Can I ask you all about your weight gain in pregnancy? I'd really like to know how much people put on at the half way stage (I have put on half a stone at 22 weeks), and how much they had gained at about 38 weeks.
I am trying to be sensible and not stuff my face, but also get enough nutrition for the baby. But being big to start with (I was 12 and a half stone pre-pregnancy) I just want to get in good habits so its not too difficult to lose after the birth. Had just started gym and swimming every day and was very focused on getting fit when I found out I was preggers lol.

It might be worth getting ur breech baby checked or phonin for advice because and not waitin til after new year. As I think at 36 weeks they prefer to try and get baby in the correct position.
JoJo as for weight gain I was 9st 12lb at booking in app and at my 36 week check on tues I was 11st 8lb. We have a dog so I probably walk about 3-4 miles in a day which helps keep me fit!!Everyone is entitled to their opinionEllie 25/12/070 -

Hi everyone!
I've been having an eventful day up to now. Back pain as usual through the night got up at 7.30 & waddled off to the bathroom to discover I was bleeding. Shouted at hubby who was out of bed very quickly! Rang hospital who said it might be a show but to go in & get checked out anyway.
so,after breakfast & a bath off we went. I was hooked up to a monitor & baby was doing just fine,I told them I was having alot of lower back pain & she felt my tummy & said that I was having contractions! Anyway she examined me & said that i'm 1cm dilated! :T As they are happy with thing's they sent me home & told me to graze & rest & get back in touch as thing's progress. So i'm hoping that thing's carry on & the contractions don't stop!
In fact as I write this here come's another! Ahhh...It's only going to get worse.
I really hope it happen's tonight or tomorrow & not on Christmas Day! I'll keep you all posted. Our 1st baby is due 29th December 2007! :rudolf:
I'm hopeful that this get's me out of cooking Christmas dinner!
Baby Ruby arrived after 55 hours of labour & an emergency c section on Christmas Day at 14.41 weighing 6lb 6oz...And yes I did get out of cooking Christmas dinner!!:rotfl:0 -
Ooh, hoping things progress quickly for you. I think this WILL get you out of cooking Christmas dinner!0

OK guys I have a load of questions to ask-
As I've mentioned before at 21 weeks I was diagnosed with incompetant cervix and had a stitch put in. I had the stitch removed on Wednesday and I am 36 weeks today. Immediately after having the stitch out I was put on the trace monitor and had tightenings, with lower back ache and thighs aching. This stopped and I went home. Then on Friday the ache came back and I had 5 contractions over 4 hours. This then stopped. The following day I felt fine until the evening in which I started having period type pain and contractions every 20 minutes up until about 2 am. I had a bath and eventually nodded of waking up today feeling ok again. Today I've had 2 contractions over 3 hours and a blob of what can only be described as vaginal snot discharged.
So my questions are:
Is this lower back pain usually a sign of labour or should I be concerned about baby (who is still moving)?
Do contractions stop for days or am I not having contractions at all?
Is the discharge an infection?
Does anyone have any general advice as I'm climbing the walls and bloody tired!£4000 challenge

No expert but with my first baby contractions came and went for a few days before actual labour. The back pain is probably part of labour - I thought it felt like really bad period pain and the "snot" is probably part of the show or mucus plug coming away. It doesn't sound to me as if there's anything to worry about but it does sound like baby is thinking about coming sometime in the not too distant future.
Obviously phone your midwife though if you're really worried.
Good luck and maybe a Christmas baby is on the cards!0
