  • shelvis- i just came on to ask the same question as you lol,

I know you can get alot of thrush in pregnancy my friend said she had it alot, and i thought maybe i had that but wasn't sure as i have never had it before, but she said that i would definatly know if i had it, does anyone else think that? i dont itch and it doesn't smell so im guessing its normal.

Sorry if i sound abit silly its all new to me so i dont know whats normal and what isn't
  • Ha! We must be all normal then!! I had thrush years ago and boy did I know I was so itchy!! SO I know it isn't that!!

Glad it isn't just me though. Makes me feel more relieved.
  • Mandy, your friend and shelvis are right about the thrush, you would definatly know if you had it as the itching is terrible
 I love my gorgeous little girl
  • I had a lot of discharge and took a treatment for thrush which didn't clear it up. I saw a consultant as part of my pregnancy care and she gave me pessary's to take, again the discharge didn't clear up. So i went to see my gp who took a look and was certain that it was nothing and just pregnancy discharge. At the time i had a lot and it seems to be less at the moment. Apparently it is very common to get a lot of discharge and sometimes you can have it all the way through your pregnancy. I have had thrush in the past which showed up on a smear and didn't have any itching though so worth checking out if you are worried.

Regarding birth plan - i find that unless you have very definite ideas, then it is sometimes best to go with the flow and see what happens. As someone mentioned earlier, things very rarely go to plan. This is the first time i have thought about the birth, thought about pregnancy and having the baby, maybe i am in denial as i don't want to think about going through labour again. My youngest was 9lb and all my babies have got bigger!!!

  • It must be said I spent so long concentrating on getting pregnant I haven't really thought about having and ACTUAL baby yet ha ha ha. I am just washing through all the clothes i have been given and they are so tiny. Oh my god am I really going to be in charge of something that small?? EEK
  • I'm the same...Lot's of discharge all the way through my pregnancy. I have to constantly wear a pantyliner! (Cost's me more now in sanitary products than it did before i was pregnant!):rotfl: I've had swab's sent off & they come back clear!? Yet when i had to go & have an internal after some bleeding a few weeks ago the DR confirmed straight away that it was thrush. Luckily i had been treating myself for this throughout my pregnancy as i know it's that even with the swab's coming back clear! (DR said it was probably not a good enough swab taken!) I too have to add that i never suffer with the itching so don't be so sure that it's not that.

Anyway,on a different note 5 wks & 3 days until my due date:eek: I've gone completly mad...decorated the dining room y'day (glossed & paint walls) I then decided at 8pm to get down on my hands & knees & scrub the carpet! All whilst my husband sat in the front room complaining about how tired he was! :rotfl: Yeah, join the ruddy club!! today i'm going to tackle the front room! Luckily no carpet in there! :T I'm sick of waiting for help so i'm getting on with it!
Our 1st baby is due 29th December 2007! :rudolf:
I'm hopeful that this get's me out of cooking Christmas dinner!

Baby Ruby arrived after 55 hours of labour & an emergency c section on Christmas Day at 14.41 weighing 6lb 6oz...And yes I did get out of cooking Christmas dinner!!:rotfl:
  • It's gone from an ear infection to a urine infection!! It's slightly annoying but I'm not lettin it get me down!! All I'm thinkin bout is 3 days left to work!!

I've had discharge right through as well and has recently got worse but still not smelly etc so not worrying about it.

    Hope everyone is well
Everyone is entitled to their opinion

i'm the same, get fed up waiting for OH to do things and fed up of moaning at him that i end up doing it myself. Men just don't know the meaning of feeling tired do they?

  • 37 weeks today! Scary biscuits.

I was woken up yesterday with sickness and diarrhea, have a really nasty bug. Worried silly because I have still not had anything to eat without throwing it back up but the doctor has told me not to worry and the baby should be fine as long as I am still drinking fluids. I don't wanna be unwell anymore!!

  • Morning ladies!

Congratulations, Sadie on the birth of Pheobe!!!

    Any news from Hopeless Cook?

Regarding birth plans, I didn't have one as I just wanted what was best for me and my baby which was just as well with the birth I had!

I hadn't planned on an induction but jumped at the chance when I was 10 days OD. I hoped not to have much pain relief but in the end I had diamorphine, gas & air and an epidural!!! Both me and baby were monitored constantly due to being 11 days OD. My DH hoped to cut the cord but Poppy was delivered by planned forceps so he never got the chance (which meant an episiotomy so I didn't have a choice of cut/tear either!).

I would suggest that an open mind would be the best plan and see what happens on the day :D

To anyone who is scared of the birth - try not to be! I can't believe how quickly I healed and that one day out of my life has given me the most beautiful, special gift I could ever wish for :o
