Bun, maybe the universe is telling you you will be moving to a huge house in the near future- with stairs and everything...[/quote]
It probably is, we are in a two bedroom maisonette and now we know we aren't having two boys this will be on the cards at some stage. I had mentioned that the baby may share his room so DS had very thoughtfully allocated a toy drawer under his bunk for it.
I'd definitely get the birth pool ready for action - it took long enough for the hospital one to fill when I had ds, and you are only supposed to go in them at a certain stage so you get the most out of them. Good luck!Annabeth Charlotte arrived on 7th February 2008, 2.5 weeks early0 -

I have got a smaller birth pool than 'standard' I think to try and speed things up but I hate waiting even for the bath to fill  so I'm sure it pays to be organised!0 -
Hi pregnant ladies ....
I started a poll here
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=565929
I am trying to find out what percentage of babies are born on early, due date, late etc .......
Thought some of you might be interested in the results.
If anybody has any official stats, would love to hear them.
For some reason (being 38+2) I am interested in this informaiton at the moment! I keep getting little pains and getting my hopes up.
I never really understood why people were so keen for their babies to come at dead on 40 weeks after being pregnant for so long, but I can kindof understand the emotional rollercoaster element of it now.0 -
Thanks, he has his moments! He's unfortunately picked the baby he wants from the cover of the Babies R Us catalogue. Fine I can manage the girl, but the mixed race part with long brown curls is going to prove more difficult! If she's anything like him, she'll be bald until she's one poor thing.
I hope your home birth goes well, must be nice to not have to wonder about when it will happen travel-wise. It never occured to me that ds would be born in the daytime, and true to form he wasn't.Annabeth Charlotte arrived on 7th February 2008, 2.5 weeks early0 -

I had DS2 2 days before my birthday (a couple of years ago though). Had the delight of spending my birthday in a queue at the passport office. Long story - I think he may hold the record for being the youngest person to have a passport. He was born on 4 Sept and it was issued on 7 Sept. The really amazing thing about this is, it was a third world country, where the norm has been on occassion to wait for up to a year for a passport !
The fact that he had soiled his nappy and I had no way of changing him, which brought on a major flood of tears worked wonders .... it got me to the front of the queue.0 -

Agutka, tempt fate and get that pool up (says I who probably won't put hers up until she is in labour. Ours in an open plan lounge / dining room and the pool will have to sit wack spam in the middle of the room. In full view of the front door, I have just realised too).

Well of course you are, it's not Thursday yet... Honestly!
Excellent point about Curious George izoomzoom. She hasn't posted for a whole week . Hope she's okay...
Nobody is phoning me today - you know with 'have you given birth' sort of questions... Even my parents said, ahh yes, we meant to call... Never mind... I still feel special in my own head :wall:0 -

Agutka, wait until you are 10 days overdue and your Dad's been ringing you every day at the same time since about 38 weeks just so he doesn't miss out on any news.... (that was with DD). Bless him, I know he cares but he's doing the same thing this time as well and it's driving me a tiny bit nuts!!
(Even once we'd gone into hospital to have DD, there seemed to be hourly taps at the door, with 'we've got your dad on the phone wanting to know how things are going'...until finally through gritted teeth my OH v politely said please tell him we'll phone him with any news....).
Parents! Tell me we won't be like it one day lol0
