Congratulations Fac73 on the scan and "engagement" that isn't just yet

Those of you having a 4d scan - I had one a few weeks ago when I was 28 weeks and the detail in them is amazing. From seeing each individual fingers and seeing the eyes open to watching the cords float around and seeing baby stretch and all the tendons in the neck showing. We were so thrilled we had it done. Our baby definately looks like my husbands side of the family.

I was measuring 3 weeks ahead of where I should be just before having it and was told if I was big again next check I would be sent for another ultrasound, so was quite excited about that, but having now had the 4d scan, I don't want an ultrasound as the 4d scan was so clear I'm not at all worried and I've seen the baby so much clearer than I would do if we had anotherultrasound even just before baby arrives.

If you have the chance to have a 4d scan, have it done!!

Eels100 - take it easy, you shouldn't be over doing it, getting pain is the first sign you are dong too much. One of the best things the physio told me at the class was pain is your bodies way of telling you, you are doing to much and you should listen to it as you can end up doing more damage long term otherwise. I'm not trying to scare you, but please take it easy you will be doing enough when the baby arrives, now if your chance to relax a bit and enjoy being pregnant not trying to cram as much in as possible. If it isn't done, it isn't done, don't worry. You're setting yourself up for a fall if you continue doing too much.

Hi everyone

Finally managed to get online after spending the last 19 days sinking under the weight of feeding, nappies and a screaming newborn!

Our daughter was born on the 15th May; I was induced as I was so late and had to have an emergency c-section but ultimately everything was ok which is the main thing. Congratulations to those who've given birth since I last accessed the internet (seems like another lifetime away now!), and also to those who were TTC and are now expecting.

Oh, BTW, can thoroughly recommend an epidural; don't do labour without one! I was planning on a water birth originally but believe me, the drugs don't work and an epidural is definitely the way to go!!!

Hi everyone,

Pleased to say that DP is pregnant and we have a due date for January 22nd 2008.

To say we are happy is true, but DP is especially happy as she has worked it out that she will have Xmas off this year from work, plus we will be able to take advantage of the Sales to find some bargains.

So congrats to everyone else who are expecting, those who's have arrived, and best of luck for those TTC.

I know we've only had a few days of it but how is everyone coping with the heat? I am dreading work today and it's not even supposed to be that hot. It's got me contemplating starting maternity leave as early as I could possibly manage, to avoid spending all of August in what is basically an airless box.

Fac73 - I'm the complete opposite I'm trying to work as long as possible as we have an air conditioned office and I'm not looking forward to be huge and sat in our house which is really stuffy in the summer and would be even worse if I was sat outside, unless there is a breeze. I'm taking 8 days holiday before my due date, but DH decided on the weekend that I'm actually going to be a week early. No idea how he knows, but he was adement (?sp).
