I saw the midwife yesterday about the tightenings in my stomach as i have had them all day every day since seeing my Grandad so ill last Thursday and taken to hospital - i was starting to worry i was way to stressed and i was stressing the baby as she (or the bump) is constantly going very hard and into some very wierd and uncomfortable shapes!
I have also have lots of pain in my legs and down the side of my ladybits, my whole bump is very tender and i have a kind of pressure in my bum especially when i cough but she said i was boring as all of this was normal as the baby is 2/5 engaged which she said is the most she will go before labour.
Is anybody elses bump really really sore? I cant even touch, itch or put cream on one side of it and was in agony when the midwife was prodding me, she did say its because the baby is arching her back on every Braxton Hick thingy but it seems to be getting worse. Could this mean labour is near???:heart: I love my gorgeous little girl0 -
I was just wondering if anyones had this too, I went to my routine midwife appointment this morning and was told my blood pressure was 140/90 she left it a little while and took it again and it was still the same, I now have to go back in the morning to have it taken again if its the the same they are going to send me to the daycare unit, i was wondering if anyone else has had this and what they do at the daycare unit , will they just monitor my blood pressure? I have no idea why it would be so high i dont feel stressed or anything infact its the most relaxed ive felt in ages, think it didn't help that two days ago my eye sight went funny and i guess they need to rule anything serious out im hopeful when i get to the doctors tomorrow it will be back to normal.
Hi Mandy
This was the story of my life during the last leg of my pregnancy! They have to keep a check on your BP and they will be especially cautious as you have had probs with your vision - it can be a sign of pre eclampsia (protein in your wee is also a sign and if you have two out of the three then they need to follow it up). I was sent to the daycare unit twice. They monitor baby's heartbeat and ask you to press a button when you feel the baby move. They also attached me to an automatic BP machine which took my BP every 15 mins or so to get an average reading. They also took a wee and blood sample. Both times everything turned out to be OKso please don't worry about it. In fact, I loved sitting on the comfy chair and listening to baby's heartbeat for an hour! :rotfl:
I was, however, always on the higher end of the preferred BP scale so I had alot more MW appointments than usual and lots of homevisits so they could keep an eye on me. I quite liked it actually as I heart the heartbeat at least twice a week
Hope this helps. Let us know how it goes and try not to worry!

Hi everyone
Sounds like those nearing birth are having a difficult time - hope you are all feeling better soon.
Lots of newbies - you will find this site great. For me it has been a great source of information, support and somewhere to go to have a bit of a moan. It is a funny feeling to see names added to the bottom of the list and yours going up the list - I can remember when i added mine to the bottom and it seemed to be last for ages and ages.
I suffer with low blood pressure too and it can actually be quite scary to be out and feel so ill and no knowing if you are going to faint/be sick or what. So honeybe21 i can sympathise. Feelling very tender emotionally at the minute and feel like crying at the smallest things. Trying to buy all the baby bits i need but feel like i am spending a fortune.
When did everyone else pack their hospital bag? Started to get a pile of bits together but not sure when to pack. Also did everyone do separate labour/baby/hospital bags.
Thanks, take care everyone.now mum of 4!!!0 -

Still got mine to do (despite the nagging from my mother). It also occurred to me that I haven't bought any maternity pads yet - not really the sort of thing you want to be missing!!
Will have to make that a job for the weekend I think.
Oh, and previously I've just packed everything altogather and will be this time. Only planning on spending the minimum time possible in hospital anyway.0 -

Hello all.
I went to the midwife yesterday and am being sent for a scan as measuring small for dates. Measure 28 weeks and am 32. Not worried though as I measured 28 weeks at 28 and have definitely grown since then!! SHe thinks it was just the position the baby was in.
Moving house today and tomorrow. NOT fun trying to pack boxes with a bump in the way and low BP. Progress is not quick. Don't worry though. I'm not lifting anything.
Probably wont be back on for a while as internet access will be sporadic until we get the net sorted in the flat.Baby Boy due 4/3/08
We've completed on flat purchase
Moving in Saturday 12th Jan 08

Doobees i posted on a similar line recently measuring very similar dates to you. I am now 33 weeks and seeing the midwife next week when she will measure me again. Would have loved to have gone for another scan when she measured me small but it wasn't offered and when i have asked about another scan in the past i was told i wasn't allowed. I've also had low blood pressure over the past month or so.now mum of 4!!!0
