Sorry to hear of your aches and pains.

I went to Panel yesterday and to cut a long story very short, have been approved to have my daughter. In fact their comments were that it was the best match they had seen and they didn't even have any questions for me about my situation which is surprising seen as I am a single female adopter.

So........ all the stress just made me burst in to tears when I was given the news and shocked the whole panel as the decisionw as made so quickly and unanimously.

So all systems go for 22nd October, but sadly I am working right up to that date not giving myself any time just to be me for the very last time. But maybe tonight I can sleep without waking up every 10 minutes worrying.

    Good luck all

  • Ophie that's fantastic news :) I can't imagine the relief you must be feeling. I hope you sleep soundly tonight.
  • Hi All,

Firstly big congratulations and hugs to Casperlarue, Renstar, jtotheb, SeptemberBaby, jojo1978 and nickydee5! Wow! That's a lot of births! I'm sooo jealous, even though I've another month (at least) to go yet.

Congratulations as well to cazscoob and redbedhead, welcome to this wonderful thread that will have you laughing and crying all at the same time probably! :D

Good luck Agutka, I feel sure you'll be meeting your baby very soon

Thanks CG for the link to that article, it had me laughing out loud :rotfl: which was much needed.

At my last midwife appointment I asked about going for a visit to the hospital as my OH and I have never been there and she told me that they stopped doing them a few months ago!! They do a virtual tour online now, which we had a look at last night. it's basically a picture of a delivery room and when you hover over the different items it tells you what they are.. i.e. bed!!! It does also give you directions from the main entrance of the hospital to the delivery suite so I suppose that's something!

I didn't realise either that my next appointment which is at 38 weeks will be with a GP... I haven't seen a GP throughout my pregnancy so it seems a bit strange to be doing it now but I'm sure they have their reasons, also my midwife informed me that I shouldn't see her now until 40 weeks +7   but she did say that if I want to see her the week that I'm due then that will be fine as well!!
I'm busy decorating the bedroom today  think I'll probably regret it later!! I too am suffering with heartburn but it doesn't seem to be as bad as you poor girls have it, (big hugs) I'm managing to keep mine under control with spearmint rennie so far!

Ah well, best get back to the painting.. although as I keep telling Bump, he/she is still welcome to make an early appearance if they so desire.. I really won't mind!! :D

  • Congrats Ophie :j that's fab news :D

Fac - I was thinking about you earlier and felt sure you're next post would be telling us your baby had arrived... obviously my instincts were completely wrong.. another thing to blame on pregnancy hormones methinks! :rotfl:

congratulations Ophie, what wonderful news about you being such a good match.

Well, I now have an appointment to see GP this evening - vay impressed by how quick they fitted me in - so hopefully should get something nice to help me sleep at least.

And am going to see if chiropractor can fit me in ASAP - usually helps with the pain a bit. Has some interesting side effects, she asked me if I had been suffering with heartburn (duh!), and then did something that they normally use for hernia treatment (and here was me thinking they only did bones) - hey presto, no heartburn for the last 2 weeks. Can thoroughly recommend my lovely chiropractor, if any of you live near Abingdon.

Achievement of the day - getting a load of laundry from the washing machine to the tumble dryer without having to crawl on the floor. So humiliating when I have to resort to that. Even if no one can see...

:hello:Hello, I am new to this thread.

I am 16 weeks pregnant with our first and very excited:j

I would welcome any tips on how to have a baby the MSE way as we will be taking a big cut in money when I go on maternity leave as I am currently the main earner. We have saved for the baby but wherever we can save money along the line would be great.

We are moving house next week as well so I haven't got anything for the baby yet at all as it seemed silly to get things only to then have to move them:rotfl:

We are hoping to use clothes nappies but have been looking at dispos for those early meconium poos. A friend has recommended Nature Baby which look good - anyone know if they ever go on special in Boots? Or if there is somewhere cheaper to get them?

    Thanks

Congratulations! I used Nature baby a lot with DS and really liked them, and am planning on using them this time (as they're biodegradeable mostly) but will use any huggies vouchers etc first. They are still a bit specialised so I've never seen them on offer, and to be honest then only in Boots or Waitrose but I hope they are more widespread now.

Going to the Old Style Board is good, follow all Martin's tips re utilities etc and I'm sure somebody else will be on the way soon.

  • :j We have just come back from our (Hopefully) last visit to the midwife 39/40. All is well apart from it still seeming strange that hopefully this time next week we will have another little person in our lives. :j

Well Done Ophie, I bet you can't wait. :T

    Hi... Congratulations.

You're wise not to buy anything for the baby yet!!! You have ages to wait and for things to clutter up the house.

Also Nature Baby nappies are sold in Rainbow stores and they quite often have offers on such as 2 packs for £8.

    Hope that helps
