Sadie, could it be SPD? I'm sure someone will be along with info soon! But contact your MW ASAP if you are worried x
Emma, I just know you must have brought your baby into the world by now! So looking forward to you letting us know you are both OK xx
I'm sitting in waiting for my MW again!!! She called this morning and asked if I would mind an afternoon visit instead......I wouldn't mind but I get up, showered, dressed and walk the dog before 9am on each visit :rotfl:.
I had to remove my wedding ring this morning  much to DH's disgust! My fingers are a bit puffy and I got scared that it might have to be cut off!
CG & Incognito, that SMA advert makes me cry EVERY time!

Thought it was about time I updated everyone on the birth. Had a second sooty on the Thursday morning, when the MW said I was 3cm dilated, labour kicked in at 8:30, went into the MLU at 3am was told baby had turned and was back to back, but would probably turn back to correct position. Was 5cm by 7am and got into the birthing pool. Stayed in there until 1pm when got out to be told I was still only 7cm, and baby hadn't turned. Laboured until 4:30 when I finally got to 10cm, so far just TENS, water and gas and air, but decided I needed something more and had some pethadine. I then pushed for 2 hours and didn't progress at all so they decided to send me up the the consultant unit. I was then given a spinal so they could put an epidural in, (which took them 2 hours) my contractions had stopped by this point so they gave me syntocin and pushed for another hour. At 9:30 they decided I wasn't going to birth naturally so prepped me for theatre, to try with the forceps and if that didn't work a section. My spinal had worn off by then and realised the epidural hadn't worked so was given another spinal and Rhys was finally born at 23:00 on the Friday evening following an epipisotmy (sp?) and forceps.
I was terrified for the last 6 hours as no-one really explained what was happening and why, but Rhys arrived safely and is perfectly healthy.
We were then discharged 12 hours later.
I have not had the best of experiences, but he is worth every shattering minute and I would do it again in a flash for him.
He is a really good baby and is already sleeping 5 - 7 hours a night straight through (as long as I don't eat the wrong thing). I will get a photo sorted later and post soon.
Hope everyone else is doing ok and "enjoying" their pregnancies, (hope this has scared anyone, have been told I was just unlucky and its rare for this to happen).0 -

What SMA milk advert? I'm so glad I don't have easy access to a telly atm!
Welshlassie, thanks for that - I knew there was a good reason for me to put 'keep me informed on all procedures' in my birth plan! Glad it all worked out in the end.
Sarah, I can't believe you were shopping. Aren't you supposed to get free stuff if your waters break in a shop?
September, how often do you see your MW! The best we get are fortnightly appointments and that's shared with GPs. And they never offer to visit!
Incognito - sign of something starting? Hope not, you're not starting maternity leave for nothing, you need to rest before baby, or even before the giant long labour it seems. Let's all just go to bed!
Hopeless Cook - it's never too early, my SIL has been nagging me to pack since I was 32 weeks! Although I still haven't done it! Whoopsie... To be fair though, it's all technically here... somewhere...
Sadie, I do hope it's nothing serious, hope you can learn to manage it. I've had episodes of bad pains throughout, but they always eventually went away, so have been scared of all sorts of diagnoses. Got lucky I suppose. I am ignoring any pains now, as its late in the pregnancy and probabaly normal, but I still manage to wake the neighbourhood when turning over in bed! Or getting up... or walking first thing... or anything really:o .:wall:0 -
