Just a quickie
Our beautiful Samantha arrived on Saturday night, at 2250 hours at home. She weighed 4.02kg, which I think is 9.6oz. We didn't manage to use the birthing pool, and there were sirens and paramedics, but all was fine and well in the end. I will fill you in more, when I have had a chance to recover.
I wish everyone safe deliveries, and wonderful babies.0 -
Great news izoomzoom - what a beautiful name and a great weight for your girlie! :j Congratulations! :T
Let's hope this will be a start of babies who are a few days early rather than a few days late0 -
Congrats izoom, hope you are all OK. Sounds like you had an exciting birth.now mum of 4!!!0

Will be going out tomorrow to buy something, even if it's gone, so that I'm prepared for next time -what do i get??
Warm milk and honey or just a glass of cold milk usually does the trick for me.
Congrats zoom!!** Mummy to little Jenna born on 23/12/07 **

THE DREADED HEARTBURN!! I have been eating rennies in the daytime as they stave it off but they don't do anything about the choking and burning at night. As the midwife she has recently given me some peptac a HUUUGGEE biottle of stuff you drink that is a bit vile (DONT get the aniseed one it's what evil tasts like) and thick but seems to help most evenings.
Other thing I do is eat a couple of dry digestive biscuits. Helps on occasion. Midwife told me not to drink milk or eat cheese to abate it because it makes it worse diary aggrivates it rather than soothing it which I didn't know.0 -

Milk does help if you are desperate - it may well make it worse, but in times of need ice cold milk does do the trick! If you get organic toothpaste that'll work too (not sure how healthy that is though but it does work !)
When you do go buying are some remedies you are not necc. supposed to take in pregnancy but you have to read the small print to find that out ...I took loads before reading that somewhere and then checking!!! Anyway Gaviscon is safe but vile!!! Tesco's also do a generic one which is ok too.
If you have a way to go buy a big bottle - I've run out twice on smaller ones.
btw ....still no baby here ...now heading for 14 days over ..am i making a record for the board? Have we had one go longer than that?
However ...I am getting either strong BH or false labour now so I'm hoping that it will be very soon!!!MSE PARENT CLUB MEMBER.ds1 nov 1997ds2 nov 2007:jFirst DDFirst DD born in june:beer:.0 -
and tsstss7, I seriously can't believe your body is showing no signs yet. Remind, me if this your first ?
No it is number two - but DS is nearly 10 so it has been a long time ...I'm still treated like a second time mum by the medical profession though even though I have forgotten the first time pretty much...
I do remember the tiredness last time though (after the cs) so I have made plans this time round to have my partner and close family round in the first month to make sure DS1 doesn't get neglected if I have another CS/complicated birth....hence why I'm keen on a natural birth as I've seen the difference it makes ... a good nights rest and most new mums that have given birth this way are pretty much recovered whereas I took months to feel even vaguely normal after the cs (even though I had no complications whatsoever).
Anyway I'm looking forward to hearing your birth story Izoom - Samantha is a lovely name.MSE PARENT CLUB MEMBER.ds1 nov 1997ds2 nov 2007:jFirst DDFirst DD born in june:beer:.0
