Best of luck. Ours is the Maxi Cosi Cabrio fix (0-12 months). I checked the brochure this morning and I could see no "local comments" - addresses or anything (I'm in Aberdeen) so I thought it was a national brochure.. They didn't have the seat in stock in the store itself - it came from another store. I am picking it up this weekend so hope the price and product are still correct!

Haven't been on here in well over a week as been mega busy.

I managed to get the car seat for £70.

Also bought a cotbed off ebay £55 - got hubby to put it together and its fab, really happy with it. Just need to get a new matress now.

Thanks for the info about the car seat!! :D

Hi ladies, i'm back from my week away (for our wedding anniversary). Even though i had a lovely week, i've come home with a problem with my neck which is worrying me. Im booked in to see the gp tonight. I'm not sure exactly what i've done but i noticed my neck was aching on the left side, and then the left hand side of my face has tensed up and i cant feel anything..... Im hoping it's just a trapped nerve or something that can be cured-i cant blink properly, focus (my eye keep watering), eat or even kiss properly. My OH doesnt seem too worried-keeps telling me not to worry but half of my face is numb-i cant help but worry! Its really getting me down-cant wait to get an answer tonight.

Normally id take some ibruprofen in this kind of situation but i cant do anything because of being pregnant, ive tried a hot water bottle on my neck but no feeling yet.

Baby seems to be ok though, doing a lot of moving around and we've got another scan tomorrow afternoon. I need to get my blood test results for iron etc too as i have had several dizzy spells including one bad one when i was with the midwife just before we went away!

Sorry if theres any spelling mistakes-really hard to focus right now with how my face/neck is etc.

    Keely.

  • Morning all , hope everyone is feeling o.k.

38 weeks pregnant - section booked for week wednesday.

Have now got horrible cold and throat infection and feel so fat and uncomfortable.

Feeling really guilty about DS2 who is having to make do with tv for entertainment today. I don't normally do this but I just don't have the energy to do anything. How on earth and I going to cope with 2

Please someone tell me it's going to be o.k :o
Tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it yet...

I'm in agony this morning at work. Shooting pains down my bum and leg whenever I try to stand up. Seems okay when I'm sitting down, but getting up and moving around was the only way to alleviate my back pain, so now it seems like I can't win. I feel like sitting here in tears, but that ain't going to help. It is worse at worse. And I thought sitting down at work all day was going to make this pregnancy easier!!!

I am going to mention it to the midwife, but is there anything I can do in the meantime. I'm trying to sit quite still to stop it hurting, but I'm not sure I'm storing up trouble and making it doubly worse for myself when I do move.

    Hi keely,
Happy anniversary! Glad you had lovely time away.
I'm no medical expert but it sounds to me as like a mild bout of bells palsy which is more common during 3rd trimester. It hapenned to a friend of mine in both her pregnancies. The first resolved after a week without treatment and the second resolved after the birth. She had no long term side affects at all. So I'm sure it'll be fine.

Thanks lwcus, obviously im not after medical advice (i can imagine mods eagerly banning me or something lol) but im hoping its something that will go away or can be sorted out. My mom is now worried sick- so ive now kept my mouth shut and havent told anyone else-i can do without people over reacting :o Hormones during pregnancy are already making me tearful without any extra stress!

I'm rapidly coming to the conclusion that pregnancy is completely ridiculous! Keely, based on that your face will hopefulyl stop being silly soon but I can imagine how scary it is. I hope your midwife is nice and calm and reassures you (my BIL once had bledding from his eyes, very reassuring when the doctor had kittens! He was fine btw, he just needed a big old rest amazingly!) and it eases soon.

Polly, admittedly this might get funny looks at work but, get on your hands and knees. Kneed hip width apart, hands under your shoulders. Keep your back straight (no bending it up or down) and look down at the floor so you spine is generally nice and straight. Then move your bum gently and slowly from side to side. This might no remove the pain but it should help ease it a little. I hope your midwife is helpful when you see her.

Right well I suppose its about time I posted on here again. I did under another username when I first found out I was pregnant and we hadnt told anybody yet. Im 21 weeks now and off to T in the Park at the weekend! God knows how Im going to cope.

At the best of times, anytime I move I need to pee and Im going to be in a field for 2 days relying on minging portaloos. This will be my fourth time there so I know what to expect and were normally drinking loads of water, especially if the weather is good. Anyone got any suggestions on how to to control the old bladder lol

Hi Pollyanna, ive had the same problem and went to see my GP today he thinks sciatica. but having looked it up on the internet i now think i have pelvic girdle pain http://www.babycentre.co.uk/pregnancy/antenatalhealth/physicalhealth/pelvicgirdlepain/#8
i have been given some tablets to help with the pain and have been referred to a physiotherapist. im hoping the next 18 weeks fly by as i dont think i can take much more of this pain.

    hope you feel better soon

    Hi All

This probably sounds silly as I am only in my 6th week.... But i keep having strange dreams about bringing baby home from the hospital.

With my other two we had a car and were told they wouldn't let us out the hospital without a car seat, which they watched us strap into the car with baby and they made sure everything was safe. Well we now don't have a car so will have to either get the bus home or a taxi. Will they let me just put baby into pram and wheel into a black cab, as if my boys come up with dad to collect me we won't fit into a standard car anyway??
Or else I was thinking aybe i could carry baby in sling and we could ctch the bus from outside the hospital, it pulls up almost directly outside my house anyway so won't involve a lot of walking.

I just have no idea how this works. I do't want to be held hostage in the hospital as they think I am not taking my baby home safely!!!!

Like I say I know it is such early days at the moment but it is affecting my sleep.

    Mel x
