  • Thanks both of you. I think we are booking a 4d scan anyway, just so that I finaly feel as if I can buy something! And the midwife did sort of insinuate it was my fault - I had to lie this wasy and that way, then empty my bladder, then go for a walk then back on my side.

Oh and forgot to say she also mentioned I had fibroids growing at the top of my cervix and it may need to be monitored if baby doesn't get into place by about 35 weeks (though as neither baby 1 or 2 went where they needed to be till almost the birth I can't see this one doing so)

Will ask the midwife, snaggles, though I'm not there for another 3 weeks. Everyone at work just said it's because I'm "so much older this time" - I'm only 33 for goodness sake!

(Think I am having a hormonal day today!!)

Emma, well done you! :T And congratulations on the birth of baby Phoebe - lovely name! Hope you both get some sleep tonight. :)

Aww, this thread is so lovely when there's baby news and pics and birth stories!

BTW the SMA advert gives me a lump in my throat too. :o

September, how often do you see your MW! The best we get are fortnightly appointments and that's shared with GPs. And they never offer to visit!

They have really been checking up on me since my BP started to play up . Just flicked thru my notes and I have had 5 home visits since 8 September! :o and I have another booked for Monday! The MW's clinic is on a Thurs at my Dr's but they wanted to check my BP more regularly than weekly hence all the home visits!

PS: Just glanced back some more and I have seen a MW 18 (YES, EIGHTEEN!) times since week 10!

  • Had my 20 week scan yesterday. Came away feeling a bit deflated as everything seemed a bit vague. Was anyone else's sonographer like that? Apparently everything is "probably" ok but no guarantees. And baby is likely to possibly be a boy but again no guarantees. feel a bit cheated as everyone else seems able to say it's a boy, or it's a girl but I can only say it's possibly a boy (and everyone thinks, yeah, we know that much!)

I know exactly how you feel!

We had a lovely sonographer at 10 weeks but not for the 20 week scan and were so very disappointed after looking forward to it for so long! The pictures could have been of anything - the 10 week ones look more like a baby! And she said the cord was in the way so unable to tell us the sex. We walked out so deflated but had to keep telling ourselves that at least our baby was OK! :o

Like CG, we also paid for a 4D scan and it was fantastic. And my daughter is due next Wednesday!

  • Congratulations Emma - phew! Well done, I hope you get some well deserved sleep now.

Sarahmoon - the pics are gorgeous. I'm getting excited for myself now and I still have weeks and weeks and weeks to go!

Birthing vibes to all those overdue.

I've got a confession to make (and I think this is why I can't quite bring myself to leave this thread even though my baby is 4 months old :rotfl:):

I really want another baby!

My head knows it's ridiculous, my hubby doesn't want another....sigh.....and we're not even getting on well enough to be doing anything that will make me get pregnant, but I am just sooo broody. How crazy is that???

Someone talk some sense into me quick... :o

  • So was I. I was broody on the operating table as they were taking Tadhg out of my womb. Thankfully mother nature ensured our sex life was well and truly on the back burner for a good few months  whilst I healed and baby got into a routine. Managed to hold out for a few more months and got pg when baby was 1. I'm 9 wks today hopefully.

I feel my clock is ticking (I've just turned 37) so I felt I couldn't hang about. However, if I was below 35 again, I think I would probably have waited another year at least. If nothing else, I would have shifted all the baby weight and childcare fees won't be so horrific. I don't think I will be able to take as much time off this time purely because of financial constraints. We will see.
