Congratulations HC!!
It's 5am and I have been awake most of the night with the most AWFUL TOOTHACHE. I've never had it before and am now dreading labour if it is worse than this!!
I think it is because of my gums receding during pregnancy. Will try and get an emergency dentist appt today.
Any suggestions for managing the pain. Paracetamol isn't touching it.Baby Boy due 4/3/08

Snap! I had horrendous toothache last night too! Paracetamol didn't touch it either, but I found that drinking a cup of black tea (not too strong) with a bit of sugar in it helped ease things. I would have loved to have added some soluble aspirin to it as it would have helped even more - but aspirin is not allowed!

CG we are introducing a bit of mixed feeding so OH can join in - tried expressing but isn't it honestly the most dire thing to be doing - like walking up the down escalator - anyway I'm aware that long term this can affect my supply and I may have the choice of breast/formula made for me - reading about this someone said that whilst feeding seems like a huge deal now, in five years time how your baby was fed will seem so irrelevant, look around the school playground and you'd never know which children were breastfed or formula fed, so no point in fretting about it - the important thing is that they're fed at all. happy baby = happy mummy.
i know, i know... but im sat here trying to find some useful information and all im getting is propaganda from the breast feeding nazis
I honestly wouldnt care how he is fed... IF i thought he was feeding properly
anyone parents here care to share any nappy horror stories about what happens when you change from breast to bottle?0 -
Hi everyone, haven't been on much recently but now back more regularly with any luck. Have had loads of emotional stuff going on, and stressful lead up to ending my job, and had a bit of a blood pressure scare but all ok now. DH has been fantastic, and yesterday bizarrely did the nicest thing ever in that he cheefully spent over half an hour cleaning encrusted cat poo off ds's new trainers as I wasn't allowed to touch it, even with gloves. Bizarrely romantic.
CG, sorry that poor Danny is having a bit of a poor time of it. Hopefully he will be sorted out soon. I mixed fed from 8 weeks and it allowed me to feed ds for 9 months. Apart from last week where he was ill for the first time since Feb, he is very healthy, and much as I like to think it's the breastfeeding, the fact the DH is the healthiest individual I've ever met in my life is probably more to do with it. Expressing is seriously useless (been there done that) so I really wouldn't worry. It's only really because I now have asthma that I'm so adamant about bfing no 2 when she makes an appearance, just in case.
HC - congratulations! Great birth story too, lovely and quick!
Congrats too to Sadie, and to everybody else who has joined for whatever reason or for babies that I have forgotten.Annabeth Charlotte arrived on 7th February 2008, 2.5 weeks early0 -

Well no sign of the baby popping out yet, and im off to work at 3pm.
Really feeling a little odd as this is my first, her 2nd.. and i dont want to drive for an hour to get to work, to get a phone call telling me to come back straight away..
Would seem a little pointless, tomorrow morning, or friday would be good as im working nights..
Still no sign of the baby coming out..

Hi Doobees I suffered loads with toothache whilst pregnant, clove oil is supposed to be good for toothache, which you can buy from health food shops. If you're up for a drink, then brandy swilled around the mouth is really good. But getting to the dentist is the best thing. I always found my dentist wud squeeze me in as i'd lay it on thick saying I was pregnant and can't take any pain relief.
Oh and severe toothache is far worse than labour, so if you can get through this, labour will be easy!!!!!
