I love my tommee tippee closer to nature bottles -Daisy swaps between breast and bottle very easily. So they are a thumbs up from me - oh and the steriliser and breast pump from the same range are fab. Especially the breast pump - which is very easy to use.
Hi Alison
I'm still debating the breast pump. Was this the manual or electric one?0 -
Anyone near Cardiff??
My baby boy is now 4 months old. Is there anyone on here who lives near Cardiff and has just had/expecting a baby boy? I have a large bag of clothes nb - 3 months - vests, sleepsuits, jackets,, outfits. Lots hardly worn - good makes incl Next/John rocha etc. Free to a good home - tried my local freecycle but not happy with the people who replied (want anything I offer and also ask for car boot items!)
I also have a large bag of shaped nappies - Daisy's (like Tots), Sandys and some others that I can't remember name of. Have wraps too but some may need replacing as I think they leak a bit. Nappies suitable from newborn - 3 months (maybe longer but I have a chubby boy). Well used - 3 children but plenty of life left. Again free
PM if interested

Hi everyone, not been on for a while.
Can't remember who was asking about the Nuchal scan? We decided to have one as it's a lot more accurate than the NHS test so I reasoned that there may be less chance of having to have an amnio because the results would be more definitive. They still can't give a direct yes or no but I found it reassuring. Taking into account my history and age alone my chances were 1:450. After the Nuchal they came back as 1:2,500. Word of warning though...make sure your dates are correct as I was too early on to do the first test and still had to pay £60 for the priviledge of a quick 30 sec scan!
Got midwife on Thursday and I'm too looking forward to hearing the heart beat as I just don't feel pregnant at the moment! Although at nearly 17 weeks I do have an impressive bump at the mo!
Have a good day everyone x:A I can fly :A0 -

Do most people tidy their bikini line / shave fully or such likes before giving birth??
i shaved the lot of before the birth of my ds. i just couldnt bear the thjought of them doing it for me in hospital or them saying there was to much. id have died of embarresment. although god knows what they thought of nothing lol. i think its each to their own. you have all these thoughts of what could embaress you before hand but once your in there you really have no dignity. then when you think its been the worst you poo when pushing lol. well i did anyway. everyone said no you wont poo your body shuts it all down but no i did. i think it had something to do with being induced though as noah wasnt coming out for anything
(sorry if tmi)back to comping in 2017, fingers crossed :beer:0 -
I'm seeing the consultant for my 16/17 week check rather than a midwife (don't ask) has anyone else had this and did they still listen for the heartbeat?
Ok I can now answer my own question! Had a quick hello with the midwife before blood taken for the tiple test (all my other blood results came back positively perfectIn fact my iron levels seem to be so good you could actually make a decent sword out of me! lol) and I asked her what would happen at the consultant 16/17 week check she said: wee check, blood pressure check, weight, tummy prod, heart beat listen! So that answers my question then!
Thanks for the ressurance chaps :-)
btw, don't give me more bump envy emjem I really haven't grown an inch! In fact if it wasn't for the chuffing sickness I could just carry on wearing the clothes I was before *grumpy face* I want a bump! (I reserve the right to want to send it back when it turns up!) ;-) Have a lovely midwife app though emjem :-)Comping, freebieing and trying to pay the mortgage off early!0 -
Hi!
It was me asking about the nuchal scan. I had to pay £145 for the priviledge.
I must admit I wasn't too concerned about the test as we are fairly young, but I did want to see the baby floating around the scan as my area doesn't do 12 week scans.
And oh my lord, it was so worth the money and I am usually such a tighta***!
Because we went private, it felt that little bit more nicer than the NHS. I was in there for a good 10-15 minutes or so (not sure what is the normal amount of time) and there was a plasma screen on the wall, so both me and bf were just staring at it agog while the lady took whatever measurements she needed for the actual scan.Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

Hmm.. Just been for my 16 week midwife appointment (I'm 16+3). She said they never listened for heart beat at this point since I would just be concerned if they couldn't find it :undecided What does she think I am now? I was so looking forward to it after all your comments on how you enjoyed it! So today it was just urine checked, weight, blood pressure and the blood tests for Downs etc.. Will take 3 weeks to get the results she said?
Just crossing my fingers everything is still ok and looking forward to the 20 week scan!0 -
m _dorph, wasnt sure if you were asking about the results. your downs test, if it comes back high you midwife phone you within a week. that what happen to me0

I wish I'd held back on the washing of all the clothes. Hadn't thought about them not fitting until after I'd washed them . Mind you I've only got a few newborn items and the rest are 0-3 months, I'm sure those will fit  .
Also, because we'd been told we're having a girl most of the clothes are pink, I really really hope they got it right.
We knew we were having a girl too but I did get nervous about it towards the end that they had a mistake. I am gutted about the clothes. I reckon we have at least £100 of clothes washed and ironed - they are in a box for the next one.. ha ha... better be a girl or else or little boy is going to look rather special!:heart2:Mum to my little Daisy 3 and Archie 1.:heart2:0
