I went to look at pregnancy books but was overwhelmed by the selection. Can anyone recommend a good book that tells it like it is and doesn't get too 'new age' about things IYKWIM?

do you want a light hearted book or a more serious one-with everything you need to know? as i got one of each, totally different in style. some days i just want something easy to flick through, but other days the more serious book has been usefull for more in depth info.....

  • I had every pregnancy books going....big mistake. Stick to one otherwise its really confusing!

Cant recommend what to expect when you are expecting highly enough. Very factual and had answers to most of my questions....got if from Asda and much cheaper then elsewhere. If you want a bit of lighter reading then the Myleene Klass or Mel Skyes books are good

I had a midwife appointment this morning (I'm 34 weeks tmrw) and the baby has turned! Which would be great news if she hadn't been the right way round to start with! The little tinker is still head down but now they reckon she's back to back! *wail* I don't want to scrub the floors!

You can come and scrub my floors!! I did pregnancy yoga and mine was back to back. Midwife suggested sittling stride a chair instead of on sofa. Also leaning over a bean bag or gym ball.

For any worried Dad's to be, i've just bought "From Lad to Dad" and "You're the Daddy" for my son in law, who is scared sh1tless of DD's hormones at the mo.Both books are very lighthearted, but informative and are on Amazon :D

My DD was back to back, think it was called posterior then, but I don't think they realised, or cared back then:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: back in the days of 1 scan and !!!!!! off:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Haha, this is pretty much what I'm getting now! I've only had one scan, no chance of any more. They don't seem to care around here. Everyone, don't have babies in Watford! Terrified of what I'm going to find when I actually get to the hospital. It was a mission and a half getting an antenatal class out of them.

since the day I was late for my period I have had horrible morning, afternoon and night sickness!

How are you managing withthe sickness? I had all day sickness with my 3 dd and then hyperemisis with my 4th :( I lived on salt and vinegar crips and diet lemonade for a few weeks (not at all healthy but the only things I could keep down) I used these morning sickness remedies too. I took the tea at bedtime (or you could try just a regular peppermint tea before you go to sleep). It got me through the worst of it.

    Take care hun:)
