Hi all just a quick question I am currently 7 weeks and wont see a midwife until 13 weeks as they are fully booked. Anyway have been thinking of getting a doppler just for a bit of reassurance really. Does anyone have an experience of using one of these at home?

Slscarborough - I bought one of these but they are recommended from about 21 weeks - I think even a midwife wont usually hear the hearbeat until about 16 weeks so you wont be able to use it just yet... but you should have a scan around 12/13 weeks where you will be able to see the heart beating.

Congratulations nicci985 - power to the short pregnant people!! I'm one of them as well!

Chelseablue - I have to go somewhere with Virgin as it's all Tesco vouchers converted up (how MSE is that?!!) and I wanted somewhere that was all inclusive as I can use the vouchers for that, otherwise I have to spend my own money. All the Florida/New York ones (where I assume I don't need jabs) are room only and we can't afford spending money.

Purplegirl - the belly bar thing sounds great! I might have a quick look on ebay. I could get to Camden quite easily where there are probably dozens of piercing places, but I've always been a bit scared by that place!

I had my scan this morning and found out that I'm a week behind again!! So that's two weeks behind. The last scan I had she could only see the egg sac and no baby, so couldn't tell how far I was. Today the lady said I was 7 weeks and 2 days, so my date has been put back. It was so cool seeing the little lump that is going to turn into a baby and we could even see the flickering heartbeat which almost set me off. I feel I can relax a little now as it is growing (I had the early scans due to some bleeding which now (seeing as I'm not as far as I thought) seems to have been implatation bleeding).

Pollyanna – Glad the scan went well that is great news. I had a scan at about 9 weeks due to a bleed and they said I was about a week behind but when I had my 12 week scan (12 weeks by my original dates) they said I was about a week forward!!

Cor blimey! Aren't they all over the place? My bf came out with, "Maybe it's small cos all her family are short? Will that make a difference?" Teehee!! My bubba is 1cm long apparently according to the lady who did the scan. So not quite sure where all this extra weight has come from. I'm already in maternity trousers, eek! :eek:

Hi everyone, will update the list in a minute but had to tell you all that Ben was born yesterday morning, one week overdue, after about a 6 hour labour. BUN - wait for it, despite being told by everyone how small my bump was and baby would be small he weighed in at 8lb 11oz. Labour took longer and was far more painful than i thought it would be but managed with entenox and am soooo glad it is over - think that the sweep did the trick after all. Still bleeding but not too sore, no stitches or anything. Mainly afterpains when breastfeeding. Hope everyone else is doing OK. i'm a shortie too at 5'2''.
