    Hi all

It's months since I posted but I have dipped in to read the posts now and again. Congrats to all who now have their little bundles and good luck to those who are still waiting.

My reason for posting is just to say I'm off to Hospital on Sunday for a planned section on Monday morning. It will be my third section and I am so glad the end is near. Been on crutches for 4 weeks due to twisted pelvis which weight of baby is aggravating. 36 week scan indicated baby is between 10 - 11lbs so only to be expected really.

Indigestions is dreadful and I noticed op mentoned Gaviscon is free on prescription. Can I also add that if you needed to get some relief from medication quickly and hadn't got a prescription, you can get something similar from the Chemist for free under the "minor ailments" scheme. It's been a real boost for me because I kept forgetting to phone/email for a repeat prescription then I would have to wait 2 days so to just walk in to my local chemist and get it was brilliant. Don't forget to register baby when he/she arrives as many things like Calpol are under the same scheme.

Well, bag/s mostly packed. Been busy cooking and tidying up the house for the week I am away. Nervous about the operation but looking forward to the outcome. Don't know the sex as our unit don't tell. Convinced myself and everyone around it is another boy (no 3) so will get a huge but lovely shock if it is a girl.

No names yet which is worrying. We have unusual names for the other 2 so need to find something which fits in with them and is just as unique.

    Must quit blethering.

    A

Good luck and thanks for mentioning about the chemists-had no idea.I know exactly what you mean about the name thing. My last 2 have have unusual names.I'm fine if it's a girl-but if it's a boy-i've no idea, lol.I just can't find anything that feels right!

    Hi Keelycat!

You can get Gaviscon liquid for FREE on prescription with your maternity exemption certificate. Either make an appointment with your GP or if desperate ring them up and they'll probably do it without an appointment - they're well aware that pregnant women NEED Gaviscon!

I agree with you, it's awful. I hate those sicky burps in bed at night

I know already, which is why ive been waiting for my next appointment with my gp. is a waste of his time just for gaviscon! lol :o ill be going for my bp med-so will ask then.

Congrats to the new arrivals!! Good grief I can't be that far up already can I??

Keely, while you are waiting for your appointment (altho going for gaviscon is not a waste of a docs time as prolonged heartburn can cause more damage in the long run!) I would try extra strong mints. They havn't done me wrong so far and this is my third pregnancy, so hopefully they may do some good for you!! :)

Right someone wanted good labour stories instead of horror ones, sorry become rather forgetful this pregnancy, so whoever it was I have 2!

1st labour was 8 hrs long, quite swift for a first. Had a waterbirth with gas and air. Tbh could of done without it, but couldn't have husband thinking I was having too easy time of it! DS slid out with no stitches required, and no I ain't got a bucket :p the water helped soften me up.

2nd labour didn't even realise it was happening, thought I had braxton hicks so got in the bath to ease them. They seemed to stop, there was certainly no pain. Next thing waters break in the bedroom and 10 mins later my DD was born on the floor with a paramedic crew just in time to catch her. It might seem scary but it was great, no pain, no stitches and over and done with very quickly!

I am now awaiting to hear if I can have a homebirth this time as I have a record of fast labours, lol. The only thing stopping me so far is my high blood pressure, it's coming down tho and hopefully will be down enough in time!

Infact the only horrors I have are in pregnancy, birth is a complete doddle compared to that!! :rotfl:
I live in my own little world, but it's ok as everyone knows me here :)

    keely.

Bit late to tell you this but you can try on Monday. I went in and asked the receptionists if the doctor would write me a Gaviscon precription (figuring that it would either be a yes or a no!) when I went back in a couple of hours there was a precription waiting. No seeing the doctor! I think they now you're pregnant and they know you're going to get heartburn and since you could buy it you're only asking for the prescription as it's cheaper. Well free!

They might say no but it's worth ringing, or popping into your doctors and having a chat :-) Hope that helps :-)

Hi Carol and Paradise Kid - Good to have a couple of other bods with similar due dates :) All going well with me so far... though still cant' STAND the smell of eggs!!! weird...

Keely - I had a problem when my midwife was on holiday for 2 weeks (typically!) and I phoned the community midwives office at my local hospital. They were really lovely and gave me lots of advice. One of them even phoned back the next day to see how I'd got on!

Congrats JoJoB - fab name! Can't wait to hear more.

I don't know about everyone else, but its fab coming on here and having a flick through to see what everyone else is going through - It makes me feel much better to know others are going through the same thing
