My MW told me there was a consultant at our local hospital with the lowest induction rate around. That's because he wanted people to wait until 14 days overdue, rather than the usual 10 days. The rate was so low because most will go into labour naturally within 14 days of the EDD. Hope this is of some help?!

Hello everyone. Congratulations to all the latest mums!

I have taken my name off TTC as I'm feeling very sorry for myself at the moment - don't think it's bringing me any luck having my name attached to the list! Have got an appointment at the hospital in January to find out what's going on but have kind of resigned myself to the fact that it's just not going to happen for us.

Sorry to be all gloom and doom. I shall keep dipping in and out of here to make sure you're all ok.

Oh Emjem. Hope all goes well at the hospital.

Have managed to get an appointment at dentist at 9 tomorrow morning. Not helped that we have just moved from central london and so haven't registered with a dentist yet.

GP has given me codine to take with paracetamol. Have taken two doses and still making no difference. Have ice pack welded to face at mo.

Will try and get some clove oil from the chemist in the village.

Doobees Hope ur toothache is easing off a little, it's not good at the best of times but even worse when you can't take strong painkillers for it :grouphug:.

erm, expecting my first child on 12th July next year. im a very nervours mother to be! i dont have a scan until the 17th December, and it cant come quick enough! we have decided only to tell our parents until we have had this scan, which is very difficult! cant wait to tell our friends and the rest of our family!
does anyone have any advice for me at the moment in terms of cats? we have a 3 year old cat and 2 9 week old kittens and to be honest i am reading so much conflicting information!
how do I add myself to the list?

Hi all,
Here's my birth story as promised. Although I think I've probably told you most of it already as it all happened so quick!

I went to bed about 11pm on Sunday night with a few little niggles which I
thought were Braxton Hicks as they were quite irregular, so I decided to see if I could sleep through them. I then awoke at 5.30am having contractions. I started to time them and they were coming every 15 minutes. The hospital had said to ring them when they were every 10 minutes so I went downstairs to use the contraction master website that izoomizoom had recommended. http://contractionmaster.com/ (which is FAB by the way, thanks so much izoomzoom). By the time I'd turned the PC on and started up contraction master they had gone to every 4 mins but I was having mini ones inbetween those as well, which only served to confuse me... I rang the hospital as it's a half hour drive away and they said to go in if I wished, OH was awake so I went upstairs and told him we needed to go. By this time the pains had changed and I realised I was wanting to push!! This must've been about 7.15am. I had to ring my mum to get her to come over as she was going to stay with my other two boys incase they got worried about anything (they are 15 and 11 and were still asleep at this point!)
It was at this point I started to think I might not make it to the hospital and tried desperately not to panic.. and I concentrated soooo hard on not pushing the exact opposite of what my body wanted to do which I have to say is a complete impossibility!! I don't remember much of the drive other than my OH was absolutely wonderful! I was scared to sit down on the seat as it was so uncomfortable and I was scared I was hurting the baby.

We eventually got to the hospital and I couldn't walk but luckily a kind man ran in to get me a wheelchair and the next thing I was being raced to maternity and it was all hustle and bustle... I was carried onto the bed as I couldn't get on myself and the midwives took my bottom half of clothes off and the next thing she said "oh she's fully dilated" (I could've told her that!!!!) and to push! 20 mins after our arrival at the hospital Eleanor Sophie was born. She (and myself) were in a bit of shock and they were a bit worried about her temperature as she was cold from the shock so they monitored her, plus the fact that no-one knew when my waters had broken or even if there were any so we stayed in overnight for observation but she was absolutely fine so we were allowed home the next day.

The only time I got a puff on the gas and air was when they examined me to see if I needed any stitches (which luckily I didn't) although it just made me feel sick and light headed at that point... gutted! Even OH had said he was hoping for a puff of it!!! :rotfl:

So much for the midwife telling me that 3rd babies are notorious for having long labours and being a bit "difficult"!!

Labour vibes to those in need (hope it's not quite as frantic as mine!) I'll have to check the list as I'm so out of touch with who is due and who isn't!
No doubt I'll keep popping back in to see how everyone is doing!
