I'm still debating the breast pump. Was this the manual or electric one?
Its the manaul one - i got all the stuff half price when Tesco did their baby week! Its really easy you use, I would reccomend it.

I hope it is correct that my daughter is having a girl too. A colleague of my husbands had a grandchild recently which they had been expecting to be a girl and it turned out to be a boy. The colleague very kindly gave my husband some baby girl clothes for our grandchild thoughSame old same old since 20080

:rotfl: :rotfl: I thought this too, ah well. Apparently, it's only in recent years that pink was for a girl and blue for a boy. Boys in times gone by were dressed as girls to ward off evil spirits from taking them, soo I suppose you could always try that as an excuse if they got it wrong, but I think people would just look at you mad these days :rotfl: :rotfl::j Mom of 1-Erin Louise born 11.4.08:j0 -
for the person who was told by others they wont poo in labour i hate to be the bearer of bad news but chances are u will.i was lucky didnt with my first but did with my 2nd on the way to the hospital in a tiny car half way there so i cudnt sit in the seat had to crouch in the back seat in the middle only to be asked on arrival to sit in a wheel chair while i was wheeled to the labour ward to which my reply was a rather quietned "i cant i pood myself" so i had to put my knees on the seat and face backwards through the reception lol, where i was then washed and accidently locked in a toilet by the new student midwife who was more panicked than me and forgot to remove the lock bless her the other mw then asked if i wanted to keep my underwear to wash it the answer was no lol.riley john born june 28th 2.35pm-8lb14.5 hour labour from waters to birth.0

ooh, you've all answered the questions before i got a chance...see what happens when you take a day away from the pc!
But I'll comment anyway -
Nuchal scan is better and more sensitive than triple test and i found it well worth the money just for the attitude to me from the private clinic rather than NHS. You're paying for a service when you go private rather than the NHS scan which is for the health providers to assess the foetus's wellbeing...your concerns are kind of incidental.
Heartbeat - had the same response as m_dorph, but i think the m/w did try to find the heartbeat at around 16 wks and couldn't, so had to say not to worry as it was tricky to find before 20 wks. They still had probs pinpointing it during labour as some machines/dopplers have to be in the exact spot to pick it up!
Shaving - wish i had, due to having emcs, m/w had to shave me to prep me forthe op. Stubble regrowth is hell.On the plus side, i didn't have to worry about the poo issue

i think im definatlyready for the poo thing this time. the best thing i ever heard about labour is to leave your dignity at the door as you go in and pick it up again on the way out. its certainly true.
i just watched dawn gets a baby and was shocked that no1 seemed to shave on there. i thought everyone did. oh well must just be me thats doesnt want a midwife doing it. id rather get my poor dh to do it lol.back to comping in 2017, fingers crossed :beer:0 -
I wont be shaving 'down there' .... will be least of my worries, im having a baby not having a photo shoot lol. Didnt realise it was such an issue? Do the midwife/docs etc really care or notice how much hair is down there? If i knew i was having a c-section i would just because my sister said they made a right mess with her the first time (complications-didnt expect a c section) and so she would suggest doing it yourself.
Already been told about the number two thing, again im not too concerned about it-now i know its normal. If i hadnt known id probably be mortified at the hospital!
Ive been asking my mom and sister lots of questions to try and get a bit prepared mentally.

Oh hadn't thought about the number 2 issue! Going to leave that one for a bit later on me thinks!
I saw Dawn gets a baby too...it made me cry when they gave birth
I'm hoping to hear the heart beat tomorrow...for a bit of reassurance and also to see If I can tell the sex -
********Don't read this if you want a suprise! Apparently a low heart beat of around 140 can indicate a girl...boys HB are much faster****************
Has anyone had someone do the wedding ring thing on them yet to find out the sex? Someone did it to me on Monday and I'm having a boy! Can you tell I can't wait to find out!
Hope everyone's keeping well x:A I can fly :A0 -
having just had my fourth child i can and having 'pooed' myself each time - i can tell you that you have no need to feel embarrassed about it. The midwifes have seen everything before. I have never shaved, having had 4 natural deliveries and it was never mentioned to me.now mum of 4!!!0

I'm pretty sure I didn't poo myself giving birth to my 2 daughters , but I was given an enema and my daughter thinks they don't do that anymore , is that correct? If it is why don't they give them anymore?Same old same old since 20080
