Fac - that's brilliant. Now there's an acupressure point on the centre of the big toe pads. If someone can press this firmly with a pulsing pressure for about 3 mins and then do it every 15 mins or so it'll help bring on the contractions. Good luck........

    My twins came!!!!!!!!

Connor Michael and Ryan Daniel were born on wed 17th oct at 09.57 and 09.59 at 37weeks exactly (c.section) weighing 6lb4oz and 5lb 6oz.

Let out of hospital on saturday (in time for rugby!) and now still trying to get my head around the fact that these 2 beautiful boys are mine and how much they make me tired already!! (not to mention how many poos they do, ha ha)

Big brothers kieran and adam seem to be taking well to them so far too.
Good luck to all those still awaiting their arrivals.
oh-and if anyone can be technical and update the list for me, i would appreciate it. (was down as due 7/11/07)
    thanks, Clare

Ophie, your daughter is beautiful! Hope you're enjoying getting to know her.

Good luck Fac! Hope those contractions speed up and it doesn't take too long (as the veteran of two very long labours you have every sympathy!)

Congratulations Claire - hope you manage to get somed sleep inbetween feeds!

Have been reading Orphie's posts about her new DS and has brought tears to my eyes (ok so am overdue term now so hormones racing!) I'm very glad that there are people out there willing to give a home to children that need one - they do look a good match too! Hope your visits are going well ORPHIE!

Am term +1 today - spd getting worse and bored stiff as have spent the day doing as little as is practically possible (hence I've offered my opinion om MANY other threads today lololol).

However seeing mw tomorrow so perhaps she'll offer me a sweep!

good luck FAC - pretty sure you'll be there b4 me as nothing is going on here despite pineapple, curry consumption and the other! Hope I dont have to pursuade him to try again - wasn't exactly the most exciting and or comfortable **** i've ever had! Sorry if tmi!

Sadie204, sorry to hear of your time wasting exercise. Sometimes we really do know better (about not growing so much in three days), but you worry about going against the 'professional'.

Fac73, brilliant news, and I know some say you can have a show weeks beforehand, but I think you are there. I was EDD-5 and had my show with DS1 and he was with us within 24 hours.

clarew, congratulations on the birth of Connor and Ryan. Glad you found a moment between the pooy nappies to update us.

tsstss7, we promise to send you lots of vibes, as soon as we have sorted out Fac, okay ?

And Mandy2383, congrats on your little boy.

As a worst case scenario, I now have less than 1 month of being pg. 22 Nov is my EDD+14, so I know I will be interferred with before then, if my baby hasn't made the attempt. Can't say I am in any particular hurry, but I do have my moments, and I haven't been desparate enough to try any curries / pineapple, and other stuff. Plenty of time for that still.

izoomzoom, 22 Nov is my birthday :D

Congrats to all those who have new babies.
Midwife was supposed to come and see us on Sunday but never turned up, so is coming out tomorrow morning to discuss my homebirth, yippeeee.

doesnt seem so bad now does it...
when the thought of being as over due as it gets still only means a month,
not long ago worrying about being overdue felt like adding another 3 months on the end! lol
i thinks its 'so close but yet so far syndrome'

i thought i was off again tonight, had 5 or 6 contractions about 10 minutes apart, started to panic as DD hadnt been fed yet as we had just got back from swimming lessons, but it all went away and left me with backache again!

Sadie204 - i got measured 5 weeks ahead at one point then bang on for my dates the week after, doing it with a tape measure is the crappiest way possible! and its a really in-exact science... they tell us every pregnancy is different, every baby is different but then expect us all to measure exactly the same!! what a load of poop!
izoomzoom is right about not always trusting the professionals, i saw a doc about my wrist pain (i think my thumb keeps actually dislocating itself now because my joint is so loose) i asked if it was because of the pregnancy hormone relaxin (which is only supposed to make your pelvis open up but doesnt know that so effects loads of other places too) and he basically told me no and that what i was saying was rubbish... why would it only effect my wrist and not every other joint etc,
my midwife said i was in agony for exactly that reason, she said loads of people get it and she would be having words with the doctor! :D

Doobees - i got the hip pain too... but thats only at night from laying on them
will i ever be comfortable again!!!

go fac... go fac... go fac... go fac... would cross my fingers for you but they are too damn fat! :rotfl:

clarew - yay for the boys! :T thanks for the update... what the hell are we going to do without septemberbaby always here to update the list!

right, im going to flump on the sofa now and i dont intend to move again for the rest of the evening! :D

    Hi,

When I was pregnant with DD I got the aching hips from lying on them.

The advice I was given was put a sleeping bag under your sheet, it acts a bit like a memory foam topper without the cost.

I woke up after the first night and could walk without saying ouch.

Thanks for the advice. I'm sending my husband right now to find the sleeping bag so it can go under the sheet tonight!
