Congrats to all who have been added to the list or who have been promoted to the parents club!!!

Well ladies and gentlemen this is it. This is my last day of being me and me alone  .

Tomorrow I meet my daughters grandmother and birth father and then go and meet her. So in 10 days time I will be coming back home a fully fledged Mummy.

I intend to be able to connect to the net at night so that I can keep up to date with all the goings on with you lot. If I don't manage to get a connection good luck to you all whilst I'm away and I hope all births go exceptionally well, fingers crossed for you all.

    Take Care x
I saw two shooting stars last night
I wished on them but they were only satellites
Is it wrong to wish on space hardware
    I wish, I wish, I wish you'd care
  • I thought you actually had her from tomorrow?

well anyway, we really wish you all the luck in the world Ophie, what you are doing is an amazing thing,
cant wait til you find a minute to tell us how your first few weeks of becoming an instant mummy have been, if you dont already... maybe you should keep a diary, so you can look back on this (and maybe even give it to her when shes older) and remember how it all felt,

oh... and if you give the kid some more chocolate cake, just remember to stand back yeah? ;):D

right... which one of you is going to pace the floor for me if Ophie is missing??!!

I go and meet her for the first time tomorrow then spend 10 days getting to know her as I'm not sure she could cope with me just yanking her out of her familiar surroundings, and neither could I. I spend 10 days with her after the first 2 days I am on my own with her more or less (see I get my hand held) and then the rest of the time I get to know her routine that I will change when I get back home (slowly slowly catchy monkey). The rest of the time I will nod, smile, grit my teeth and have thoughts such as ok well that will be changing :D

CG stop giving my job away to people!!! I said I'll try and get on here whilst I'm away so I shall be pacing the floor for you all... but with my mind on other things :D

It's really hard getting a pre-made baby. I keep looking at things to buy and then reminding myself that she's going to come along with stuff that I haven't bought, and to wait until I have her at home. Then I can go through the stuff she has, decide what I want to keep (clothes/toys etc) and then give the rest to charity or if in good condition sell 'em on ebay and buy her stuff from me. Although I do have a wardrobe full already :o

ohhh of course you are! sorry Ophie... if i actually had any sense at the moment i would have already realised thats how it works!
im such a dullard at the moment! damn baby ate my brain.

i bet it will be very cool for her getting loads of new stuff, but i wouldnt get rid of too much of her old stuff all at once (especially the toys) it will probably be confusing for her at first and some doll or other that looks nasty and unhygenic might be her little favourite!
my EX mil is forever giving my daughter the WORST toys, bears and crap, god knows where she finds it all....its not even good enough to have come from a charity shop!
ive always found phasing things out slowly is the way to go! :D

Oh Ophie you must be so excited but anxious at the same time. Hope all goes well tomoro, will be thinking about you.

Snugglepuss I presume there is some kind of history of blood clots in the family. There is a massive history in my family and my sis took a blood clot during 1st pg. 2nd she was fine although had to inject daily. I had to be checked before trying for a baby and was told I was at risk but they didn't want me to go onto heparin so gave me stocking from 8weeks. They are so uncomfortable but if it reduces my risk of a blood clot I'm willing to wear them. I'm sure they wouldn't be advising you to inject daily if it wasn't necessary. I don't know how much help that is but I hope you get something sorted out.

Congrats to all new mummies and mummies to be. Oh and should have said daddies too!!!

I go to work for 2 days and so much happens on this board it is unbelievable!!

Yeah there are a few things that she likes to sleep with I just hope they don't stink!!! Otherwise I'll be sick! I'm just going to be grateful for the 10 days with her so I can see which things she really likes that way I can't make any mistakes.

Thank you for all the wishes everyone I'll keep you all updated xxx
