    congratulations lillieflower.

I have three and half weeks 'til due date. Still working until 19.06.07. I am feeling quite run down at mo. Had few deaths recently to deal with. This weekend have ended up with what I think is impetigo. I'm off to see GP later for them to look at. Very unsightly. I feel very self conscious of it and quite low. I know it's silly but I'm worried about how it's affecting baby.

Reading about the 4d scans sounds amazing. Financially I have never been in a position to have one and as I am so close to the end now I know I will see my baby soon, however I'm sure it's amazing to see so much on the monitor.

I had 36 week check at weekend. All is well. I heard baby heartbeat for the first time as the midwife used the doppler thing. She says they don't offer that as routine anymore where as with my other two children I got to hear it every check up.

    Anyway have a good day.

Can I come and work with you please? :o

We do have one of those mobile air con units, but it has to be by the only window which is quite far from me, but right next to two colleagues - so they get too cold for the rest of us to find it bearable. No chance of any desk swapping unfortunately.

I have bought a big paddling pool to sit in when it is very hot :D

I have 3 weeks leave to take, so in theory I could go as early as mid-July but then would be skint by September.

Then I got thinking, I could do lots of AQA if I left early to get some cash - but sitting at my pc at home would I be better off? Or should I splash out on air con at home too - would I get cabin fever - no friends that don't work. I spent a lot of time housebound last summer with an injury, meant I could just about hobble to the shops and back, didn't mind too much at first but I did get a bit lonely.

oh jenpoptab, sorry to hear you're having a bad time of it, my moaning about the heat is a bit trivial really. I used to get flare ups of impetigo now and then, you have my sympathy

I loved hearing the heartbeat, could've stayed all day listening to that :j

Congrats to all the newcomers (both newly pregnant and newly born!) ... it's exciting! And what's with all this moaning about the heat? It's been raining up here for the last month!

I can identify jenpoptab, although you're a month ahead of me. My sore ladybits seem to have settled down although I am walking like I need the toilet all the time ... but I am tired now and plan to ask my boss if I can cut back my hours a bit. It's easy to cope with fatigue until everyone starts commenting on what a wreck I look like, and then I start feeling both tired AND selfconscious! I hope the doc gets your impetigo cleared up - it must be miserable for you. :grouphug:

Ah, but this time you wouldn't get lonely as you've got us to talk to :D (or should that be  lol)

I'm self-employed, so I'm lucky in that I don't have to be stuck in a hot office all day - I'm stuck in a hot house or a hot car instead :rotfl: (just joking, it's not hot here - yet!)

That's one thing I'm pleased about this time, that we're up in Scotland and the summers are not half as bad as Hampshire, where we were before. (The summer when DS was born was the hottest one of the century or something - that was a nightmare! )

I think I'll be starting maternity leave mid-July - about 34 weeks-ish. I'm convinced this one is going to come a couple of weeks early, so don't want to leave it until too long.

But yes, sorry to hear everyone's suffering from the heat and other horrible things :(

The worst bit of my moaning is that a friend has had much worse to cope with recently and I've ended up moaning to her today and now feel bad about it. I feel thoroughly hormonal which doesn't help matters either. Funnily I didn't feel too uncomfortable in the heat yesterday, it's much cooler today but overcast.

I just know that we are going to have the hottest summer ever when my bump is at its biggest but of course if I was having a winter baby I would then be fretting about slipping in the snow :rotfl:

I left work 2 years ago with all good intentions of finding another position but never quite got round to it  DH didn't realise it was that long until I reminded him today ;) but I do know what its like to work in a stuffy office where only the partners have AC

Been shopping today and picked up even more nappies! That makes 12 packs (a mixture of Huggies, Pampers, Boots own and Sainsburys own). I just love getting all my stash out and just looking at it! :o Hope I'm not the only one!

    xx
  • Hello everyone,

I logged into Martins new site today which looks great I have to say! I haven't been online for a while and i've been taking some time to catch up.

I didn't realise my original thread had been closed and a new one started. Wow it went to 164 pages, that's amazing, thanks to everyone who helped make it so.

I don't really post here now as my little Jack was born in November, so I hang out at the MSE Parent Club, but hey you never know one day Jack may have a sibling and I'll be checking in again.

Good luck to every single pregnant lady and also to those TTC.

Oh hi Bailey, thanks for this thread, it's been an inspiration and phenomenal help.

SeptemberBaby - you're collecting nappies already? I only have a few samples and a small pack of Huggies, which I had to get to pick up the changing bag.
When I feel ready to spend real money on the baby I'm going to have to have a baby wipe test. I find them really unpleasant smelling due to the lack of perfume. I think my SIL was using Pampers and I still can't stand them. Or, apparently, persil non-bio. I got a sample from NTC and I can't bring myself to use it, gross. Thankfully Ariel seems okay, as do the tesco tablets I bought to start laundering the accumulating piles of baby clothes.

Funny thing happened. Somebody gave me their pram. Seven year old graco, which needs a good wash. I wasn't impressed as it didn't have all the hoo-haa features of prams I like. Until my MIL, a lady with many years childminding experience came over and started playing with it. My jaw was on the floor as she clicked and clacked the pram into all sorts of positions, including reversing it back to front. Thank you MIL.

You're not :o. I've got 4 packs of Pampers, a big box of Pampers and 2 Huggies, I think. I'm planning on getting a load more soon as I've got some Boots extra points vouchers burning a hole in my purse, and I've just had extra points vouchers from Tesco in the post as well. It makes sense buying them when you can get extra points - that's my excuse anyway. :p

I've also acquired a few packs of wipes from mystery shopping. I keep telling myself that even though it looks a lot now, once you start using them, they'll be gone really quickly.
