Hiya
I have been back at work for the last three days, and OMG what a lot of activity:
Redbedhead, Doobees and cazscoob - congratulations.
Septbaby, Jojo, Nickydee5 and Squashy - many many many congratulations. You see you did finally get your babies in the end !!
Agutka - you are surely the coolest 9m pg woman around. I hope that if I go overdue, I can take a leaf out of your book. Best of luck for your induction, if that is what it comes to. You have 48 hours ....
Ab7167 - sorry about the SPD but hope you are enjoying your ML. I have tomorrow off work, then 4 days and then finally my ML starts. I can't wait. I will be 36+6. So much for me working until the end, like I did twice before.
Fac73 - lucky you to be getting the pethadine. When I broached it with my MW she said that yes I could get a prescription from the GP, but she (and the vast majority of community MW who attend homebirths will not administer it. I am f....... annoyed at that, so why should I even bother. And if I abuse the MW during labour - she asked for it, by denying me !
Finally 3Kids, glad to hear that the amnio went well, even if emotionally do aren't so sure. I felt quite confident after mine, as I could see / tell from the scan that my baby was safe, and although I most certainly took it easy that day, I felt safe. The uncertainty of your baby's condition is a black cloud that you can do without duirng pg, so knowing one way or another really was the best (for us at least). Can't say what we would have felt like if our result had come back as confirmed for Downs, but that is really another conversation. The great thing about amnio is that it can tell you 100% what sex your baby is - if you care to know. We didn't, but [STRIKE]so wish we did[/STRIKE], no no, we are happy with waiting for our surprise. Neutral clothes buying has been a challenge but we will get a lovely surprise in the next month or so.0 -
Hi all,
Just wanted to post and say congrats to all new EDD'ers (does that make sense?) and to all who have recently given birth. :j  :T
Congrats and good luck to all new TTC'ers.:T
Also, I have found sports bras to my lifesaver during pregnancy. Pre-pregnancy, I was a size 40D. Big but not too big, but have only grown to a 42DD. I found that the wires were so uncomfortable even in a bigger size! I bought a cheap one at first because I have never worn them before but found them so comfortable that bought a few more! They have them in Peacocks near me for only £4 each!
Labour vibes to all who require/need them!0 -
Thanks izoom.
Had my scan on Thursday and we asked the sex and were told, i never knew an amnio would give definite results. do you think if i ask when they give me the results they will know then, or would i had to have asked beforehand. The 'black cloud' i can identify with and although my husband could have coped with it i don't think i could. Roll on Monday for the results
Trying to rest - which is actually pretty boring, am typing on a laptop so I can sit on the sofa. Sent OH out to buy some appropriately coloured baby clothes after the test to try and think positive.
Also have thrush which i treated and which didn't work. Now taking 1 pessary every night for 6 nights. Pregnancy is such a delight isn't it.now mum of 4!!!0 -

Been for amnio this morning. Feeling really rubbish and very weepy at the mo. Only time will tell if I have done the right thing. Baby is still moving which is a good sign. Should get results back early next week providing no-one in the lab drops it or anything daft like that. OH being helpful - but not sure how long this will last.
I have become quite addicted to this site and love to read what you have all been up to, great to have people to 'talk' to who are pregnant and can offer unbiased adviced because you don't know me.
Well done on making what for you has been a tough decision, hope you feel a little better soon. Some other posters have made comments about the actual procedure which sound very reassuring, and it is right, you really don't need the worry. Whatever happens we are around (and round!) if you need any support.Annabeth Charlotte arrived on 7th February 2008, 2.5 weeks early0 -
Pity we can't have ads, this thread would surely be sponsored by Gaviscon!!!! Maybe shares in the company is the mse answer. My last pregnancy my midwife (the witch) told me I couldn't have it during pregnancy at all. Only found out afterwards it was b***s.Annabeth Charlotte arrived on 7th February 2008, 2.5 weeks early0

Good evening ladies, how are we all tonight?
Just got back from a monster drive through BUMPY country lanes to see if we could start anything off, also got Mrs Millionaire on to her 2nd pineapple
Good job she likes it.:rotfl:
Does anyone know of any other ideas on how to start her off?

3kids, I hope that you can have a good weekend and relax a bit after making such a tough decision. :grouphug:
izoom - you might be better off. I spent TWO HOURS in Boots trying to get the prescription filled. It was one thing after another, culminating in the pharmacist telling me that my GP had not put the proper instructions on the prescription and that this renders it 'not legal'. He kept telling me to sit and wait while he would see what he could do. Frustrated doesn't even come close. He gave it to me in the end, so why two hours fuss
That's ridiculous though that you can have it - but not have it. Talk about dangling carrots. In my case my midwife has warned that some of the community midwives are not qualified for water deliveries. So I can have a water birth, but not a water birth. We're at their mercy aren't we? Speaking of pools did you get one sorted?

Anyway I cant go to her for my nursing bra as she would have to order off the tape measure (as I am a 38-40 h at the mo) and I wont ever buy a bra without trying it on ..not for £36.00! So does anyone know of anywhere I can go for one and will be able to try it on first or at least return it if it doesn't fit? M&S don't have them in my size and Contessa here dont do maternity.
Mothercare let you try them on. Will even send a lasy in to help if need be but after going to bravissimo and like you being told bra size varies according to bra type (i have some 38E and some 36F and some 38F!) I now also will not buy a bra without trying it on. Not a 'good' one anyway I wasn't too fussed about trying on my £3 primark ones!! Although I could have.0
