Hi CG
Me again, just catching up after the break.
When you've had your section and aren't in an electric bed ask for patient handles so that you can use your arms instead of your tummy muscles for getting in and out of bed.
I didn't have them for my first 2 days after and I was really struggling - I flopped around like a landed cod - to get out of bed to deal with my DD at night.
HTH
MDWProud to be dealing with my debts

Hi everyone,
My little girl arrived 5 days early on saturday 27th at 6.34pm.
She is called Lucy Rose and weighed 6lb 15oz she is cute as a button with wispy blonde hair.
The birth details.....
I had mild iregular contractions when I woke up on sat morning and thought it was just braxton hicks, by lunchtime they were getting stronger but I was'nt feeling baby move so we went in to hosp for a check to see all was well.
I was monitored fro an hour and baby was not too happy with the contractions but they still thought it was BH contractions. I Sent my hubby and little boy home as they were waiting and then she examined me and I was 4cm dialated, quickly got hubby back!
contractions got stronger and waters broke at 4pm, started pushing at 6.10pm, lucy arrived at 6.34pm.
I tried gas & air but did'nt like it so just managed with deep breathing and back massage.
after a natural labour my placenta refused to shift and nearly had to go to theatre for it to be removed but after 40 mins it came out.
had some stitches and that was it!
much better than the birth of my son which ended with a high forceps emergency delivery, to be honest these past few weeks had got me really anxious and depressed as I was dreading the same kind of birth so I am really really relieved.
she is breastfeeding for england and my milk came in today and I have got to get some new nursing bras as the ones I had are too small and my boobs have gone from an a cup to an E!
I am also having to give myself a clexaine injection each day and wear compression stockings day and night for 2 weeks as I am high risk for a dvt.
I am exhausted but so very very happy.

Hi All,
Have just ben lurking on theis board really, but wanted to ask a question if that's ok?
Last night while I was in the bath, bump was happily kicking and wriggling around, but when I went to sit up, my tummy looked really weird. All the sides squeezed right in, and I could pretty much see baby's outline right in the middle of my tummy.
Then, when I went to bed, it did the same thing. I laid down and whilst I was laying down, my tummy came right in at the sides again, and OH said he could see the shape of baby's body and head, also my belly button went really triangular, like baby's head was pushing on it.
I think this might be because I was using my tummy muscles to sit up/lie down, but it just looked really odd and freaked me out a bit. Has anyone else had anything like this??
Yorkshirechick x

Sunflowergirl - congratulations! Glad the delivery went well for both of you and wasnt' as stressful as last time. My last delivery was similar to your first so it's nice to know things go better next time!
Yorkshirechick - I used to have this and it was very odd indeed!
Hi CG - sorry, didn't mean for you to have to drag Danny out before the 8th, but at least you have an idea rather than it going on and on and on and on.....Annabeth Charlotte arrived on 7th February 2008, 2.5 weeks early0 -

Yes, this happens to me when i'm doing the same things as you... tummy goes almost a triangular shape. I don't like it either so try and not use tummy muscles when sitting up/lying down now. I'm sure it doesn't harm baby but I just don't like it when it happens!!
Congratulations Sunflowergirl, glad everything went well. (I'm sooo jealous!) Unless baby comes today then it's a definite November baby for me!:j Ellie (Eleanor) Sophie arrived 10 days late on 19th November at 8.21am. 9lbs 1 oz :j0 -
Congratulations Sunflowergirl. Lovely name too.
And Yorkshirechick, I get the same thing. I try not to lie down too much, as I find it extremely difficult to get back up again, and lying on my side(s) eventually makes my ribs ache, so think I will have to learn how to rest, standing on my head.0 -
thanks for that MadDogWoman, any tips to make my life a bit easier are always welcome!
Slapps - i would... but the torch is on the floor, and the floor is just too damn far away
congrats sunflowergirl, hope your enjoying baby Lucy :T
Yorkshirechick - another triangular stomach here... your at the stage now where you probably shouldnt just be using your stromach muscles to get up, roll onto your side and use your arms and you will find it a lot easier,
why risk pulling a muscle or hurting something when you dont have too??
besides which, one day soon out of the blue you wont be able to sit up without doing this or holding onto something anyway because your muscles turn to jelly over night without any warning! :rotfl:
hopefully going to see a midwife today, and i will get her to have a grope of my belly.. see what she thinks,
but after the shapes this kid was throwing last night, im pretty sure he is transverse0
