41 weeks and 6 days for my little cherub.:A

My favourite saying for people who asked when 'it' was due was " It'll come when it's cooked" - my little bun took a little bit longer to be cooked all the way through!

The team had wanted to induce me on the Friday, 30th October, but I was convinced 'it' would arrive over the weekend so told them I'd come in on Monday. They reluctantly agreed- and- how very MSE, our daughter was born on the Saturday- Hallowe'en so we missed the guisers/trick or treaters.:money: :rotfl:

ps DD is convinced she must have the potential to be a witch because of her special birthday.

The only stat I ever saw ( in a midwives maternity book my sis had lent me)was that a first baby would arrive 4 months give or take two days after it first kicked.Might have been 5 months though, that's 8 years ago now. My DD first kicked on the 3oth and was born on a 31st:D

  • I hope everything goes really well with your labour and the birth of your first baby - the very best of luck. It's very exciting!

I have two little girls and both were born on their due date. My second was due on 29th Feb - I really didn't think I could have two out of two on their due dates but I now have a leap year baby!

I think the main thing to know about due dates is the fact that we don't know when they are coming just shows that your baby is in charge from the very moment they are born! That won't change!

    Have fun!

My little one was born at 35 weeks, he was 6lb 4oz, perfectly healthy and labour was only 45 mins. The anticipation of pain had got to the point where I asked for gas and air, they looked where I was and said no your too far on push, so I got to do it without any painrelief, but the adrenilin kicks in so it was not that bad. I rememer spending most of my labour having the midwife asking me to push and responding with "no I want a glass of water", LOL.

    Good luck on yours

My younger daughter was born on Halloween! She was 2 weeks late , born naturally though she was breech and weighed 6lbs 2oz. Labour lasted about 6 to 7 hours and I had an epidural.

My elder daughter was born on the due date which was 29th December. I thought she was going to arrive on Christmas Day , but I think it must have been just the head engaging. I was in labour for about 20 to 22 hours. Didn't realise it was labour at first , had to ring my sister eventually to see if she thought I was and by the time I walked over the road to the maternity hospital (I literally did live over the road from it and it had just started snowing when I went over!) my contractions were about 3 minutes apart (IIRC) and I gave birth to her about an hour or so after I got there. I had pethidine and she weighed 6lbs 9oz.

    Good luck Felicity icon7.gif

Both my boys arrived at 38 weeks: DS1 was 38+5 and DS2 38+6. If I ever have another one (a big IF), I'll know when to expect them! :D

    Good luck Felicity! :)

My first came at 38 weeks and my second at 37w2d.

All 3 of my Mum's children, as well as my sister's 3 have arrived around 2 weeks early, so I kind of knew what to expect :)
