Congratulations, Sarah! Hope you can pop along soon with the whole story
Emma - I can only echo what everyone else is saying really, you poor thing. It really is just a matter of time now but I can't imagine the frustration - I think Justie's advice is good, start shouting loudly for them to do something! I hope by the time you read this things are better one way or the other...
ab7167 - another SPD sufferer here... not severe but worse than 'mild' I suppose. I am not quite housebound but going anywhere now is a bit more of a considered decision. For me it's more a case of, if I do something now, I'll pay for it tomorrow. I'm incredibly slow to walk now so need extra time for the simplest things but you get used to that.
Try not to worry about how you're feeling about the baby - the worst thing you can do right now is pile on the guilt. I don't think there are many of us here - whether planned or unplanned pregnancies - who haven't had various anxieties about it. I can't wait to meet my baby - but I'm still scared of the impact he is going to have. Life with my OH is really, REALLY good right now and surely a baby is just going to disrupt things, take away some of the time I have with him, ruin our sex life and turn me into an unattractive, sleep-deprived, conversation-less bore. But I cannot now imagine looking forward to life without our baby in it. It's going to be hard, sure, but it's going to be amazing.0 -
they wont do anything im so exhausted they just keep saying its normal i dont know how much longer i can cope
until i get to 5mins apart - but my ct are that long i only have 5 mins in between - and 3 cm i have to stay at home
i have been awake since 4am sunday morning (sat night last sleep)
did they help you and speed you up?
were you in established labour all that time?
im still not "established" so who knows how much longer this might go on
The good thing is the baby will be sleepy when s/he is born, so you will get a chance to sleep the first couple of days (and then the fun will start again).
Good luck, again! If this goes on for too much longer, do tell them to do something!0 -

Hi guys, just added myself to list. Second one for me.
DS started school last week, he's only just turned 4. Felt fine during last week, but cried like a baby after saying goodbye today. Think it's the pregnancy hormones - is anyone else crying at random things?0 -

Sorry,
I did that last post incorrectly, how do I save my edd?
Sorry

sarahmoon congratulations :j :j :j
emma_b make them listen to you, the one thing I realised after having my 1st is that I took everything they said at face value & just accepted it. I know you must be exhausted but keep at them til they listen & do what you want. It's your birth and only you know how much you can take. Sending you lots of positive vibes & loads of luck.

Hi all, especially Emma, I really hope things speed up for you fast, keep on at your midwife, they should be doing something by now!!
Well here goes I'll try to keep it short, got up yesterday morning and tidied up, forced OH into going shopping as sitting waiting was driving me mad. On the way to the local shopping centre I mentioned that baby had been quiet that morning, still moving but quieter than usual. Anyway when we got to the shopping centre we split up, I hit New Look with the girls and OH and DS went to Game. As I was walking down to Game to find OH, thought I felt a bit wet. Went to find the toilets (TMI??) and by this time was soaked. No gush though just a constant trickle. Phoned Hospital and was told to go in a get checked and if it was my waters that was it I was staying in hospital because of the strep B. Chaos was the order of the day then trying to arrange for the kids to go to OH mum's, get my notes and bags collected and getting to hospital. Got there and was checked and was told definitely waters and that antibiotics would started pretty much straight away. Got IV in and then nothing, no contractions. Was check at about 8 -9pm and told I was 3m dilated. MW poked about at waters again and things stared moving slowly. Got second lot of antibiotics at 10.30pm and then at 11pm was put on hormone drip to speed things up and my god did it speed things up!! OH couldnt get the gas and air off me, I had an argument with the midwife about pain releif and eventually got diamorphine (amazing stuff!!). OH says that I told the MW she had just injected water into me though as I couldn't feel any pain releif and that they were just faking me lol!! Before I knew it I had an urge to push and two VERY VERY painful pushes later Oliver appeared. He is 7lb 7ozs. We came home at 6am because I had an overwhelming urge to just be at home with my older kids. I am exhausted, the afterpains are agony (Iwas told this was because the more kids you have the worse they get and because I'm breastfeeding) but we are so happy. We now have 2 DD and 2DS and our family is perfect. I will upload photos tomorrow and put on a photobucket link. Good luck to all!!! Thanks for your support for my moans, and I really hope everything goes well for everyone that is left.
Emma I will check daily to see when it happens for you and really really hope it is soon, I know how hard it is but it is sooo worth it when you see your baby for the first time!!
P.S. Sorry its so long!!!They took my signature away!!!!0 -

everytime im sick,
when a fly landed in a much wanted cup of tea,
when my DD wont stop arguing,
not being able to get comfy at night thanks to the giant bump and the chronic heartburn,
random adverts on tv (especially the SMA milk ones voiced over by Ralf Little)
songs that never bothered me before,
the chemist giving me the wrong flavour gaviscon and then refusing to swop it (the difficult b!tch),
going to the freezer only to find we have run out of Fab lollies again,
my OH giving me a big soppy cuddle because i look tired,
going over drawn,
not being able to cope with the mass of giant spiders in my house this year,
feeling like a heifer thanks to all the 'pleasant' comments people make to pregnant women
and that time i thought my eye brows had "gone funny"
random? oh hell yes!
good to hear from you Sarah, cant wait to see the pics of your little man!
we loved the name Oliver, but couldnt use it, our surname is a little too close to Hardy for us to land the poor kid with all those jokes for the rest of his life!

Big congrats to mr & mrs Sarahmoon, hope to hear all the details very soon when you've recovered enough! ooh, hang on, you've posted them all while i've been trying to type this!
And emma_b, you deserve a medal, really hope you get real movement soon so you can get some sleep! they don't call it labour for nothing
Any ladies suffering from over-consumption of iron, try a glass of hot water with lemon juice squeezed (or shaken!) in first thing in the morning. I was using flaxseeds in water or in yogurt, but even that stopped working after a while, so the hot water/lemon juice has been a lifesaver! My iron levels are apparently 13.5, m/w said anything over 10 was fine/good so no wonder i'm a bit bunged :rotfl:
Hello to the newbies, and stop pushing in in front of me, got long enough to wait!0 -
Congrats to Sarahmoon, well done. Thanks for the timely tip about the afterpains, I thought I had forgotten them from the first time when I experienced them with the second. Now I know it's because they get worse each time:eek:
Emma, listen to your body, go with your instincts and stamp your feet and demand if you need to. I hope baba arrives soon.
Sorry, I've forgotten who had been diagnosed with SPD and was worried about it. I had it with my second pregnancy and at its most painful I likened it to being kicked in the crotch by a horse. However, with physio, a maternity belt and just plain old rest, it was manageable. Like the indigestion, it went as soon as I gave birth.
Sending birthing vibes to all who are waiting. :A0
