hi everyone,
hope anyone who is feeling down at the mo starts to feel better soon and all those due have their babs very very soon.
Decided that i am going to start looking forward from today. Some of you may know from some of my other posts that i tend to come on here for a moan when i am down (i know it's allowed so don't let that stop anyone else., but have really started to get my OH down and things so i am trying to look on the bright side now. Got full results of amnio and all OK and deffo a boy so i can't wait for the sales now to buy all those little blue clothes. Still not sure if it was the right decision finding out sex but its done and at least i can plan ahead, plus i know that i have spare space in my sons room for the new arrival.
Regarding sizes of bumps, i am over 5 months now and keep being told how small my bump is and how i am hardly showing. I know that when i had my 20 weeks scan the measurements weren't too small for dates and all my other babs have been quite large so i am not too worried.
Plus talking about things other people say i think that the next time someone asks for how i am, i am not going to be polite and say 'fine' but tell them about my varicose veins etc.now mum of 4!!!0 -
I am 40wk+1 and totally fed up of being pregnant, went to see MW yesterday for a membrane sweep and it couldn't be performed cause my cervix is tucked too far up at the back, i have been drinking the raspberry leaf tea for 3 weeks now and it hasn't worked i have heard of taking evening primrose oil, anybody tried this and does it work to soften your cervix. I have to go back next weds to try again with the membrane sweep, failing that i have to be induced and i won't get the homebirth we have been planning for so long. Any advice would be gratefully received.
Hi Shazy
I am in the same position as you - have had to give up the idea of home birth now as am term +11 and consultant could not do sweep on weds (exact same reason as for you) so have to go back in for 2nd attempt on sat!!!
Also am vbac so I'm terrified of having another interventionist birth (be it induction - cs) as it's so easy to get over a natural birth compared to the other options and my partner only gets two weeks paternity (and cannot afford to take unpaid leave even if I need him around for longer) so how I'm gonna manage if there are any problems is beyond me!
Cannot offer much advice I'm afraid as I have tried all methods except cods liver oil which can be slightly risky (I've read!) however if you are a low risk birth you can continue to insist on home birth of course (even if high too like me but now my bb is so big - poss 10lb's or more the mw is saying! I dont want to take too many chances).
On the plus side if I do go into labour soon I can still have an active birth!!! They have said that mobile monitoring will be offered so at least that's one problem sorted.
Hope it works out for you anyway - I'm gutted about the hb option it just sounds so much less stressful.MSE PARENT CLUB MEMBER.ds1 nov 1997ds2 nov 2007:jFirst DDFirst DD born in june:beer:.0 -
Oooh, I am really hormonal today. I have been bawling my eyes out. I just need to get this out of my system ... and I am sorry it is so long
DH works really hard, physcially and has a 1.5 hour commute too, so I understand he is tired when he gets home, but it seems of late that he is incapable of doing anything once he gets home. Typically last night he got home, and we all sat down to dinner not long thereafter. About 30 mins after dinner, DH goes up for a bath, and he vegged out in there for a while, and got out just before DS1 bedtime. I had said earlier in the day that I had stripped the bed off, and needed his help to put it back together again, and of course there was a pile of washing on the bed too (2 loads), that had already been ironed etc and just needed to be put away.
DH put his and my clothes away, but then just puts the boys clothes on the top of their drawers so I put them away properly. We then made the bed together and after a long discussion / crying with DS1 because he hadn't done his music practice, we came down stairs.
I sat around for a little bit, and then got uncomfortable, so I vaccummed the lounge and started to clear off the table and DH says leave the stuff, I'll wash it later (which he used to do). Bearing in mind, it was really on just the plates and serving dishes, as I had already washed all the cooking pots, so I took everything to the kitchen and left it there.
No long after DH is snoring his head off, so between surfing a bit, I washed up the dishes and tided the kitchen, and normally I would not do this, but because I want a homebirth, I have said over and over again, can we just have the house in a tidy state when we go to bed at night, because I don't want to deal with tidying up if I wake up in labour in the middle of the night, before the MWs get to us. For DH part, this has mostly fallen on deaf ears.
Anyway, this morning DH is up really early, as is his way (2 hours before he has to leave for work), and I stayed in bed as amazingly my ribs weren't aching, so all DH had to do was make the boys sandwiches, do some music practice with DS1 and make their breakfast. Well he tried to make their breakfast (we have started on oats, and I have shown him twice how to do it - really easy, one scoop of oats and two of water and then in the micro ...) but he cocked it up, and I got called out of bed and had to bin the lot. DH did make me a cup of tea ...., and I am busy making the oats, and then did some for him and me too, but he doesn't have time for it to finish cooking, so I asked him what he has been doing all morning, and he just says to me ''f... all''. Well that just started the tears, and I refused to even say goodbye to him, and now all I can do is cry and cry and cry ...
5 hours later, I am still crying, and he hadn't even phoned me to apologise !
*Big prego bump hugs*

My sister is bugging me saying about cod liver oil, reflexology etc to start me off but booked to go in tomorrow morning if all else fails !!

My OH came home from work a couple of weeks ago to me crying on the bathroom floor, i had just been sick and he said 'you hate being sick dont you' to which i sobbed out that i'd weeded myself. The retching was just too much pressure and the only thing i could do was grab a towel to sit and wee on while my head was in the loo! I love my gorgeous little girl0 -

Tis funny you can buy T shirts with a velcro panal on the front where you can stick on your own caption with little letters. I WISH they sold them in maternity sizes (perhaps I will go into business making them) because I soo want to just wear it every day with the words '9 weeks to go' on it.
Pefect strangers come up and say 'when is the baby due' which is fine but then they tell me some random crap about someone i dont know or care about who's monther cousins dog had their baby a week last tuesday -just cos i am pregnant does not mean I give a toss about random people's babies or care who else gave birth.
And while I am ranting on (oh i have started now) what about the people who only seem to want to tell you scare stories and absolutely RELISH telling them. 'oh i had my twins at 29 weeks - are you 31 weeks?? could be any time' F OFF. Do they not know I post on a forum where the main membership seems to be you have to go overdue (and I want to so far!). Also 'my friends dads cousins motherinlaw had her baby at 24 weeks she was in hospital - oh and did i tell you about my mates friend aho had one last month who was stillborn'. Do i want to know these things?? NOOOOOO I DO NOT SHUT THE F*** UP.
Sorry feel a bit better now for that rant!!!
In funny news my hubby is having all my symptoms. he now has to get up in the night for a wee - usually about an hour before I do! He also wakes with heartburn and he is eating all the time or he feels funny. He wants to watch it or he will be going through the labour with me and he wont find that so funny :rotfl:0
