, I am so sorry for your loss (I know what you are going through and feeling. I waited 6m before ttc again just to let myself grieve and collect my thoughts. Looking forward to seeing you back on this thread when you’re ready xxx).

Congrats and welcome, lucifa73, slscarborough, dj_jenns, xredwebx, sparkle03!!!

Candy, I was sick as a piggy with Poppy but only had a few fleeting moments very early on with ‘my son’ (how weird does it feel typing that! lol). Most of my family have guessed it’s a boy due to this theory!

I also vouch for s&v crisps and ‘full fat’ coke (as I call it!). Also wolfed lucozade by the bucket load but not sure that’s advised! I convinced myself it was something to do with balancing salt and sugar levels?

MFD, can’t believe its nearly scan time already! Hope all goes well for you and ‘Baby Nugget’!!

Fritha, best get scrubbing those floors before baby has less room to move back! lol. They thought Poppy was back to back but they were wrong – yay! My gymball is still in the box from last year! For some reason I really needed one but obviously the novelty wore off before I even got it home lol.

Mrs to be, do you mean you are due 26 Sept this year? Or did you have your son last year? Sorry to be so dolly! The Birth list only shows the last few months of births but you can of course be added to the EDD list if you’re due next month!

Redmel1621, so glad all is well! Must be such a relief. (I feel so sorry for your friend. What an awful thing to happen xxx).

  • On the subject of books, I bought First time parents by Dr Miriam Stoppard, which me and OH thought was good. I liked all the stages of development in the back as well so I knew what Charlie should be doing next and preparing myself for it!! I've also got a Dr Spock one which was a bit heavier reading but really informative.

Gosh, there seems to be loads and loads of newly preggers people. I'm flying up the list which is quite scary! 30 weeks and 2 days now and I've had a fairly easy pregnancy so far. Easier than I imagined anyhows.

I had a bit of morning sickness, but only threw up once. I feel sorry for the women who seem to get really bad sickness, must be hard especially if you are working. Don't think my fellow commuters on the tube would have liked me much.

I had a bad spell about 24/25 weeks when I had really bad sciatica and I told everyone it was enough to put me off getting pregnant again! It really was that bad. I couldn't move around properly at all and was in agony. Can see what life may be like for me at 80 with arthritis. But all of a sudden it disappeared which was fantastic as I had visions of it staying until I'd given birth.

Just one quick question which is probably better suited to my midwife, but I hardly ever get to see her, so... My mum had my brother at 24 weeks (emergency C-Section) and me at 33/34 weeks (I came out voluntarily). Does this make me more likely to have my baby early or is it just one of those things? My mum is petite beyond belief which may have had something to do with it. Think 4foot 10 and 6 stone (your average 10 year old is probably bigger than her!). I'm not that small, but still only 5foot 2.
