Your first baby .... early, due date or late? Please vote ...

Hi, I am due to have my first baby in a week and a few days and was looking on the Internet hoping to find some official statistics as to when first babies arrive. I haven't had a lot of luck, apart from to find out that only 5% of babies arrive on their actual due date.

Can you help me to compile my own stats, by voting in this poll?

I'm sure a lot of the ladies on the pregnancy thread will be following the results too :rotfl:

OOPS, I just realised I made an error in the poll and I can't seem to fix it now!!!!

    The last option

LATE ... overdue by upto (14 days weeks and was induced)

    Is supposed to say

LATE ... overdue by upto 14 days (and was induced)

But I guess most of you figured that out already :D

EEK!!!   Good job my bag is packed!!!

Thanks for your reply! Did you vote in the poll also (I can't see anybody filled in the option 14+ days early yet).

Hope the poll makes sense to everyone ... even with my typo!
  • First was two weeks late (and two days in labour!!!)

Second was 1 day early - was still going to work - was due to finish next day - being a contractor was more worried that I hadn't had my timesheet signed.

a girl i worked with has 3 children, whenever she finished to go onto maternity leave you could guarantee with in 3 days she'd have the baby. with her last one, she decided to take 2 weeks holiday from work before the maternity leave kicked in and within 2 days of going off from work, out popped amy!!!

Good luck with your baby Felicity.
My first son was born at 37wks so 3 weeks early, but then he was in a rush to get here-6 1/2 hrs start to finish.
My second son was born bny c-sect at 36wks due to not growing from 30wks.
My third, which happend to be a girl, decioded no matter how much I tried she was not going anywhere. I had given up hope and knew I was going to be induced. However, my daughter had a different opinion and on her due date New years day morning my contractions started. Was a suprise as only 5% are supposed to come on due date.

Junior arrived 10 days late, born at home. Kicked off around 10 in the evening and finished 7:20 the following morning. I was shattered, I think the missus was a little bit worn out too.

Sleep now while you can, 15 months later after the birth I still feel continually tired.

You might not want to start a similar poll on 'How long was your labour...'

  • Good luck with your impending arrival!

First DS was born 8 weeks early, 20 mins in delivery!! He still cant wait for anything, lol

Second DS born 10 weeks early, 2 weeks in labor (not induced, its still better for them to stay inside when they are so early). He is still a lazy so and so!:D
I also remember the words of my friends, but I would rather have enemies than friends like you :p
