I bought an actual memory foam topper from ebay for £85 on a king size with 2 free pillows and oh my god its the best nights sleep ever. I had to sleep in the spare room the other day cos of painting the ensuite with gloss smell and i totally appreciate how nice my bed is now. The spare room bed and matresss is newer but the topper is just soooo comfy.
They sell thinner toppers in Dunhelm mill now cheaper and I would buy one in a heartbeat and tell all pregnant women to do the same. Its ace.0 -
fac hurry up and have the baby - I can't keep pacing I have a child of my own to care for
Hope all goes well, I am guessing that baby was giving you plenty of time to get used to the idea!!!I saw two shooting stars last nightI wished on them but they were only satellitesIs it wrong to wish on space hardwareI wish, I wish, I wish you'd care0 -
WHY CAN'T I SLEEP. Baby was awake ALL night in my belly and I couldn't sleep at all. Just didn't feel tired really which is very odd. Sorry about coming on here to moan but I don't want to moan to my non cyber friends because they are all 'stop moaning you should be greatful you are finally pregnant' and truly I am but sometimes you need a good old moan and !!!!!. Not even heartburn keeping me awake just was awake. Grrrrrr.0

Hi Shelvis
I know how you feel - the other night I was awake till 3 for no particualr reason.....I think it's partly down to nerves/worry etc as although I have one adorable DS he is now nearly 10 and a baby is a whole different ball game (plus I am older now so will I cope better/worse???)
I suppose it helps to acclimatise us to the broken sleeping patterns to come. I have found myself still able to do a full days work after 4 hrs sleep lately when in days gone by anything less than 7 demanded constant coffee to keep me going!MSE PARENT CLUB MEMBER.ds1 nov 1997ds2 nov 2007:jFirst DDFirst DD born in june:beer:.0 -
Thanks for all your comments. Feel a little bit better today. Had a good talk to OH and my mum, they agree should just be prepared for anything to happen in next few weeks.
Am going to just try to relax, if there was anything really wrong they would see me sooner right? Just going to be prepared in case I do go into labour early for my EDD. (Then again, if this threads history is anything to go by, have got AGES!;) ) I know it does sound a little big-headed but I know my own body and know I am right about my dates.
My mum says that at my scan at 37+6, if baby measures too big they may keep me in hosp! Can they/will they do this? Going to ask mw when I see her if should take bag with me just in case.
Congrats to all new mummies and labour vibes for Fac and Tsstss. x0 -

When I was pregnant with DD I got the aching hips from lying on them.
The advice I was given was put a sleeping bag under your sheet, it acts a bit like a memory foam topper without the cost.
I woke up after the first night and could walk without saying ouch.

now where the hell have you been hiding all my pregnancy? eh??!!
thanks for that... will find something to shove under my sheet tonight (if im still going... hes been teasing me with contractions again this morning, we are going for a long walk around the park soon that will either start me off properly or kill me)0 -
Hi, anyone suffered from a burning bump.
Up until last week, I used to get this burning sensation right at the top of my bump / bra line, and I would end up having to take my bra off because it was so sore. It feels like I have been scortched with something, but of course there are no red marks or anything.
Then in the last week, this burn feeling has moved to the top right hand side of my bump, and is about the size of my palm, and I often have to lift my shirt away from the spot, to ease it, but of course it doesn't go away straight away.
I don't get it all the time, but most certainly many times a day, and although I did mention it to the MW on Monday, because it is not at the bottom of my bump, she couldn't really advise - told me to get hold of GP if I was worried., but it just doesn't seem that bad ( until the next time I get it) ...0 -

Hi Izoom - could this be where skin is rubbing and the movement down to the baby shifting? ~I have had terrible itchyness from time to time around these areas and have taken to bathing daily to keep down the risk of fungal infections due to the skin below my bra area being often hot and sweaty (!) and it seems to have helped.MSE PARENT CLUB MEMBER.ds1 nov 1997ds2 nov 2007:jFirst DDFirst DD born in june:beer:.0 -
No the area that is currently burning is on my actual bump, and the only thing that can touch it is my shirt, and there isn't any rubbing, ifykwim. And it really burns like fire.
Thanks for replying though.:A
I am off for a nap. I went to town for 1.5 hours and am exhausted, eventhough half of it was sitting down eating lunch.0 -
