i have a two door micra and have purchased a bebecar rversus which fits in boot and still room for dog! i also live in the sticks! i dont see a problem with my car and bubba although if i had 9k to spend i would buy a four door! measure ur boot and check out dimensions of buggies!

I too have a 2-door micra (older model) and we thought we needed something bigger. We were so organised that OH got his family car only last week and we have been getting about in my micra perfectly comfortably. We even did Christmas - mother's for three days, so packed the whole house, mountain of presents, and large dog. With space left over for the two of us and baby!
I have the urban detour btw - fits in the boot without parcel shelf.

Thanks for all you advice re cars. I think its going to be a 5dr fiesta.

Poppyjoe, Isn't it horrible. The motion sickness bands are quite good for me but nothing else helps really. I am 9 weeks now and its gradually got worse over last 3 weeks (sorry, not what u want to hear). I feel worse mornings and evenings so I try to eat well lunchtime. I cant keep my breakfast down at all and I dont each much in the evenings. I cant wait for it to go because other than that I feel ok. People in my work know, I work for a small company and we're all quite close. I told them at 7 weeks and 3 of them told me they knew anyway because I looked green!! I wouldn't have been able to hide it from the others anyway as I'm regularly running to the loo.
Hope we'll both feel better soon.
    xx

Thanks traveller, I'm seeing a midwife on Wednesday (first time in 12 weeks!) so will discuss it with her then, I didn't realise you were assigned to a different team but I've still got 3 months to go so I assume it's not too late to change my mind. Will you buy/hire a birth pool? Do they give you a good idea of what you need to prepare? Sorry for all the questions!

Hi, ask as many questions as you like! I'm not using a birth pool. They usually book you in around 7 months-although probably depends on the area i 'spose. Two weeks ago, I was given a list of what I needed.Basically plastic sheets to protect furniture, a torch-to check tears ect, a bucket-for the placenta, towels and snacks for the midwife(that was on the list)! It depends again on the area, as friends of mine basically provided nothing and the midwife had everything she needed.

They ask you what room you want to have it in and they just make sure there's no obvious problems with the room, they make sure you have heating and running hot water.I find the one on one care very attentive as quite a bit has changed since I had my last, almost 9 years ago and I'm full of questions, lol.

They will only deliver you from 37 weeks though and I was glad when i got to this saturday as i'm now 37+2 so all being well i should be able to have it at home. They will only allow it if your low risk and there is no foreseeable complications.

Hi, thanks for asking about cars as I was going to ask that -then forgot, pregnancy brain, lol!I too had a 5 door fiesta in mind as I had a 3 door years ago and for the four of us it was quite spacious.

I'm 37 weeks now and I thnk my morning sickness dissapeared around 12-14 weeks, very suddenly.Sorry, I had to laugh when you said people said you were turning green!

    Thanks lwcus

I had a good day yesterday and I wasn't actually sick, plenty of thinking i was going to be but no actual sickness! Fingers crossed for today. I noticed yesterday that I was feeling worse morning and night as well. I enjoyed my lunch for the first time in days! I suppose it is just eating when you can!

People at my work have already had me down for being pregnant twice in the last year so it is really just be being stubborn wanting to keep it from them but in reality they would be so supportive so if I need to then I will. I am a teacher so it is going to be fun need to run out of the class!

As for the car lwcus my friend has two young boys (only 13 months between them!) and she has a fiesta as well. She was at mine yesterday and I had a good look, plenty of room for two big car seats in the back and enough room for a double buggy. So I suppose the fiesta would even be fine if you had twins!

Hope everyone has a good day!

Hi ladies, well after having several days of feeling fat more then pregnant-my friend put a smile on my face by telling me she couldnt understand where id put the weight on (my bum doesnt seem to have got too big then lol). And my lovely sister said i looked great (wasnt feeling it, dry cracked lips because my nose is STILL stuffy and i breathe through mouth at night) and feeling really tired as feeling achey at night n so tossing and turning a lot!

Probably TMI-but my sex drive seems to have gone up too (OH has gone to work happy today!).

    keely.

I was supposed to be at hospital this morning to get the results of my 24 hour wee collection, but mw called me to say he had the results and protein was unusually high, so I am going in to see a consultant this afternoon for a full medical review instead. Looks like pre-eclampsia is a real possibility now what with my high BP.

Does anyone know what the upshot is? Do they try and speed things up by inducing or will they try and whip me in for a c-section? Funnily enough i thought something was about to happen last night. Really strong Braxtons woke me up and kept me awake for a couple of hours. Then thought maybe they are real contractions - but then I fell asleep and they've stopped now. But hopefully it is a sign something is imminent!

    hey jojo

all the best for your appointment this afternoon.

not sure but i think it depends on how bad you get (i know thats not what you want to hear), it was a good few many years ago but when my mum was having me she had pre-eclampsia and she was induced.

just really posting to wish you luck this afternoon x
