  • Thank you so much Rosie and again thanks Fritha. I think I am just getting all a little stresso over it all at the moment.

Keelykat - so you got a proper kicker, have you? Mine is just a little fidgety, a few good kicks and a few hiccups (I thought these were just kicks at first, but think they are too regular to be kicks, unless I am giving birth to a natural drummer!).

I've been having big probs with my sciatica/pgp or whatever it is. Takes a while for my leg to "unstiffen" - not sure if that's the right word. I shuffled around the block with bf and the dog this morning (he would have gone alone, but I figure the more I move, the better it is for me) and I got stuck trying to get in the front door. bf got in the door first, then I said, "I'm stuck." He was like, "What?" and I just burst into tears. That made him rush out the blooming door and help me!:rotfl: I just couldn't move as I put the sore side up on the step first.

He wants me to give up work now which is 7 weeks before I plan to, but I know maternity pay doesn't kick in till 29 weeks and I'm only 25, plus it seems so lame as my leg does get better sometimes. Oh, what to do? What to do?

I know exactly what you mean - I get "stuck" a lot too - usually when I have just changed DS nappy - can't get up again which has been quite scary, especially when I have been in the house on my own with DS who is only just 2!

I feel for you - if you need to then go off now. Go and see your GP and get home to sign you off. It's such an uncomfortable feeling and rest really does help. Human nature kind of says keep going and it must get better if you keep active. I'm not sure that is true for this condition though!

Hope it eases a bit as things progress. Mine was at its worst at about 30 weeks.
Tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it yet...

Had 2nd scan and all was fine. could see feet and hands really clearly, at one point it had a hand up by its face and so we told DD it was waving at her which she was quite chuffed about! didn't want to know the sex which is just as well as it wasn't that co-operative... told DH it must be a boy if its being awkward already! Was in there for over half an hour though so got to have a really good look.... can't believe thats it now til Nov (all being well).

Hugs to you pollyanna, I can't begin to imagine what you are going through, did I see someone else here say how swimming had helped them?? It maybe worth checking if you can get signed off, I know our place counts any maternity related sickness as the start of your maternity leave but this could be as close as 11 weeks before due date, I guess its worth checking that out?

So glad the scan went well. rosies_mum! Can't wait for mine!

Polly & Fritha, all I can say is that I went through labour only last October and here I am again already! Although Poppy's birth was far from straight forward, I walked into hospital to be induced at 7:30pm on the Saturday and Poppy was born at 7:47pm on the Sunday. One little day out of my life and I now have this absolutely amazing daughter for the rest of my life :D.

I won't lie, it did hurt and I still had an epidural even after gas & air and diamorhpine but the relief was amazing bliss! Just make sure you know all your options and try and be as flexible as you can. I didn't make a birthplan. I simply told the MW to do what was best for me and my baby. In the end, I had an emergency forceps delivery and stiches but apprently I was minutes off being rushed for an emergency C section.

Once its over, you will be amazed as to how quickly your body recovers - promise! ;)

    xx

Had a silly panic last night and went to bed upset.. all because I was looking at myself in the mirror and got all fretty about where the hell a baby is going to fit - I'm only a size six!

I'm not worried about putting on weight and all that (believe me, I wish I was a decent size ten and could find so much more to wear!), I just think I look too narrow (both side to side and tummy to back) to get a baby in there!

BF is making me hold a rugby ball in front of me to try it! :(

    Hi olliesmummy

It could be nothing to worry about it may just have been that your urine was more dilute and thats why the line was lighter. I can understand you being worried I have bought 10 tests in bulk and used them all every day and examined them carefully to see if they were darker. They were not always darker but everything has gone okay so far for me.

I have my fingers crossed for you!

As far as I understand it, a line is a line is a line! They don't necessarily get darker the more hcg in your wee. You have a line you're pregnant so try not to worry. Have a read of this as it might help you settle you a bit :-)

elle gee, if it helps, I met a girl in hospital, tiny little dot of a thing she was, seriously miniscule, she was 33 weeks with twins and yes, her tummy entered the room considerably before she did but not ridiculously! Oh and a friend of a friend another tiny little slip of a thing didn't even have a bump until she was six months! So try not to worry I've been assured by many people that you may find that you actually love your new curves becuase of the amazing job your body is doing! (I hope that helps a bit!)
