I want a sling now! :rotfl: I've found it so hard to find a pram/travel system that I like and now I have to find a sling that I like. Choices, choices.
I like the look of the Wilkinet one as it seems to support the head as well for tiny babies. Anyone got any more information on these before I fork out the better part of £50 for one?!Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

Pssst...I love my urban detour...got it new off ebay with carseat for £150 last summer. No problems with it yet, although I may be tempted to exchange it for an out'n'about nipper (lighter though not smaller) if it dies on me. I even took it on holiday with me (even though I had a chance to borrow a Jane!) and it proved water and windproof through the winter. The bad reviews scared me too, but so many people have them that the incidence of bad experiences will be that much more. I'm just saying....
Hurumpphh! I was so turned off the Urban Detour after those reviews and now I don't know what to do! :rotfl:
Bf wants to go back and have a look again at some more, but my point was that we found that one, thought it was the dog's danglies, then found out from the net that so many people hated it. So how do we know the same's not going to happen with any others that we look at. We find one we like to find out it's parp. Gosh, it's so hard to choose, but I need to get a wriggle on as I'm 26 weeks and some of them might take ages to come!Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

The babywearer has reviews on it if that helps, also check out ebay as they don't have a hugely high resale value so you can pick one up pretty cheaply :-) Hope that helps :-)Comping, freebieing and trying to pay the mortgage off early!0 -
Hello
I thought I would let you know my experiences with slings, carriers and pushchairs.
We got a maclaren quest from a nearly new sale but officially you shouldn't use it for the first three months - we did use it from around 6 weeks with a little extra head support.
Until 6 weeks though we used the baby bjorn (which was lent to us) and a sling called Kangaroo Korner. Each has different qualities the baby bjorn was great for long walks, as it distributed the weight more evenly. The Kangaroo Korner was my saviour though, it is a fleece pouch and my daughter spent lots of time in it in the first few weeks. It was great for supermarket shopping and pottering in the house. My daughter wanted to be held all the time and it allowed me to get on with other things and she would sleep in the pouch. I now use it as an aid to carry her on my hip (she is now 5 months old) and we have recently graduated to the Ergo Carrier which I am expecting to use for a couple of years if not longer (my sister in law occasionally uses hers with her 3 year old).
Hope my experience helps.0 -

I had a Wilkinet - used it twice!
Really uncomfortable - didn' feel secure and very tricky to get on. DH liked it a bit better than I did but we still didn't get our moneys worth! Do you know anyone who has one - might be worth trying it first?Tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it yet...0 -
Another good sling site is www.slingmeet.co.uk - on the forums you can find info about local meets or where you might be able to borrow a sling.Nevermind the dog, beware of the kids!0
