  • Been for the 4D scan. Baby was an absolute star - showed his face the whole time. What was interesting though was, after telling the midwife on Wednesday that I thought baby's head was still under my ribs and she said no, that's the bottom and the head is down but off centre, it turns out that yes, the head is still under my ribs! The sonographer ever so casually remarked "You do know baby is breech?" Err...no! She recommended I phone the midwife straight away to let her know but I think it can probaby wait until my next appointment just after New Year.

  • Hi guys could I ask you another question?? In your pregnant opinions would you be worried about this?

My last 3 urine samples have had protein and LUC in them in trace amounts. The first and last ones have been sent off (dunno why they didn't send the middle one off) and the first lot came back contaminated sample and the third I haven't had the results for yet as it was only wednesday.

Now this alone wouldnt worry me at all but I have been up the las few nights and have started to get a pain in my back. It is just under the ribs on the right hand side. It is very sharp and painful and comes and goes. It is also worse at night. I looked it up in the book and it says it can be a symptom of pre-eclampsia so now I am a bit worried.

HOWEVER I had my BP checked on wednesday when I had my appointment and it was fine at 120/60. I also have no swelling in hands nor feet. I do have restless feet but they are not swollen. I also have had no headaches.

What would you do?? I was thinking I would get my wee results on monday and see what they show but it depends how much worse this pain gets. Its a bit stabby like when I had gallstones (I no longer have a gallbladder had it out in december last year so it can't be that again). I haven't had the pain all day today but it seems to only come on when I am in bed for some reason.
  • Shelvis My sample was also Pro + on Thurs. I asked about it and the midwife said if discharge gets into ur urine it can contaminate the sample and give false reading, although saying that, that doesn't explain the pain in ur back. What about a possible urine infection? If ur in any doubt fone ur labour ward/maternity hospital, to get advice and they might even want 2 see you to get you checked over!! Even fone them just to put ur mind at rest. Hope ur sleeping better now.

I would probably just wait until Monday, especially if you find your not suffering during the day. I have to say that during the day I feel fine but at night I suffer terribly! Back ache, lots of pain under my left boob & my skin feels so incredibly tight it's horrendous! Really uncomfortable! But once i'm up & about & i've had a soak in the bath I feel almost human again.:rotfl:

If you are really concerned then call the emergency midwifes no & just have a chat with them. I'm sure there is a no on you're notes that is 24 hours.

Hopefully there is nothing to worry about!
Our 1st baby is due 29th December 2007! :rudolf:
I'm hopeful that this get's me out of cooking Christmas dinner!

Baby Ruby arrived after 55 hours of labour & an emergency c section on Christmas Day at 14.41 weighing 6lb 6oz...And yes I did get out of cooking Christmas dinner!!:rotfl:
  • Thanks guys. Sitting here I am happy to wait til monday as I am fine but as you know things are ALWAYS worse at night for some reason!! It's mad isn't it!!

Having said that if the pain keeps me awake all night I might give the ward a ring just for peace of mind. I do have a LOT of disharge at the mo (sorry TMI!) so chances are it will have contaminated the sample!

You don't need to tell me about that as i've had the exact same thing for months! Treated for thrush several times but it just won't go away! It does my head in

  • Sorry, I've got another question.

I've had a friend confide in me that she thinks she could be about 6-7wks pregnant, missed period, no ovulation yet this month but still a negative pg test.
She's always had a flat stomach (UK size 10), but lately she's been feeling very bloated (more so than usual, with some more painful wind) with crampy feelings at various times, right up to below her tummy button. She's also noticed yesterday (and it's still the same today) that her abdomen (whole pelvic area) isn't quite rigid, but it's feeling rather firm. No baby bump or anything as she knows it would be too early, but just firmer than it would usually be with a slight tummy (up just below her tummy button) which she is putting down to the bloating.

Obviously she'll re-test in a couple of days and see her Dr in early January, I was just wondering if any of you guys might have felt the same thing early in pregnancy or know what it could be.

That's exactly how I felt at about 5weeks pregnant, my whole abdomen went very hard and was quite uncomfortable and bloated. Must be a reaction to things starting to change in that region. A week later the sore boobs started so i thought I was getting my period., A week after that with my boobs still sore but no period the lightbulb went on. :D

Another test in a week or so is essential, she may have tested slightly too early (though tbh the kits are very sensitive these days).
