So sorry to hear that Ophie! :grouphug:

SB, your time will come soon enough. What a way to spend your b'day!

Went to hospital yesterday, first saw nurse who told me that my last blood results were cancelled as the nurse who took them had put stickers on the bottles and not handwritten the details! This was after being told by mw on friday that they were all ok! Then waited to see doctor who looked at me blankly and asked why I was there. :confused:When explained mw appt on friday and what was said, she told me that baby big but nothing to worry about! Didn't even do a scan. Then had to have bloods done again and go back in 3 weeks. At least I know there is nothing to worry about but feel it was a waste of time! x

Poor Ophie, I hope you get a chance again in the very near future.

Poor SB, I know someone who gave birth the day after her own birthday. Apparently they were out celebrating in a restaurant and she sat at the table with contractions . Nice. I hope you get your way and she is born not on thursday. And Happy Birthday for thursday, while I'm at it.:bdaycake::j

And Sadie, what a weird way for your health professionals to stress you out! Sounds like someone out there is not getting the right info. At least you know everything is allright eh?
    :wall:
  • Sadie that must have been frustrating but also glad to hear there's no news, if you know what I mean!

Hope things get a move on SB and jojo :j

Congratulations and welcome to jmarko and his wife :hello:

tsstss believe me that was not wishful thinking, like Agutka I am happy waiting (at least until the 10th ;)) and am not in a hurry. Baby can't come until the house is ready, and that's that! All pain and twinges disappeared overnight and this morning I feel completely 'normal'.

Birth pool is here though so slightly relieved and we are going to do a test run (!!!!!!!!) tonight or tomorrow.
I might sort out some more baby clothes today. Just when I think I'm done, someone else gives us more - which is lovely of course but it would be nice if they could wash and iron them first ;)

Agutka - the day is young... your complacency could just be a challenge to the pregnancy gods, y'know...

Bought it a while ago, no idea where the receipt is, and we dont have a bargain shop near us. Never mind, can't have every bargain.

Ophie, so sorry to hear your news, sending you some hugs.:grouphug:

SB, you have to go into labour soon, i think my baby is waiting until after yours is born, before she even thinks about coming,;)

Oh Ophie, I'm so sorry about your news. Take care of yourself from me too.

Congratulations to everyone else joining the list, and yet more vibes to those who need them. On a good note I can't get hold of my friend who was due last Wednesday, so if she is in action it may start a domino effect.

I am still on cloud 9 after finding out we are having a girl. I'm really quite shocked, as was convinced it was a boy, largely OH says, because this one looks identical to ds (we have printouts of the scan and him helping make some toast in the kitchen and the profiles could be the same person).

Remembered last night that the phone rang when we were on the way out. It was a message saying I'd won a comp at Babies R Us from Sunday, and I've won a stairgate. Ok we're in a ground floor flat, but never needed one with ds to keep him out of rooms etc. I have gone from being pleased to wondering what this one is going to be like if fate is sending me things to keep her out of trouble!
Annabeth Charlotte arrived on 7th February 2008, 2.5 weeks early :D

Test run of the BIRTH pool? Hmm. And I'm the one challenging the gods?

That is so true about the washing and ironing! My MIL says she's got me some muslins and nappies . This is after I has sorted out my own stash of 40 muslin squares and spent the day trying to hide all the nappies (was it SB who had bought nappies for the whole world by week 20 of pregnancy?). Not that I'm not grateful, but there are things I would prefer and can't afford...

Well, I know I'm a first time mother, but I have heard that babies don't just fall out. There's some sort of run up to the big moment, involving discomfort, pain and a lot of swearing. Having experienced none of the above, I am quite confident that today is not the day... :p

Right, what are we going to do about jojo's little one? Did you have any specific plans? Because there's some of us  who are ruining the whole labour vibes channeling by wanting to postpone the inevitable. Which is slightly different to the early september sagas...

Bun, maybe the universe is telling you you will be moving to a huge house in the near future ;) - with stairs and everything...

We-ell... I need to know that it fits in the dining room, and how long it takes to fill, and how impatient I am going to get while I wait :D It's mainly for OH's benefit so I don't lose it with him :o I have a hair appointment tomorrow though so maybe I should wait until after then...

I think it was SB with the nappies :rotfl:I've put some in almost every room in the house now and will probably forget where they are and find some in five years when we move out...

You're quite right of course but a quick glance at the birth list suggests that some do break the rules and get out early! According to my pregnancy book, 5% arrive 'on time' - someone has to be in that 5%! Tick tock - 11 hours is plenty of time for labour ;)
