Hi katym79
I know the support stockings aren't that great especially when its hot. I've got to wear them all day as my sister had a DVT when she was pg so consultant said there is a chance I could to, so have no choice but to were them. Well I do have a choice I suppose, SEXY stockings or a DVT I know what I choose!!
Maybe you could persevere with the support stockings/socks during the day or maybe even wear them on the way to work then take them off!! Worth a try!!!
I had to go to boots first thing in the morning (whenever they opened) so I could get measured for mine. Might be worth going to GP get a prescription for them (at least it's free during pregnancy) so at least if you can't stand them you haven't spent a fortune on them.

Hi all,
Went for my 20 week scan on Wednesday and according to scanner I am 19 and a half weeks, whereas according to the dating scan I should be 20 weeks and 2 days. Is it ok that this has changed? She said everything was fine but I'm a worrier!! I daren't even add myself to the list!!! Also, will they still use the date from my dating scan or my anomoly scan? Baby was being awkward too and wouldn't flip over so I've got to go back in a fortnight so they can check his spine, although she said she was sure it was fine just routine cos they have a checklist. I'm gonna be a nervous wreck by the time this baby arrives! Thanks!!!0 -

that's pretty normal - dating isn't an exact science and all babies vary (plus they can go through growth spurts at different times) anything within a week or so of your due date will usually mean they keep the same date so 5 or 6 days is nothing to worry about.0 -
Hiya all, and congratulations to all the newbies. Don't think we have had any births since I last posted, but if we have, congratulations too.
After getting my 'lowish' high risk result on my triple test, we finally had our amniocentesis on Wednesday. The procedure was quite painless, in fact the pencil the consultant used to mark the spot hurt more ! My placenta is right in the front and they had no choice but to do the amnio straight through it.
We also opted not to find out the sex, which has really amazed me, but we get so few surprises in life these days.
We may get results back today, but MW said, more likely to be Monday. I am quite positive about the results but am still keeping my fingers crossed.0 -

At my 20 wk scan the baby's legs measured nearly a week older than its head did and nobody bothered about that - I was just grateful it won't have the stumps I've been 'blessed' with! In my health board unless you measure a full week out from your dates they stick with your original one I think. And don't worry about the re-scan ... parts of my baby's heart weren't visible at the first scan so I went back 3 weeks later for another one and everything was fine. So do try not to worry about it - unless they can see all the bits they can't tick the box, so just look forward to getting another scan and don't let it concern you. I'm now 33 weeks and getting my insides rearranged on an hourly basis ...0 -
Hi all
Becky, I'm sure the MS will end soon! I remember thinking if this is pregnancy then stuff it - but then feeling soooo guilty afterwards! x
Minskerella, I'm sure everything will be fine. The dating thing is just approximate so try and put your mind at rest. I had to opposite where my babe just wouldn't stop flipping over! x
iZoom, so glad all went well on Wed and I hope the results get to you quickly. We will all be thinking of you over the weekend x0 -
2 bits of great news today,
I got my downs syndrome and spina bifida results back and they are fine, we are not at high risk for either of those
and also we booked our 4D scan for 4th August, we get a 15 minute scan, a dvd of the whole thing and 4 photos for £99, not bad considering all the other packages we looked at were for hundreds
we cant wait! :j :j :j0 -

(he gets them from his Dad as well ). Judging by the way I get kicked, I reckon the scanning lady is right. :rotfl:
Curious George (DS is watching that right now BTW, it's one of his favourites), glad to hear all your good news! :j
Izoom: fingers crossed!
