Haha. Fair enough. As long as everything measures okay, then you are doing alright.

I've put on piles of weight, so I'm the complete opposite.

When I got to work after my appointment, my boss said, "So, everything alright?" I said, "They said the baby's quite big, so they need to keep an eye on me." He said, "I could have told you that and saved you a morning off work!" Think he's trying to say I'm rather large!!

I don't know how to add myself to the list as this is my first time posting on MSE!
I'm due my first baby on the 31st Dec 08.
I love reading this thread as its all so new to me, so any advice and tips are welcome.
I just wanted to share a deal I saw on an activity mat, its the tippitoes travel activity mat and is on Littlewoods Direct for £10 at the mo , The mat is normally £30 and I got it for £8 using a 20% code I got on this site (xx464).
I hope this useful for some of you.

I went to see the mid-wife this morning only to be told to come back at 8 weeks :rolleyes: why they couldn't tell me that when I rang and told them how early I was I don't know!!!

Anyway, I have been experiencing a fluttering heart for the last 2 or 3 weeks (pretty much since conception, maybe a few days after) so I mentioned this. MW got me in to see the doc straight away (the power of position lol).

Anyway the doc had a listen to my heart and has sent me for an ECG _pale_ has anyone else had this? He told me not to worry and said he just wants to see a baseline of my heart but it's freaked me out a bit - I really expected them to say that it was a normal thing to happen in early pregnancy.

Im sorry i havent heard of this happening in early pregnancy, but im sure everything will be ok. try not to worry right now. x x

Hi Everyone!

I am a newbie on this board and hope it is ok I have added myself to the list. I found out last Friday that I am pregnant :j 4 days before I was due on my period so it is very early days. I have to say I can definitly (sp) feel it already which is why I took an early test. I am consantly hungry/feeling sick at the same time and my breasts are sore and almost 2 sizes bigger already:eek:!!! I am going to see the doctor next week to get it all confirmed properly but I am sooooo excited already:j .

Ok, as I remember, MFD, interestingly I'm sure I've heard of this happening in early pregnancy, something to do with er, ok, I remembered when I started typing the sentence but it's fallen out, sorry. But, having said that, with anything like that it's best to get it all checked out, pregnancy puts such a ridiculous strain on your body that it's better that they're overly cautious so try not to worry (even though you will).


Polly, I'm like Keely I still have chuff all bump! But she's measuring fine for dates so it's odd, I also had somewhat of a tummy beforehand (and that's puytting it politely) and I've bearely put any weight on so I think that explains it. But that wasn't what I meant to type. Essentially as I understand it they want to keep an eye on the baby to make sure a) the poor kid isn't going to end up getting so big (s)he ends up coming out with a school uniform on, I think in that case they might consider encouraging the baby out early but I couldn't tell you for sure about that, your midwife will know a heck of a lot better than me b) that they know what they're dealing with and the baby isn't going to get too big for you to be able to get out yourself. I think in that case they may consider evicting them via the sunroof but again it's all ifs and your midwife will know much better than me.

If it help my friend (who's expecting again and will have another enormous one) had a 9lb 14oz little girl a couple of years ago, all natural no stiches or anything, and my friend is pretty tiny herself so try not to worry, they'd just rather be safe than sorry. Have a chat with your mw next time you go as she'll be able to explain things to you :-)

I am a bit worried though, I had such a bad time having my last son,He was 10lb 11 oz, I may go for a c-section this time!:o
Also a bit worried about the credit crunch, I am a stay at home mum to
DS age 9
DD age 6
DS age 2
so we only have one income coming in, But nevermind!! I am sure we will manage! I am so excited aswell!!:T:j :j

Hope everything turns out ok with the ECG :grouphug: . I haven't come accross this before but there are a HUGE amount of symptoms that accompany us for 9 months so I'm sure everything will be just fine .

My intital MW appnts have always been a letdown too . Just form filling and then waiting impatiently for the scan appnt to come thru (here we have the dating scan and booking-in at the same time at the antenatal unit). Your next one should be much more exciting! :j

Is it tonight you're telling your step son? Hope everything goes well and he's delighted about being a Big Brother!
