Happy Birthday

miss pink sorry to hear your news i had a MC last year at 16 weeks i was fine for three weeks then the hormones dropped or somethign and i was a wreck so go easy on yourself and take care. i dont think it affects the odds of it happening again, i certainly wasnt told if it did, i was v paranoid and kept asking.
sarah, i know exactly how you feel i am now screening my callsi have another sweep sunday and if that doesnt work bring on the castor oil (dont know if i could though...................:o ) also the bit about being fat with a belly that moves made me giggle cos i was saying a similar thing to hubby yday :rotfl:
Agutka, no i didnt mean anyone was fat! just was quoting what my midwife told me as i went for my 16 weeks appt boasting i had only gained 2lb and she said so what we dont weigh you - my BMI was only just in a normal range dont want to work it out now! i have always had issues with my weight after gaining quite a lot and then working really hard to lose it, its been strange in pregnancy to try and stop weighing myself and accept the wobbly bits.
i too gave up smoking and had my honeymoon whilst pregnant so i can blame some of the gain on the three magnums a day i ate - i couldnt drink or smoke or use the jacuzzi so who was gonna stop me having magnums??!:D0 -
Sorry to hear your news Miss Pink
Like you, I found getting on with work and normal things was my way of coping with a miscarriage. (Miscarried at 8 weeks.)
Like everybody has said, having one miscarriage doesn't increase your chances of having another. I've had two perfectly healthy pregnancies (and children) either side of my miscarriage. I was advised to wait until I'd had a period before trying again.
Take care and hope to see you on here again when the time's right for you. xx0 -
36 weeks and no heartburn - this is probably a good thing, right? But I want the baby to have some hair!
BTW I didn't have any heartburn until a handful of occasions in the last couple of weeks, and Alex was born with hair.
Actually, didn't have heartburn at all with DS1 and he had hair too. Old wives' tales, tsk!
Happy birthday to 3kidsnomoney! :j :bdaycake:
Great story, Claire! I totally loved the gas and air too
And really sorry to hear your news, miss pink0 -

Hmmm...Cole...
Fac, I had an amazingly painful area that high up months ago. Made me cry for a few nights, turned out it was to do with my digestion! Thank goodness it went away, I hope yours does too. These symptoms seem to come and go, rather than hang around... hey, maybe it's because of your lack of heartburn - maybe the acid is corroding your spine!!!! Sorry!! I'll shut up now
September, I don't think my baby is back to back, as I definitely have the bum right up front, and besides, the pain has now gone... I'd rather not have one of those labours!
3kidsnomoney, Happy Birthday!!
Miss Pink, take care of yourself x:wall:0 -
A few of you have mentioned back pain, well I've got it bad, but don't think it's pg related, it's higher up and right on the ridge of a shoulder blade and it's driving me barmy.
Just so you know, I'm not pregnant or even TTC (yet, it's a battle of wills with DH that I will win, actually he's ok with it, it's battle of wills with myself but that's not why I'm posting.....) but I'm addicted to this thread!
Anyway, the reason I'm here, I've had that (I just have a stupid back though so same pain different reason prolly) and it really does hurt! Have you got a TENS machine? If not get one, I found the tens zapped pain that even lots of painkillers couldn't help!
Please do check with er, well, someone before you do this (if you decide to try it) because I really do know stuff all about what pregnant women can and can't do (there's so much!)! But if it's ok it really will help and then hopefully you won't have to take too many painkillers :-)Comping, freebieing and trying to pay the mortgage off early!0 -
Sorry to hear your news miss_pink. I had two last year at 6 and 10 weeks and both times was advised to wait for two periods. My doctor also said the chance of it happening again doesn't increase after one mc but it can after 2. I was ok at the time the first time, but the hormones did hit hard after a day or two.
Take care of your self!
As to the weight, my midwife accepted my word for what I weighed at my booking appt but they made me get weighed for the triple test...don't know why as everyoe else I talked to said they didn't have to!0 -

hi,
ive always noticed your posts as i LOVE Otis!
I used to have 2 girl rats and while it might be over 6 years since they died they were so much fun that i still miss them!
nice to know other people are reading our hormonal rantings!
Tens machines are brilliant, but im pretty sure you cant use one until your over about 37 weeks... something like that anyway,
i saw a cheap one in a lloyds chemist recently and very nearly bought it as i could not have coped with early labour last time without the hospital one they strapped to me when i arrived, and i remember being completely in love with it (until a point where it was like someone flipped a switch and it became the most annoying thing EVER and had to come off RIGHT NOW! lol)
but i didnt buy it for my current back ache niggles as i couldnt have used it yet...
there may be machines with a lower current that can be used though....0 -
I Am Sure That The Advert For The Lloyds Tens Machine Says In Small Print At The Bottom Of The Tv Screen That It Is Not Suitable For Pregnant Women.now mum of 4!!!0

It must be a different type to the one they use in hospitals and the ones you can hire for early labour then
its all electrical pulses, so maybe the lloyds one is too strong?0
