i rung the midwife services at my local hospital who advised me to take a couple of paracetomol and to ring back at around 9pm, the pains are still happening but the pink disharge has stopped, she said it doesnt sound like labour and advised me to sleep with a pillow between my legs to help relieve pressure in my pelvic area and on my back, she did say if the pains got worse then to ring back and they would admit me.
She also advised that i explain everything that happened to my midwife and the midwife will then decided on whether i need an examination and then if 1 is needed she will admit me to the hospital if that makes sense.
Edited to add: I havent had sex so that shouldnt be the reason of the pink disharge. I only got treated for thrush a few weeks ago and my tests for it 2 weeks ago came back as clear so fingers crossed its not back.
many thanks for your replies, i guess it was common sense to ring the midwife but i was terrified incase there was something wrong/early labour - which i know doesnt make sense as hospital/talking to midwife would of been the right course of action - im just abouseltly terrified to the fact that the baby is going to come within the next 7 week (if he comes by my due date) plus people keep telling me there experiences which really isnt helping especially as ive asked them to stop, aswell people remarks e.g labours going to be like pushing out a sofa with people sitting on it im makes me want to scream in frustration.
thanks again

JoJob - How did it go with your appointment:TDue Date: 7th June 2008 - Its a boy!! :T0 -
awww cookie dont worry to much because for all the horror story labours you here theres nicer ones aswell.i cant say its pain free because its not but it is true its a pain u forget soon enough you think you never will but you do.
so long as u try to stay calm and relaxed ul be fine.
i to had swabs taken a few weeks back they only showed thrush and they have done some more at the hospital due to my pink discharge(yucky isnt it) so will see what they come back as this time.
my first labour was over in an hour and my second over in 20 minutes so it shows everyone is different.riley john born june 28th 2.35pm-8lb14.5 hour labour from waters to birth.0 -

Aww its been ages since i posted here.
Pollyanna the alfa boot is ok depending on what param you have.
Cookie - ignore the labour stories seriously i think some people get a peverse thrill out of scaring pregnant women. I gave birth in October 2006 and i'm due in July. I am not some pain lover sadist woman so I can assure you i would not be doing this all over again if it was half as bad as some make out. My daughter was 8lb 9 as well.MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000 -
Cookie08,
I'm a bit of a wuss when it comes to some types of pain, so I wasn't looking forward to the pain part of the birth of my son when he decided to appear 6 days early 2 weeks ago. All I can say is that there are drugs available which make the pain go away. Paracetamol or Co-dydramol (both of which the hospital will offer) probably won't cut it - they didn't for me, but Gas & Air and Epidurals are fantastic in my opinion. I personally didn't get on with Pethedine and won't be asking for that next time.
Yes there were times when I was in pain, but it is a good pain, as it means you will end up with your bundle of joy at the end of it. I wouldn't have been talking with my DP about baby no 2 right after our son was born otherwise!!0 -

Thanks for that. I've just about managed to learn to drive that car, so really don't want to have to change it!
Can any recommend a good pram/buggy? BF is set on the Ultima 8-in-1, but the price makes me want to faint. He loves the fact it does so many things, but I think some of them are unecessary.
Basically we want a pram/buggy that also comes with a car seat and maybe does some of the fancy things the one above does, but because we are complete novices, not even sure what to type in on my internet browser or what to look for!
Suppose I should go and measure the boot really to see how big we can go.Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

HoneyBe - Hya honey thanks for your reply, so far i havent heard of any nicer labour stories yet, wow your labours was over quite quickly. People seem to forget that last March i was with my cousin when she had her lil boy so i sorta of know what to expect and she was in labour for 3 days so i know im not going to blow the lil man out lol. Luckly for me the pinkish disharge has stopped, my midwife today didnt seem bothered by it and said it was probably just a show, i have to go back in 3 weeks time (il be nearly 36 weeks then how time has flown by only seems like yesterday i found out) then every week after that.
Goodluck with your results.
LilacPixie - I agree people must love terrifying first time mums, my sister hasnt even had a baby and shes still trying to terrify me (its her that makes the comments about the sofa with people on it).
Snugglepuss - Im also a wuss when it comes to pain, congratulations on Peter David by the way, I did my birthing plan with my midwife today and told her i want gas and air and epidurals, was you really on about baby #2 after the birth  .
Pollyanna - i'll be using http://www.just4baby.co.uk for my pram/travel system, delivery is within 3-5 days and free delivery if you spend over £75, the travel system im getting literally comes with everything that i will need including footmuffs, rain cover, changing bag, car seat etc and its only £139.99 and can be used from newborn till CJ is 3 years old (even tho i know il get another pram before then). Also i havent seen any1 with the pram i want, which makes it even better as i didnt want the same pram as every1. Goodluck
Sorry for long reply i just wanted to thank every1 for replying back to me and give pollyanna the website.
By the way id like peoples views on skin to skin contact once the baby born, i would prefer baby passed to my mum so i can get cleaned up (makes me sound really heartless doesnt it) as i remember when my cousin had her son they plonked him on her and she had to beg the midwife for help as he was sliding towards the floor and she was too tired to move/grab him but they refused and told her to stop being silly (he really was sliding tho) in the end i took him off her and passed him to the midwife so he could get wrapped up and placed under the light thingy to get his temperature up so this has made me paranoid. Your views would be great.

Cookie - I got to the hospital at 18.10 and just over 1 hour later Ruby was born weighing 8lb 1oz - it was painful but gas and air is great - i remember asking for an epidural and the midwifes said 'the heads already out' so thats how quick I was lol Anyway they put Ruby straight to me for skin to skin contact and it was lovely... I didnt have this with my dd1 (now 14) and would certainly recommend it:p19.6.10 Weight loss 6lb0

Cookieo8-I think my midwife thought I was a heartless moo, when I said, I wanted the baby wiped before It is placed on me.I'm sorry, but that is my preference.I have always requested the same for the other 3 as well.Apparently a bath is out of the question for 6 hours now, so hopefully it will be a thorough wipe, as the thought of bits of vernix and blood stuck in it's hair for 6 hours,I don't particularly fancy, lol.:A Your Always in my heart, you never ever will be forgotten-9/9/14:heart2:0

Hi. Been ttc since march 07 with absolutely no luck, we are both in our early 20s and fit and healthy. don't drink or smoke or take drugs which we know can affect fertility. we feel stuck as my period seems random from between 26 - 39 days. its very strange we end up spending a fortune on ovulaton kits which never seems to help. has anyone got any ideas. pls help we are desperate for a baby of our own,
good luck to everyone else who is ttc:A VK :A0
