Had a very good day today - finally feel everything is in place to give birth, so hurry up baby!
First I found a cheap birthing ball (4.99 from argos)
Then got my tens machine from tesco.
Then very cleverly fixed my hot water (have been without for 3 weeks while I await money to pay yet another plumber). Am so chuffed I managed to do it myself.
Shaved legs! Tidied bikini line! (I never knew how exhausting these tasks could be - or that I'd need mirrors)
Right. All set. C'mon bubba!2015 wins: Jan: Leeds Castle tickets; Feb: Kindle Fire, Years supply Ricola March: £50 Sports Direct voucher April: DSLR camera June: £500 Bingo July: £50 co-op voucher0 -

JojoB - hope labour kicks in soon and goes well.
Do most people tidy their bikini line / shave fully or such likes before giving birth??0 -
Nope - I did intend too but I couldn't reach or see my bikini line.... ha ha!:heart2:Mum to my little Daisy 3 and Archie 1.:heart2:0

Helloo ladies x
I am having a night of insomnia so thought I would add a few shopping ideas that I have found useful since having my little Daisy x
I love my tommee tippee closer to nature bottles -Daisy swaps between breast and bottle very easily. So they are a thumbs up from me - oh and the steriliser and breast pump from the same range are fab. Especially the breast pump - which is very easy to use.
Don't bother with disposable pants - I couldn't get mine on they we were soo tiny. My advice is to check out primark. I bought the microfibre shorts they sell (on hangers) and they were brilliant.
My live and die in trousers were these £17 ones from next CLICK ( I am still in them now).
I also love my underwired nursing bra from Anita - got mine using a discount code from figleaves and I love it CLICK.
A few other tips - don't wash all your baby clothes you have. I did this and as Daisy was so big I have box full of stuff that I cannot return and that she never wore - the newborn sizes are quite small really.
Bio-oil - personally I wouldn't bother as I am totally covered in stretchmarks - however I did have a bump that was measuring 46cm the last time they measured it.
Hope these help x Love Alison x:heart2:Mum to my little Daisy 3 and Archie 1.:heart2:0 -
Alison - You could be my twin - I also use the closer to nature range and Ruby has no problem taking a bottle if I am out or at night - I also bought the dummies as she constantly wants to feed from me. I am still in my next (comfiest pants ever) mat pants and I bought the microfibre shorts ( but from tesco)
Ruby feeds all day long but is only waking once in the night so I dont mind this.. I'd forgotton how lovely the newborn stage is ( DD is now 14) and am enjoying every minute of it.

Yes, it is a rather difficult task at the moment - and I have no idea what it looks like after my attempt. Just felt the urge to at least try as my bits are going to be on display. Gosh, it was exhausting doing all those ablutions though!
I'm another one who chose Primark pants over disposables. 7 pairs of big comfy pants for £3 - nobrainer really.
Tescos do good nursing bras for £5 too, for you ladies who are about to start stocking up on these things.
I am loving the birthing ball! It's ace bouncing up and down on it, and is also just the right height for putting my feet up on when they get puffy and swollen.2015 wins: Jan: Leeds Castle tickets; Feb: Kindle Fire, Years supply Ricola March: £50 Sports Direct voucher April: DSLR camera June: £500 Bingo July: £50 co-op voucher0 -

Hi Alison, I did have to look twice at the time you posted :rotfl: .
I wish I'd held back on the washing of all the clothes. Hadn't thought about them not fitting until after I'd washed them . Mind you I've only got a few newborn items and the rest are 0-3 months, I'm sure those will fit  .
Also, because we'd been told we're having a girl most of the clothes are pink, I really really hope they got it right.
