  • Miss_pink, very sorry to hear your news :grouphug:
    Take care.

  • I have a TENs machine that I used to use before pregnancy but had not used it since finding out. I asked mw and she said that the maternity ones were higher voltage than normal ones. She said not to use whilst pregnant but safe when contractions have already started. Something to do with the electrical currents can bring on contractions early?!

PS. mine is the one from Lloyds and I will be using during labour as it has worked for me for other aches and pains in the past!

We went to Harvester's for dinner tonight - one way to force veg down me. The girl serving us thought it was funny that I looked ready to pop, as in couldn't eat anymore after a bite of salad. She was worried I wouldn't be able to eat my meal, and she wasn't wrong... What's happened to my stomach? Had to throw the good-for-baby salmon into the dog.
I feel soooooo huge and helpless. Doesn't help I've had a tummy ache all afternoon/evening. I'm starting to see why the september girls are/were so desperate to get it over with...

And guess what, been so busy with the blinking house that I never got round to being tested for strepB or ordering a tens machine or getting the excercise ball out or doing the Davina video OR ANY PELVIC FLOORS!! This is going to be one unpleasant birth experience.

  • Hi all

Not new to MSE but I am new to this group. EDD 24/4/08. Third time around for me. My first son, Riach, was born in 2000, 2nd son, Tadhg, was born in 2006. Don't know what I am carrying this time but I do know it is a very, very different pg to the last two. Not showing yet but fully expecting to wake up one morning with a definate bump.

Haven't told anyone except dh and my best friend. Keeping it secret from the family until my brother and sil have their first on or around 5/11.

Hope to get to know you all better over the next 32 weeks!
  • Hi Machairs, welcome to the club and Congratulations!

Where is everyone, or am I a little early???

  • Thanks Redflame. I've been up and about for a while now and just snatching a few minutes online before I do the School run.
  • When do I need to buy a maternity bra, i am 16 weeks and still wearing my underwired ones which are a little small now.

Also can I eat the cream in cream cakes, i.e. chocolate eclairs etc.

    Thanks

I think you need to get some comfier bras, at least without wires. I wouldn't personally know as have just been wearing sports bras and tank top thingies, but pregnancy is what maternity bras are for... Are there any M&S sale ones left anywhere - they were very cheap...

As for the eclairs, I thought if we ignored you your craving would go away! But no. So of course you can eat cream cakes, as long as they're in date etc. I'd be eating pate if I wasn't so paranoid. I mean, how often do you get food poisoning? From a supermarket shelf? Enjoy!
