  • well well well... what an eventful day!
we took DD out for the day to a castle park near us (about half hour 45 mins away by car) its in the town where my mum lives and she happens to live in the same road as the hospital im booked into...
anyway, pottered around the park for ages, feeding ducks and geese and OH actually fed a squirrel by hand (was all getting a bit 'snow white' at one point!)
was having loads of fun except for the fact i was contracting about every 10 mins...
so when we were finished we thought it best to have a cup of tea and a rest at mums before travelling all the way home, just incase...
while "resting" at mums they managed to stop all together then come back with a vengance 3 - 5 mins apart and hurting like hell, so we decided to go annoy the midwives at the hospital and see what they said...
I got hooked up to the monitor where we could all see i was regularly contracting, so she examined me and......
    and.......
nothing! f**k all, zip, zilch, nada... not even 1cm
anyway she had a grope of my stomach and wasnt happy with what she felt so got a scan machine in, then confused the crap out of us by umming and ahhing and not being able to find the head! she kept pointing out the spine and it took all my strength not to point out that if you keep following that line one way or the other your going to find the head or the bum!
so she called in a doctor who found the head within seconds.... AT THE TOP OF MY BUMP!
the difficult little thing has gone breech!
he said we had two options, the thing where they try and manually turn him, which ive seen on TV and frankly it looks painful and barbaric (and the sucess rate is less than 50%) or an elective c section.... so we have to phone up tomorrow and find out the date of our sons birth! *weird*
of course it may not happen, if he turns around again then its labour as normal, but as he is measuring full term, i doubt he has a lot of room for spinning around in there now!
they wont do it before 39 weeks though and they are working off thier (completely wrong) dates and not mine... so the first possible day it could happen is bonfire night! the date that OH picked out as soon as we found out i was pregnant! :D

sorry for the essay... but i needed to spill! :j

Ooh CG, how exciting! :j And if their dates are wrong, you might go into labour before then, but won't have to go through all the pain if they'll do a section! Even more exciting! :j

CG - what a strange turn of events. Would you prefer a natural birth or C section? If you prefer the natural birth then imagining your little one turning into the correct position will help. There isn't much space - you're right, but there is still some space to maneuver. Good luck to you, what ever you want to happen. x

Hi CG - I was breech at 37 weeks but bb turned one day - I knew it was happening as it hurt like !!!! so there is still hope.

Am term +2 today - saw MW and found out she is going on holiday next week!!! So now want bb to come asap so I at least stand some chance of getting her for the birth - I find most MW's a tad scary (dont know why - they are just too pushy for me ...last time in hosp. was getting MW's being pushy about breast feeding as I'm not a whip um out girlie - and it put me right off ...want a relaxed time this time!)

knowing my luck you'll beat me to it cg!

btw no sign of FAC guess this must mean she is having bb now!!

  • ooh, CG, that's a fairly exciting day! (Though admittedly slightly disappointing if you were contracting every 3-5 mins and maybe thinking this is it!).

Would be good if he was born on 5th november - think of the birthday parties you could have!

Morning everyone, Wow, CG make sure you let us know what the hospital say today when you phone them and what date they give you. How exciting.

I keep having weird dreams (due 16th Nov). Dreamt last night they'd got my dates wrong and that I had to wait another month - arghhhhh:eek:
The other night I dreamt that little one was born and could walk straight away :rotfl: wierd !

Ooooh, CG, what an exciting day. For your sake, I hope baby does turn, but if he doesn't then at least you have a definite date for his arrival. Please let us know what the hossie says.

Rince - you can walk straight after you give birth. I was made to after DS2 was born. Okay, it wasn't immediately, but it was within 30 mins, - I had to walk from the labour ward to the shower across the hall. The most shaky walk of my life. And then I had the pleasure of washing myself with a bucket of water because the shower had packed up (in a private hospital in a 3rd world country). I had lost all my dignity so really didn't care.

Okay and here are !!!!!!!!!!!!!!{labour vibes}}}}}}}}} for Fac, tsstss and cazscoob.

I would like the children to get back to school first, so reserve some for me for Tuesday onwards ..... ha, fat chance !

Thats made me laugh out loud in the office, people are starring at me :rotfl:
I meant I dreamt the baby could walk straight away !:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
I've re-read my post and can see why you thought that. Thanks for making me smile.

Its my last day at work today, finish at lunch time, can't wait, although i'm not sure what i'm going to do with my time off ! My first son was 2 weeks early, so maybe this one will be too:D
  • WOW CG, quite a day you had yesterday. Let us know what the hospital say and good luck with Danny turning back round!

I'm still waddling along here with no sign of bump making an early appearance but I'm finding I need less sleep, or maybe it's just I've got a lot on my mind so I'm getting less sleep

Sending lots of labour vibes to those that need/want them... still no sign of Fac then?

izoomzoom - I can't help with the burning bump issue but hope you get an explanation or get it sorted.. sounds very uncomfortable :(
    :j Ellie (Eleanor) Sophie arrived 10 days late on 19th November at 8.21am. 9lbs 1 oz :j
  • Dormouse - well their dates are only 4 days behind mine, but 4 days is an eternity when you think *I* say im 39 weeks from next friday and they arent having any of it! :D

miss_be - i dont know, even though ive done it before ive been a bit worried about the natural birth (normal i know) but now knowing that he is full term size NOW... so probably 7 - 8 lb, i cant imagine how big he might be when i actually go pop, and while i know all labours are different my DD was 7lb 9oz and got stuck at the last minute and i had to be cut and have her tugged out with forceps after 14 1/2 hours labour.... so i dont think i will be able to push some hoofing 10 pounder out of my bajingo! (not without flapping around in the breeze for months after! lol)
I almost like the idea that its been taken out of my hands
so im not sure if i want him to turn back on his own now... from a purely selfish point of view, having a section would be a great help as far as DD is concerned, we could arrange defintely who is having her, taking her to school etc instead of having vague "i'll call you when it happens" plans
i dont know.... i really dont! i just wasnt expecting it!

chocaholic110 - thats what we were thinking, at least there would be something happening on his birthday every year! who doesnt love a firework display! lol

I have my normal scheduled MW appointment this morning, im going to have a good chat with her....
