Re: all the people with heartburn. I haven't experienced this yet, but am fully expecting it some time soon as I'm not that far behind some of you. What exactly is heartburn? Is it a burning sensation in the throat or when your food repeats on you?

My bf thought I was making fun of him last night. He told me had heartburn. I siad he was getting all the pregnancy symptoms for me. Including the weight gain, heehee.

Ive been getting heartburn which feels like burning in my tummy, and indigestion which is like acid coming back up in my throat which then makes me feel sick if i lie down . Ive only had this at xmas when over indulging too muh on naughty food! So this isnt nice-as i can just eat a very light, healthy meal or snack and still get it! :o

lostbuckaroos- no i have nothing to help at the minute grrr.

im so cross today im shaking with anger.my physio which i need to go is the same time as my midwife next week which i also need to see to get my test results back to find out what the pink discharge was and if it was a show as i suspect, well apprently she cant fit me in apart from the appt i had so i now have to wait till the 29th to see her plus i need my maternity grant from filling out which should have been done at the same time so i will now be 31 weeks before its even signed and looking at upto 4 weeks wait for it talk about shopping when u drop il be 35-36 weeks and huge at the latest, and can i get in touch with the midwife NO her fones off constantly for 2 days she only works a TUESDAY how bad is that.so i now have to wait 2 weeks for test results that are done in 3 days as she never bothers to check them till u see her and 2 weeks till i can get my forms signed or i dont go the physio and suffer with my back just to see her what a great choice to make.
    grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
and my stupid sky is broken and wont pick up the dish signal so cant distract myself with mindless tv GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

  • Oh, honeybee - hugs!

Makes me feel really bad for getting excellent care over here. I've been on crutches since about 20 weeks and get to see my physio every week and she makes a great effort to fit me in. I'm surprised that your midwife gets to be so lax - what if there was something urgent to report? I would have thought there would have to be some sort of system in place for that.

Have you had a look at pelvicpartnership.org? Might be worth getting in touch to see if they can help you out in any way. It's not fun being in pain all the time which I think can be made worse when you get the attitude that your babies health is more important than yours. All that pain and it's classed as a minor complication...

But do take care. TV is rubbish today anyway - bring back Fern from her holidays!

    Victoria - RE TTC

I found it happened for us as soon as I gave up on the idea of ever being able to TTC. My periods had stopped and the ovulation tests I had done at home indicated that I wasn't ovulating. Blood tests at the Dr's showed I wasn't ovulating...so I stopped testing, kind of gave up and stopped having sex on specific days "just in case." As soon as I stopped thinking about it, it happened.

Not thinking about TTC is the hardest thing in the world to do, but once you stop piling on the pressure it helps. Good luck x

Had my anomoly scan today...well, sort of! Arrived at the hospital but they didn't have the correct form, even though they had lost the first one and m/wife had to fill in a second one. They found the form so I went for my scan. Was asked how many weeks I was and when I replied 18 she said she couldn't do the scan as I need to be 20 weeks!

Almost in tears at this point so she says she will look ata baby anyway and then make me another appointment. Doesn't give me much confidemce in them!

Anyway, everything looked fine, although the heart can't be checked properly yet so they'll do that in two weeks...and we found out we're having a girl!!!!!!!!!

Keeley hope the heart burn gets better. I've been lucky so far and am not really suffering with anything at the mo except headaches.

Hope everyone has a good day x

That's the one I've got! Bloody annoying! I tend to get it whenever I'm on medication (but no other time) so I'm fairly used to it now! Just don't burp lying down I discovered!

Pollyanna, I think everyone gets it towards the end becuase you're tummy shoved so high up due to the sprogling being in the way but I think think a lot of us get it earlier on *sigh*

Emjem, I also have headaches too (seriously I think I might just get everything!). Apparantly it's increased fluid in your eyes makes them strain more. I find it's much better if I take regular screen breaks, make sure I wear my reading glasses and drink two litres of water a day, then I pee even more which is fun. Hope that helps although I'm probably telling you what you already know!

Honeybe, hugs for your appointments all going in the wrong place, I hope they all get sorted soon for you

edit: Forgot to say congrats on the little girl emjem!

Just a little rant! Im really annoyed with heartburn and indigestion :o its making me feel really sick when i go to bed-im going to have to ask the gp for something that will work as i cant keep going on like this. people have been telling me gaviscon is great-but its sooooo expensive and id end up geting through loads at this rate! rennies are ok, but not totally working.

    Hi Keelycat!

You can get Gaviscon liquid for FREE on prescription with your maternity exemption certificate. Either make an appointment with your GP or if desperate ring them up and they'll probably do it without an appointment - they're well aware that pregnant women NEED Gaviscon!

I agree with you, it's awful. I hate those sicky burps in bed at night

    Hi all

It's months since I posted but I have dipped in to read the posts now and again. Congrats to all who now have their little bundles and good luck to those who are still waiting.

My reason for posting is just to say I'm off to Hospital on Sunday for a planned section on Monday morning. It will be my third section and I am so glad the end is near. Been on crutches for 4 weeks due to twisted pelvis which weight of baby is aggravating. 36 week scan indicated baby is between 10 - 11lbs so only to be expected really.

Indigestions is dreadful and I noticed op mentoned Gaviscon is free on prescription. Can I also add that if you needed to get some relief from medication quickly and hadn't got a prescription, you can get something similar from the Chemist for free under the "minor ailments" scheme. It's been a real boost for me because I kept forgetting to phone/email for a repeat prescription then I would have to wait 2 days so to just walk in to my local chemist and get it was brilliant. Don't forget to register baby when he/she arrives as many things like Calpol are under the same scheme.

Well, bag/s mostly packed. Been busy cooking and tidying up the house for the week I am away. Nervous about the operation but looking forward to the outcome. Don't know the sex as our unit don't tell. Convinced myself and everyone around it is another boy (no 3) so will get a huge but lovely shock if it is a girl.

No names yet which is worrying. We have unusual names for the other 2 so need to find something which fits in with them and is just as unique.

    Must quit blethering.
