Ask your doctor/midwife for a definitive answer on this, you may find that it's ok, but thenagain they may say it's not, you won't know for definite without asking! (that's imo anyway!) :-)
Oh and for the record we have even less stuff than you, my DH's brother arrived six weeks early, if Small does that she'll be sleeping, naked, in a drawer.... *beam* (I jest, a bit, stuff's on order and other stuff we're borrowing and we just need to persaude our friends to get in their loft and get it all down!)Comping, freebieing and trying to pay the mortgage off early!0 -
Evening all
I got two bags of baby mags from a lady on Freecycle yesterday so that's my weekend reading sorted. She also included some other bits, including a baby names book so I've been flicking through that already and adding some the list..
I have my first piece of maternity wear too - black linen trousers from Topshop. I will need new trousers as soon as I get the slightest bump as my others for work had no give in them whatsoever.
Roll on next Wed and my second midwife appointment. I'm even looking forward (hmmm, maybe that's a bit strong!) to my blood tests and I'm petrified of needles usually!0 -
Pollyanna-we brought our travel system from a local baby shop, far cheaper then mothercare etc. We got a rain cover thing free too, well actually two as the bloke didnt realise there was one in the box already and so put another in for us! my sister said they dont tend to last long, as they can go brittle etc if you use them often like she does in the rain.
We also brought our cot bed from there too- at a fantastic price...so glad we looked around and wasnt sucked in by the sale people on mothercare.
I think we've got most things prepared now, my sister's given us a few things ie moses masket, steriliser, bottle warmer, bouncey chair thing etc.
I need to remember a couple of things for me now though-ie dressing gown, nighties, slippers for hospital!
My OH came home with some cute baby things today, a little pair of booties and some vests with bears on! He couldnt resist as they were half price in Boots!

thanks septemberbaby, this day has gone worse, on MA i may lose my carers allowance.
baby is till breach, so got the option of DR trying to turn him, which is 50% successfull or having a planned c section. am in turnmoil.0 -
Thankyou everyone, just popped up again to say we decided on a name for her today. She is Gracie Tilly and she has given her little squeak of approval on it
We have put together our travel system today, we got this one. For what is included we thought it was a bargain really. I had an urban detour one before and tbh wouldn't spend out the money again when basically all you are doing is paying for a name.I live in my own little world, but it's ok as everyone knows me here0 -
Thanks for everyone's comments. I will get my head around it all soon! Coincidentially, I got a leaflet with discounts from a little shop near me that I will persuade bf to go to. My mum told us about it, but bf dismissed it as he wants to go to a "big shop" so it has proper guarantees and such like. But there's no harm in looking, is there?
I have my 4D scan today and I am unbelivably excited about it. We are finally finding out what we are having. But we are keeping it a secret. It means that people can't give us their stashes of baby clothes with pink or blue in, but we think it will make for a nice surprise when the baby is born. If we are able to stick to it, that is! :rotfl:
Just wondered how everyone else got on with 4D scans and if anyone knows if I have to have a full bladder or not. It doesn't mention anything about bladders on their website.Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

I had a 4d scan a couple of weeks ago, I didn't need a full bladder but apparantly needed a different child! She slept the whole time with her hands in little fists in front of her face! No amount of prodding, poking, coughing, laughing, begging, pleading, etc etc etc would wake her up!
We got so stuck for something to do we checked her gender twice! First time 'probably a girl but I can't see properly', second time ' looks like a girl but she's put her foot in the way' *headdesk*
They did offer for us to go back and try again another day but we decided to take the CD of the scan instead (we'd only paid for a few pictures) which I was glad about, it's not hugely exciting as she doesn't do anything much but it's so cool to watch the moving image!
My advice, if you know something in particular wakes the baby up, take it with you in large quantities! (We would have done but nothing, literally nothing, wakes her up once she's asleep, my dh once slept through a chip shop exploding so I think that may be where she gets it from lol!)Comping, freebieing and trying to pay the mortgage off early!0 -
Haha, oh dear, that doesn't sound good, but it still must have been lovely to see her in all her glory, even if she wasn't moving.
I've been told to bring chocolate and a fizzy drink, so I've asked bf to get some.
Hopefully mine will be a bit more active than yours, although it's being a bit lazy at the moment!Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

I've bought the First wheels Elite, the Maxi Cosi car seats connect to the base so I got one of those. I'm not bothering with a moses basket, I bought a better mattress for the carrycot instead. This was cheaper than buying a moses basket and stand.
This is our third baby, it was a suprise so we have nothing left from our other two. I've hardly bought a thing. I've not bought a thing for feeding as hopefully I will breast feed so shouldn't need a steraliser. When I do buy bottle for water I will just boil them to clean them.
I've bought real nappies, a few vests and sleepsuits and a cheap changing mat. I'll wait till we see what sex the baby is and what size before buying more clothes. I've not bought a cot, that can wait till we actually need it. We've got a three bedroom house and will have three children so there won't be a nursery, no point trying to fit a cot in till it is needed.
I am having the baby three weeks yesterday, I keep thinking that I really should pack my bag since I am almost 36weeks. :rotfl:Nevermind the dog, beware of the kids!0
