Just come back from the MW and she says head is engaged, tried to do sweep but wasnt able to (c***ix not ready ...sorry TMI) so increasingly looking like being induced on Saturday at a week plus 10..
Blooming thing is far to comfy in there... think I might go for the curry tonight !!Mum to 2 lovely boys who keep me busy.0 -
Not sure if i should have joined this club. Nearly everyone seems to go overdue and having had two overdue pregnancies I don't want to go through that again! Good luck everyone who is 'waiting' - the only good news is that your baby will be born, they can't stay in there forever.
Never had heartburn during my pregnancies but you all seem to get that too, so really looking forward to suffering with that. Not!!!
Been to drs today with some pregnancy niggles and feel a bit better about things.
tsstss - with my other pregnancies i read all sorts of baby mags and books but daren't even open one this time as i don't want to read things that i would be better off not knowing.now mum of 4!!!0 -

I'm convinced that nipple stimulation triggered labour for me. We started it on the Thursday night and I went to bed with strong braxton hicks - this made us stop doing it and here was my mistake, we should have carried on - when we persevered the following Tuesday I went into labour about four hours after stopping... we were doing 15 minutes or so every hour, for about six hours. Lots of sex if you're up to it, could try clary sage in the bath or massaged into bump. Your cervix can ripen in a matter of a couple of hours so don't worry about it not being ready at your appt. Good luck! x0 -

Yeah, I realised that a little while back, but you think I can stay away ?
Well, it is November, and my baby WILL be born this month !!!
DH has finally given me persmission to have this baby. A couple of months back, for my birthday infact, he got me a ring. The ring has three different birthstones on it, one for DS1 (Feb), DS2 (Sept) and one for the baby (Nov). He is delighted that he doesn't need to take it back to get the stone changed, not that I would let him, as I love it and can't wait to wear it (and my other rings) again.
Apart from that I am okay. I have decided that I am going to, between today and tomorrow, wash EVERYTHING, for the baby, incase that is what is keeping he / she inside.
Chances of that working ?
Zero ! (but we will see ......)0 -
Hey just found out I am 6 weeks pregnant
)))) We've been ttc since August and after just finding out today well I'm over the moon!
I already have another son who is 8 and a half. I'm 35 so am dreading the effect the pregnancy will have on my body and mind!!! I've already noticed I've become more forgetful in the last week or so.
Will book a doc's appointment in next couple of days to arrange scan.
Hello to you all, look forward to getting to know you all)))

Thanks Fac73 for the tips...will suggest the nipple stimulation and maybe some god old fashioned s*x as well when hubby comes home from work!!
have got a couple of stomach cramps since MW tried sweep so maybe even the attempt at a sweep will start things off.
3KIDSNOMONEY - I haven't had heartburn much at all so you never know you might get away with itMum to 2 lovely boys who keep me busy.0 -
right i feel a rant coming on so ere goes.........................
suffering alot from SPD so finding everything painful (spesh with a 2.8 year old toddler who still ain't friendly with the potty) and only being able to afford 1 morning of playschool for my DS. mum has had a lump removed from her breast and wos then told it wos cancer so is now having to have the full breast removed. her bf said her would stay with her for the 2 weeks recovery time she needs after, so to help him she asked me to look after 1 of her dogs ( i already have 1 of my own) and put her other dog in kennels for 3 weeks. he said that he would b able to stay over xmas due to him being a grandad again (which we understood) but now says he can't look after her @ all in dec ( she goes in on the 29th nov) so now i'm gonna look after her for the 2 weeks. this is going to be fun as i'll be 34 weeks by then. my bf is trying hard to sort things out so he can be with us all over xmas and for when the baby gets ere.
only good news i got is that i asked my HV for help with all this and they have managed to get my DS into nursery for 3 afternoons a week which is gonna be great for him and me lol
other than all this i'm managing to keep a silly smile on me boat-race cos life is to short and i know things will get better ( if only a ickle bit lol) when baby gets ere.
rant over how's u lot? lol1st son born 11/02/05 2nd son born 09/01/08
thats all i'm adding to the human race so think yourselfs lucky lol0 -
MadDogWoman wrote: »Hi,
I thought that since I've been been posting advice about dealing with c-section I would put it all in one post.
This is based on my experience of an emergency c-section in April.
In Hospital:
Skin to skin contact - Ask if not offered I didn't and regret it
Patient handles - makes getting in and out of bed easier
Pain Killers - accept all offers
Visitors - try to limit use the time in hospital to rest as much as possible
At Home:
Never refuse offers of help - my mum almost moved in!
Get DH/OH to cook if possible
Take Arnica
Expose the scar to the air as much as possible
Get DH to get up in the night to assist with feeds (picking baby up etc)
Get DH to do the middle of the night nappy changes
You will be numb after the op from your navel down to the pubic bone and will remain so, my feeling is only just beginning to return after 6.5 months.
In hospital post op they gave me 3 litres of saline, so I swelled up like a balloon after about 2 days.

Can I just add something? I've not had a C Section but did have a spinal block. Make sure they fit a catheter if you have one. My surgeon didn't and I had been sitting in my own pee for about half an hour before I realised. Not nice at all. The MW was furious with the surgeon for not doing it as it was putting me at risk from infections etc.£4000 challenge

lol maybe you are getting your "energy burst" and are soon to go into labour CG! Mind you saying that if it were true for everyone I'd have gone into labour two weeks ago. Mine was 2am washing up!
My acid reflux has actually woken me up choking in recent nights - I didn't know that was even possible!!
en-er-gy? umm...nope, sorry never heard of it.... (although i did top to bottom the bathroom after DD went to school) i realised i had to stop when my sister phoned and instead of just sitting down for a chat i found myself baby wipe in hand scrubbing the stair bannister and wall while we talked!
the choking is what woke me up, i get it quite regularly... its like the acid lines the back of your throat, closes it off and sees how long it takes for you to sit up quicker than you have moved in months struggling to breathe....
i came downstairs and was sick, which really burnt so i knew i wouldnt be getting back to sleep anytime soon so like a fool looked around for things to do
oh.. and my DD has her school assembly on wednesday, but we have a very long appointment at the antenatal assesment unit, im not sure of the time yet... really hoping they dont clash
MadDogWoman and purplepatch - thanks for that, but what is arnica? i know its something some c section mums swear by... but i dont actually know what it is!
cheers Bun, but i found a clippasafe one on ebay, perfect size and it even has the correct coloured trim!
izoomzoom - i dont 'do' jewellery, but thats a really thoughtful gift from your husband (did you tell him to do it?? lol)
i was washing the very last baby load yesterday, ive done all the clothes... but i had forgot about doing his towels, so we slung on a white wash... half way through the cycle the washer starts making horrible crunchy noises and spat the dirtyest crap from the bowels of the machine right through the wash to the front  OH took the back off...looked at it...jabbed it thoughtfully with a screwdriver, then my dad came round and looked at it, pulled at bits that looked complicated, said things that sounded like he knew what he was doing.... then wanted to know why he didnt have a cup of tea handy (probably cos he had been round for all of half hour and had already had TWO!!) meanwhile i stood in the doorway and swore at it...
and surprizingly none of these things helped as when we tried it again it tripped out our electric then p!ssed soapy water all over the floor
so now we need a new machine  ohh.... GOODY
congratulations Amanda4242, SO glad im at this end and not back at the 6 week mark again!my DD is 7 1/2, so like me you can expect to have forgotten everything you learned last time and that the stuff you remember is now against all the rules!
sorry you have so much going on Slapps, but try not to worry til you really have too (cos it doesnt help anyway)
im sure everything will work out for you xXx
right then.... cup of tea and umm..... yeah, some biscuits would be good right about now0 -
