Hi Keely, thats great news, good job someone put you straight about BF before it was too late ie already bottle feeding! I don't know, its hard enough to know what to do at the best of times without drs telling you the wrong thing eh! Fingers crossed your bp stays level etc.

I suppose that after hearing gem_'s BS thats why us pregnant ones and new mums get free dental treatment lol! Glad you and Alex are doing well x

Elle_gee - so sorry, have been there and sadly know what you are going through (but had to have an erpc afterwards) . I had my MC at 11 wks so waited til after 12 wk scan before daring to believe it was true, adding myself on here or telling anyone etc, it was as if I didn't want to tempt fate! Still don't think I'll relax til the little one is safely in my arms! Lost mine in Oct and fell pregnant again in Feb. Some say it happens more quickly after a mc as you are more fertile but you'll know whats best for you. Take care hun, I'm sure we'll see you back soon. x

I am in the process of booking a private early assessment scan and have been given the option of 8 weeks 6 days or 9 weeks 6 days. I know if I wait the extra week it will be clearer but does anyone have any experience of scans at these early stages?

MFD and Candygirl - you 2 are to blame for me sitting here nearly pmsl at that link you posted on Candygirls morning sickness thread!!! DH has even been howling at some of the stories! Even though I've been through it once, you do kinda forget the worst bits until all those other people post their "experiences" and it all comes flooding back.

I had a private scan at 9wks and 6 days and it was great - really wouldn't have seen much a week earlier, especially if your dates can be pushed back ever so slightly. Try and hold off for 9wks if you can would be my advice. Enjoy - it's amazing.

Just confirmed what I knew already really!! i will stick with the appointment at 9 weeks. Only another 4 weeks to wait.

How sure of your dates are you, ie did you have regular cycles in the region of 28 days? If you had regular cycles, I'd go for 8 weeks 6 days as you'll get the reassurance sooner. Also assuming you get an NHS scan at around 12 weeks, it spreads them out a bit more. However, if you had long or irregular cycles it might be worth waiting the extra week in case you're not as far along.

I had an early private scan at 7 weeks 5 days (although the NHS dating scan then moved me forward 6 days so it would be 8 weeks 3 days based on that I guess, but I still think my due date doesn't make sense), and we clearly saw the baby and heard and saw the heartbeat on an abdominal scan then.

The clinic I went to recommended not before 7 weeks to be sure of seeing the heartbeat.

I had today off but I'm going back to work tomorrow. Not looking forward to it but need something to keep me occupied -and as much as I hate filing, I'd rather do that than the ironing at home!

All is going well thank you.I had a growth scan today and the baby weights about 2lb 6oz which is below average but nothing to worry about.I've got another scan in 4 weeks to check the growth again.How's ur pregnancy going ? Do u know if ur having a boy or girl ?

Well I thought all was going ok but my hormones must have gone haywire this morning as having a major wobble - could say the huge pile of washing up I've come down to and being woken at 5.45am yet again by DD has just reduced me to a tearful wreck! :eek: Men eh! Why does it always seem like we are nagging when we ask for help!

Oh sorry, that all sounds so dramatic, DD has been waking early for the last 2 weeks and trying to cope with that and still working part time, I guess I'm just over-tired and cranky! Bet you wished you hadn't asked now :rotfl:

No, don't know what we are having, DH didn't want to know and baby wasn't playing anyway. DD is convinced shes getting a brother, tried preparing her in case its a sister but we'll see! Glad to hear you are being well looked after and at least you get extra peeks at baby with the extra scans. Do you know what you are having?
