Thanks everyone
Still waiting! Induction is booked for Saturday at T+15 - but I am going to try and resist and ask for monitoring instead - I might change my mind of course but I'm trying to focus on the home birth. However a healthy mum and baby is more important than that so we'll see. I could ask for another sweep before then but they don't seem to be doing much good.
miss_be - the emotional rollercoaster doesn't end as far as I can seesending some hugs your way, it's horrible when your moods are all over the place. I've had such lows in this pregnancy I thought I'd never get over them, but you do, and you will. Be patient with yourself and make LOTS of allowances - our bodies are going through something so massive, it's the biggest change over the shortest period of time - and of course our lives are changing too. Take comfort in your OH and when it happens the next day, let him make it all better again, and again, that's what they're there for
Also I believe ice cream and chocolate have healing properties :shhh:0 -
miss b - i have had a couple of low moments. like when all my mates were off clubbing or to a spa for the weekend and I was stuck at home. Realistically i wouldnt have swapped places with them for the world but in those low moments i wanted it all and was annoyed that wanting a baby meant life on hold for 9 months while everyone else just carries on. I feel AWFUL now for feeling like that but at the time its the end of the world. It's perfectly normal though and part of the hormonal bit of pregnancy.
What helped me was doing something fun yet PG friendly with friends. we now go out for a meal once a month to catch up and natter instead of going owt drinking. Of course when a friend suggested this i wanted to cry with happiness - ha ha you can't win!! If you feel down again can you think of anything that would help next time you were in the situation?
Besides you have all of us to moan at if there is a next time. Most will have (or are about to) go through it so rant and cry away.0 -
Hi all
I'm due today and fed up!... I'm also suffering from spd (but wierdly didn't get it until 37 weeks!) so can no longer walk far....so have spent the day on the computer and reading which sounds like fun but gets tired quickly!
Anyway good luck fac - I'm hoping for a home birth too but as a higher risk case (vbac) I only get to go 10 days over....I really don't want to go to the hospital as I want an active birth and they seem to want to keep me monitored if I am there and I am sure it will be better for me to keep active...am too lazy as it is!
well off for a nice warm bath ....helps a bit with the spd pain although it always comes back and does seem to be getting worse.....I hope this baby comes soon.MSE PARENT CLUB MEMBER.ds1 nov 1997ds2 nov 2007:jFirst DDFirst DD born in june:beer:.0 -
Hooray, I can finally post again... decided to change details now that I am on ML but then havent been able to post for last three weeks.
Apologies to everyone whose little ones have made an appearance.. Congratulations to you all
Good luck Ophie....
Just checked the EDD list from a few pages back and I'm about 6th now as EDD moved from 26th to 24th but think little one is far too comfy and warm inside to make an appearance this week. List needs updating really as Renstar still waiting according to list.Mum to 2 lovely boys who keep me busy.0 -
Thanks Fac and Shelvis for your advice. It's better to know that it's going to be a rollercoaster than not. I'd always thought that when I got pregnant I'd breeze through the pregnancy with no problems and be blooming all over the place. That's probably part of the problem as it doesn't always happen like that. I've arranged to meet up with some friends this week and I'm currently working my way through a lovely box of tea cakes. So very yummy and worthlessness alleviating! Thanks guys, Be xxxBaby Ember
