Hopeless_Cook!

Hi guys,

just a quickie to say that Ellie (Eleanor) Sophie was born at 8.21am on Monday 19th November.... :jweighing 9lb 1oz! Had to stay in for 12 hours observation as they weren't sure when my waters broke or even if there were any and she passed meconium as she was born but all is fine and we are home now :j

will post birth story when have more time but will just say that even though she kept me waiting 10 days past the due date once she decided to come out she wasn't hanging around. I awoke with contractions at 5.30am, got to the hospital at 8am and she was born at 8.21am... yes she was nearly born in the car!! :eek: Didn't even have time for any gas and air!

Congrats Sadie as well and labour vibes to those in need.. it does happen eventually! :rotfl:

Mrs AliasOmega is meant to be Due today - 20th November with our little boy..

Well no sign of the baby popping out yet, and im off to work at 3pm.

Really feeling a little odd as this is my first, her 2nd.. and i dont want to drive for an hour to get to work, to get a phone call telling me to come back straight away..

Would seem a little pointless, tomorrow morning, or friday would be good as im working nights..

Should I really consider the options regarding being induced?
I think I've considered everything else when writing my birth plan (within reason, of course! I know I'm probably going to change my mind at the time!)

How much easier would it be if you could plan exactly when baby arrives?
Mind you, it's bad enough waiting in for a delivery/repair...and still they always ring the door bell when you've nipped to the loo...:rotfl:

Congratulations Hopeless cook! ive been keeping an eye on this thread looking for you! (i even freaked out my OH last night telling him that my due date buddy was still waiting where as we have had Daniel for long enough already that it feels like he has always been here!)

im a bit sad today as i have had to give up on the breast feeding and move to formula, when Danny was in the childrens ward last week he had to be fed by bottle as they needed to see exactly what fluids he was getting (as the UV photo therapy lamp is very dehydrating) and that seemed to confuse the hell out of him, so i took to expressing... i was happy to do it for the first while but its such a pain... endless sterilising and pumping just to keep a bottle or two ahead and if any of it got wasted then it was another spell on the pump..(plus of course that amount of wasted milk being produced again the next day and filling up my already ginormous norks! lol)

besides which, he really wasnt (isnt) feeding properly, huge long stretches between feeds then not taking very much when he does wake... and he has the most awful wind (parps for england!)
so fingers crossed the formula will sort him out! hes just had his first bottle and didnt seem too upset about the change over,
will see how it goes

CONGRATULATION HC!!!! glad all is well and hopefully all these babies are going to start coming when they are meant to lol!!!!

this decorating cleaning thing must be contageous! i have been cleaning out cupboards, under the stairs and decided to buy paint for my living room today along with a bag full of cleaning products pmsl!!!!!!!!!

CG we are introducing a bit of mixed feeding so OH can join in - tried expressing but isn't it honestly the most dire thing to be doing - like walking up the down escalator - anyway I'm aware that long term this can affect my supply and I may have the choice of breast/formula made for me - reading about this someone said that whilst feeding seems like a huge deal now, in five years time how your baby was fed will seem so irrelevant, look around the school playground and you'd never know which children were breastfed or formula fed, so no point in fretting about it - the important thing is that they're fed at all. happy baby = happy mummy.
