polly-little shops have better garuntees than big shops i know many people who have had problems with prams from bigger stores and got nowhere because lets face it they dont really care so long as they have your money a littler shop relys on word of mouth and good reputation.
chell-they do ask in hospitals now if you have a steriliser and bottles just incase breastfeeding doesnt work out.we had ours brought for us but they can be picked up cheaply now.

Thankyou everyone, just popped up again to say we decided on a name for her today. She is Gracie Tilly and she has given her little squeak of approval on it :D

We have put together our travel system today, we got this one. For what is included we thought it was a bargain really. I had an urban detour one before and tbh wouldn't spend out the money again when basically all you are doing is paying for a name. :)

That is a lovely name. And glad she likes it too! That's always important!

I like the look of the travel system you have. Quite reasonably priced and all. Bf won't buy anything that we can "test" beforehand. He really is a pain in the bum!

Welcome to the world, Gracie Tilly! x

Hope you don't lose your CA, Carol. Thats not fair is it! Can you call the CAB and find out what you're entitled to? x

Hope your scan goes well, Polly and that baby is in a co-operative mood! Once Poppy was bored of holding her foot in front of her face, ours was amazing!

anm, we have the Silver Cross 3D in Pistachio and absolutely love it. So glad we made such a good choice on one of the pricier items (even though MIL bought it for us ;)). Even better that it fits easily in my Punto! We bought ours from John Lewis online using discount codes after about, oh, 8 trips to the shop with DH to try it out 'one last time'! :D
  • Hi all,

I am 35 weeks, due 20th August with number 3. I had got rid of most of my baby stuff but luckily haven't had to buy much. Actually nothing so far :D

I have cloth nappies and sleepsuits and don't use a pram so no big expense there. I do want to get or make some newborn nappies though, my popolinis are pretty big.

  • Hi,
    Hope you are all well.
Finally after 16 weeks my sickness had gone and I no longer have to take anti sickness meds, I have so far lost over a stone since getting preggers so its such a relief to be able to eat again.
I got an e-mail to go on the next sale preview today and managed to get 3 pairs of maternity Jeans/ black pants for £35, bargain!! the sale starts online tomorrow so check it out.
Unfortunately all the unisex baby wear had already sold out and I don't find out the sex until the 19th Aug so I had to hold off on buying clothes.
I am already looking at travel systems and really fancy getting a quinny buzz, I read somewhere that bigger babies can grow out of the seat really fast though, does anyone know anything about this or has anyone else bought one, I love some advice before forking out £300 for one!

Hi, i've been for my first scan, 10 weeks, and was quite amazed to see a baby shaped alien type thing! My last baby is 7 1/2 and her first scan showed a kidney bean with a heartbeat!

Anyway, as i'm now an elderly mum (37), and my last baby was born almost 8 years ago, i've noticed the maternity care up here has changed a lot in 8 years.

Last time, i saw midwife every month for first 6 months, every 2 weeks for month 7 and then weekly for the last month. On top of this were the two scans (10 and 20 weeks), and another hospital appt. with the consultant who also did blood wee etc.

This time, i've been to docs when i found out, hospital at 10 weeks for my first scan, then nothing until hospital at 20 weeks for proper scan. I think after that, i see my midwife at 34 weeks, then 38 - and thats it!!

Is this normal? What do other areas of the country do?

Maybe i'm just panicy!, but i cant help thinking if something goes wrong, i'm not going to find out til the 20 week scan!
