Hope you have your little bundle of joy by now, Emma
xxx
And, Sarah? Are you keeping us in suspense?!xxx
I have been taking Pregnacare tablets all thru my preg and my iron levels have been fab (and I'm a veggie!). Even the MW commented on them.

I've been gone for three days and no births! Emma I hope things are really moving along now - and where is Sarah??
Well I'm in my new house and we have the internet on so nothing to complain about here. Moving was pretty tough - well, stressful - but now we're in it was absolutely the right decision - I feel so much happier in this house.
Had my 36 week check up yesterday and more discussion about a home birth, we are really keen to go ahead and I must sort out a birth pool this week. Though I've been warned that not all midwives are trained on water deliveries so I might have to compromise if babe makes an appearance at a bad time.
Oh, the midwife said my baby is 'not huge' - she reckons I'm on course for about 7lb - but added a caveat, he does have four weeks to grow - but I so hope she's right!0 -
Fac, you're back! So glad you're happy in your new home. Hope you get it all sorted in the next few weeks.
With the birthing pool, are the MWs just not qualified for the actual birth? You can still labour in it though can't you? Which is really the whole pain-relieving point of them.
I had a dream that I read a post on here that Emma was done! It was a girl!
How long does it take to tile a bathroom and kitchen!! The b... decorator has been turning up all by himself recently, and although he is the boss, he's not the fastest worker in the world. Too much thinking to do . He's been doing my house for YEARS now, with no end in sight, because I have no idea who will put all our stuff in place now! Not me, I'm going back to bed.
After you give birth... where does all that skin go? Thoughtful hubby said girlie at work regained her original shape really quickly. Thanks, aren't you in for a shock when I remain flabby...:wall:0 -
Thanks Agutka
OH is being fab actually, he is back at work today and told me to write a list if I see anything I want doing, rather than do it myself. If only life was like that all the time...
Actually the midwife was a bit ambiguous about that but I assume that you're right, it's just the birth part - though she did tell me of one woman who unfortunately had an unqualified midwife present and refused to move! So that could be me
I am starting to worry about pain management now though. In my head the whole thing is a fairly calm affair from start to finish. I did consider this 'positive thinking' but that's been replaced with 'naivety'.
Agutka I honestly don't know how you've coped with that going on at this late stage - you could try and make this chap hurry up a bit with some well-timed bump-clutching and noises like 'ooh! was that a contraction?' - ask him if he's had any medical/first aid training, has he ever been present at a birth and so on. If that doesn't scare him into working faster he might just be handy to have around.
Hmm. OH is convinced I will bounce back to pre-pregnancy shape. I think in honesty he says it to be positive for my sake, rather than actually being deluded himself but sometimes I'm not so sure. My mum says after the birth your tummy is like a perfectly cooked sponge - well you know how you test a cake to see if it's done by pressing gently and it springs back up - she says it's like that. I can't even imagine not being this huge now. It's taken 8 months to get this big, but it still feels like it's just appeared overnight, in some ways. Pregnancy is a lot of contradictions, isn't it.
Oh and you're on for a race to the 10th - that would make me 2 days early by my EDD, and Wednesday's are good for me.0 -
Oooh, a race, excellent. Although after hitting 37 weeks things are not so much fun... I realised suddenly that I've had enough. Ho hum.
You're allowed to labour in a bath, so why would a giant pool in your living room be different?
I like the naivety approach to pain control, I am so with you there. Let's try not to think about it and maybe we'll have those two hour, whoopsie the baby's falling out labours
Your OH sounds like an angel - did he attend a class? Mine keeps mentioning I shouldn't be doing anything, let him etc, but when it comes to helping he's too busy/tired etc. We had a huge fight last night because I asked him to do the washing up (my bump keeps me a little far from the new shiny sink).
Where are those Early Septembers?? Get on with it, so we can start bothering SeptemberBaby!:D:wall:0 -

Congratulations Mr & Mrs Sarahmoon! Excellent news! :j
Poor Emma, I can imagine how tired you are - with my DS1, I had a sleep on a Sat night and had him on the Tue afternoon, with no sleep in between, so you've even broken my record. Have they told you what they're planning to do? Are they not going to put you on the drip to speed things up a bit?Good luck!
