Where we live you need to have a car seat if travelling home in a car or taxi and I think by law a baby has to be in a carseat or carrycot with adapters to strap it down. If you are never going to travel by car with this baby would you be able to borrow one from a friend which would save you having to buy one:p19.6.10 Weight loss 6lb0

I don't know anyone really, I could borrow one off. My boys would almost definately have to come up to collect me with dh so there will be 5 of us, so we couldn't fit in car type taxi, it would have to be a black cab.
I think this is one for the midwife to answer......Although I am not planning on registering with the doc/midwife for another couple of weeks.

Lwcus78- Can i just say thankyou- it has been confirmed that i've got Bell's Palsy. My gp was useless and im not sure if i hadn't mentionned it he'd have taken much notice. Luckily he rang up the hospital who called me in straight away and did tests etc and confirmed it. I spent a very looooong evening in the hopsital, which i hated, but now ive got my answer and will be popping back in later for the meds and eye drops/patch as the pharmacy had shut for the night.
I also found out my iron levels are border line-so ive been given iron tablets to take too, which could well explain my dizzy spells etc.
Pregnancy isnt as easy as some people make out lol.

i have been given some tablets to help with the pain and have been referred to a physiotherapist. im hoping the next 18 weeks fly by as i dont think i can take much more of this pain.
hope you feel better soon
Thanks for that. I've done a bit of looking around and I think I hae PGP as well and not sciatica. I'm seeing my midwife tomorrow, so will ask her. Even if they can't do anything, suppose I better mention it as I read somewhere that it can make giving birth "uncomfortable." As if it's not uncomfortable enough!
Can the midwife give me anything? Or is she allowed to refer me anywhere? Or are only doctors allowed to? My midwife is at my gp's surgery if that makes any difference.Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

Now I realise that we are very early on at 5 weeks to be considering baby names but hubby has bought me a 'bump organiser' because he knows how obsessive I can be and giving me a special place to keep all baby-related information will reduce my stress levels no end!! One of the sections that we can get started on now is the baby names section.
Does anyone know of a downloadable/printable list of baby names - I know we could buy a book but there has got to be a more MSE way to do things than that...and I am not sure I could bring myself to write in a book.
Hubby says he would quite like us to spend some time going through them crossing out ones that we don't like. I think that anything that will take my mind off how wretched I am feeling and make me focus on the end product has got to be a good thing!please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -

Hi
Have a look at this forum, it will have you hooked. The stickys at the top have lists of the best naming websites and also the top 1000 names for boys and girls from National Statistics that you can print off if you want to.
P.S. I have been stressing about this for months, with many changes, and hubby and I actually found the right name for us on my due date 2 days ago (no baby yet)!!!
Good luck0 -
Glad it's all sorted Keely (well I think the hrase all sorted is actually a bit of a stretch but I couldn't think of a better way fo putting it!) (btw tip I read which you'll prolly already know but, take your iron tablets with fresh orange juice as they can, er, bung you up a bit *beam*)
MFD, I love this website, you can put in names you like and it'll suggest others for you :-) (Not hugely printable I grant you but still a fab website!)
I had my 28 blood test today which I didn't enjoy. The waiting room was really hot so I felt all dizzy and wussy. I didn't sleep well last night as I felt ill hence the wussiness but still, I plan to spend today horizontal and eating biscuits to help me feel better after giving them what felt like an entire armful! (She just didn't seem to stop with the vials!) At some point I'm going to have to bes less of a wimp aren't I ;-)Comping, freebieing and trying to pay the mortgage off early!0 -
