ty helen for your advice, ive tried pillows but im a bit stuck as the baby lies all on my sides so you can imagine sleeping is very difficult cant sleep on my back, belly or sides lol.im hoping this physio will help both problems i have.

siren-i think kids do go through a temper stage i know my son has done and its alot worse when im grumpy as the kids pick up on it and become grumpy aswell.i try to explain when i feel bad that im no grumpy with them im just grumpy at myself and if im a bit mean or snappy then im very sorry and he seems to understand so does my girl shes 3 now and hes 5.
if he thinks your treating him like a baby perhaps you could let him help at shopping like ask him to get u things u need that are at his hieght,my kids love to do little chores aswell makes them feel grown up for example they empty the washer and fill it up only when im there though obv, they tidy thier rooms when they make a mess aswell.

  • Hi HelenD !!! I'm due the 6th August !!! We are having a boy and he's kicking me like mad at the moment :-) I can't wait - are you dead excited? I;ve also been doing pregnancy yoga which feels great, as if I'm really preparing myself for birth (I'm 21, first baby).

    Hope your well xxx

Oh dear, Keely - sounds like you are having a bad day!

Apparently (and this may be complete nonsense - but give it a go!) if you raise the head of your bed by a couple of inches (using a bit of wood or something) then this helps with heartburn, as your head is higher than your feet.

I imagine that this may not help if you get swollen feet - but you never know - it mayhelp!! ;)

I have been trying to sit up a bit in bed which does seem to help a bit :o

Hiya everyone, congratulations to everyone that have found out they are pregnant:j

    Hope everyone is feeling well

keelykat- I would recommend gaviscon too I went through nine of the largest bottles through my pregnancy, it really was awful even water would give me heartburn believe it or not. The liquid one seemed to work best for me. My gp gave me it free on prescription otherwise it would have cost me £90:eek: hope you can get something to help ease yours a little.

Cookie08- I wouldn't listen to all those birth stories I got told some awful ones, really dont know why people feel the need to have to tell them I was scared to death by them all, but when it came to it, it was all forgotten. My midwife friend once said to me pain relief is there for a reason so if you need it then take it, so i took her advice lol

Trying to tear myself away from this thread and go to the parenting one but dont feel quite ready yet:o

  • Keely, it's not fun, is it? My midwife suggested zantac instead of gaviscon as I was throwing up and have a terrible cough all the time. Got it from the doc today and it seems to be working. I tried some Gillian Mckeith solutions as well (I was getting really desperate)- pear juice, peach juice, mango pear juice and banana smoothies and fennel tea. If your throat hurts the pear and peach mixed together is quite soothing as is the fennel tea- if you like that sort of thing.

Honeybee - hope the classes help. Do you have crutches and a belt to help you walk? I've been using a wheelchair when I'm out shopping which helps keep me sane - if you can self propel than you don't need someone with you all the time! I've been seeing a reflexologist on top of physio every week which has doubled the benefit although I'm still slower than a snail. Really can't wait to have the baby & lose the pain. Hopefully they don't cross over too much

Siren, I know exactly how you feel! For some reason when kids misbehave, everyone becomes a child expert and gives you 'that' look:rolleyes: ignore them you've got enough on your plate-it does calm down though. That is until they become a teen:eek: I'm having those pleasures now, lol!

RJH-Where has the time gone!!!I too am counting down to finishing work-I finish a day before my suppossed due date as I'm always late!I too am swollen and getting false alarms now-really strong contractions, that can go on for hours then subside and go.My 11 year old is so excited and everytime she sees me contracting ,she literally eggs the baby on to make it's entrance, lol.
I'm kind of nesting, but the kids just undo everything within hours of me tidying and It's just so frustrating:mad:

Im really annoyed with heartburn and indigestion :o

Amen to that sister! Also scoffing a Rennie at night, also helping but not enough! My friend told me to pop down to my doctors and have a chat with reception to see if a doctor will just write a prescription to pick up so I'm off down there in a bit! (I need a pee pot anyway so not a wasted journey if they say no!)

I was gutted as I thought I'd got it really early and it was a sign of doom to come! But I feel better knowing I'm not alone as we're only a few days apart!

Re: all the people with heartburn. I haven't experienced this yet, but am fully expecting it some time soon as I'm not that far behind some of you. What exactly is heartburn? Is it a burning sensation in the throat or when your food repeats on you?

My bf thought I was making fun of him last night. He told me had heartburn. I siad he was getting all the pregnancy symptoms for me. Including the weight gain, heehee.
